Chapter 446: Explosive News
For a moment, Margaret was rendered speechless. This was exactly the reason why she was here, to try and form a connection with Michael.
But the moment but she arrived, Michael had already refused. This left her unsure of how to proceed for a moment. But then, her mind came up with other options.
Despite how regretful she felt by the fact that they could not form a very close relationship with Michael through marriage, there were still other options.
"Actually, the reason why I came to look for you today is mainly for a collaboration. I was wondering, could we have an opportunity?" Margaret changed the topic.
In the past few days, she had tried as much as possible to investigate Michael. It was just that, the more she tried, the more she realized that she could not get more information about it from what she already had.

Still, her words made him a little surprised. He had already gotten an understanding of Margaret, and understood that she had an obsession with his father.
So, for her to suddenly change her mind, despite the obsession that she had, it was a surprise to Michael. Still, the moment that she said that she wanted to cooperate with him, Michael simply shook his head.
"I believe that you have already investigated me, and you know about my background. Do you think that with the resources that I posses, there is anything that your Rico family can help me with?" Michael asked bluntly.
For something like this, there was no reason for him to beat around the bush. Additionally, the two sides had never interacted that much. They had only met once at the mall, and of course, things did not go well.
Because of this, Michael really did not want anything to do with this lady. That was especially considering her obsession. Nobody could tell what she might end up doing when things did not go her way.

Nobody could guarantee that another civilization would come and attack them. Therefore, there was a possibility that all the preparations that they were making would end up being useless.
Additionally, Michael thought of the possibility of the system one day disappearing. Without the system, he would lose quite a lot.
Therefore, he decided to have something of his own, something that he could depend on later on, in case the system really vanished.
It was because of this that he was trying to avoid using SP to support the two companies that he owned, the big ones. As for the supermarket chain and the restaurant, Michael had decided to have them developed at their own speed.
Facing Michael's blunt words, Margaret was not sure how she was to respond. Usually, cooperation was between two forces that could benefit each other.
If the Rico family was associated with Michael, they would gain tremendous benefits. But Michael would probably gain nothing from such a cooperation. It was no wonder that he was not interested.
This was something that Margaret had been worried about before she came over. Still, she had made a plan.

Later that day, Kate left together with Alex and Lena. They headed towards the headquarters of NEXUS, which was located in a different location from the training camp.

After 5 days of continuous training without resting, apart from the little breaks that she took occasionally inside the training chamber, her strength had more than doubled.
This was mainly because she had been going all out in training, with a goal in mind. Because of this, the effectiveness of the training chamber and the rapid adaptation ability increased.
She was not that far off from reaching the same level that she had seen Michael when she first entered the training chamber that had the Time-field Acceleration Core installed.
Michael was not the slightest bit worried about Kate and Lena. The strength that the two ladies possessed, it would be impossible for anyone to harm them, unless maybe they were ambushed, in a situation where they could not react.
But Michael had Onyx pay attention to their movement. In case there was something that they could not handle, he would have to find a solution.
Once Kate left, the mansion returned to the normal silence that it had already gotten used to.
Without anything to do, Michael decided to train in the training chamber, while trying to find ways to advance the training chamber.
Just like that, a week went by, and great changes occurred all over the world. And of course, while several industries in the business world were shocked by the two companies under Michael, the major forces of the world knew something else.
That was the fact that, in a few days, the information about mutants would be revealed to the public. And by then, things would completely change.

Even the channels that they previously possessed, they could not use them anymore, because they had been severed. Clearly, there was a tighter control over the mutation serums.
This left them panicked, not sure about what they were to do. In the end, they decided to wait. Since they could not do anything for the time being, they could only wait and act the moment that a chance presented itself.
It was just that, they were bound to be completely disappointed. That was because, just a few days before the official release of the news about the mutation serums, there was another announcement.
There was an alliance, formed by great figures from all over the world. They had created a division that would act as law enforcement.
They would be the ones in charge of maintaining law and order in the world. While ordinary people were confused about this new division, the same could not be said about those that held high positions.
But at the same time, they announced another big news that sent the world into a storm.
