Chapter 422: Arrival

Michael looked at the group in front of him. Almost everyone that he knew was here.
This group consisted of Alex, Raymond, Dalton and several other young masters and misses from Brenton city.
It could be said that they were the only friends that Michael had made back in Brenton city.
Now, the group had come to the capital, after Michael had given them the suggestion a few days ago. That was when he was dealing with Chris Harrison, informing him to take the gifts that he had brought him to Brenton city.
Finally, the group had arrived a few minutes ago. Michael had made arrangements for them to be brought to the mansion.
"So, this is how rich people live? As compared to our place, this mansion is on a whole different level. I have never dreamed that there would come a day that I would be able to stay in a mansion like this!" Jessica exclaimed as she looked around.
Jessica Gibson, she was the lady who had decided to go with what Michael had chosen back at the bloody cage already. During the underground boxing, Michael made a prediction, that Beetle would win the fight.
She went ahead and used all the money that she had at the time, placed a bet, and she won big.
After that, she asked Michael for help. Michael did some background check on her, realizing that she had some talent when it came to programming and so on.
Therefore, he made an arrangement for her, allowing her to join Sky Technologies. Because of this, she ended up spending most of her time at the company, learning skills.
Of course, the issue with her parents had already been resolved, especially after they had learned that she had joined Sky Technologies.
When she got time, she would always meet up with Alex and the others, going out to have some fun and relax for a bit.
Michael had not been paying much attention to her progress ever since he made the arrangement. But in any case, he believed that she was doing great, based on how she seemed to be in a good mood.
And after Jessica heard that Alex and the rest of the group were planning to come to the capital to visit Michael, she immediately asked for a few days off. She decided that she had to come along, as this was her first time visiting the capital.
As for the comment that she had made, as compared to ordinary people, her family, with a net worth of about $842 million, they were rich.
But one had to understand the fact that most of that net worth was from fixed assets. Even her monthly allowance previously was just $10,000, one of the lowest in the group.
"Of course! You know, I believe that luxury is not just about the size of the house. Just look around, look at the quality of the furniture and other decorations. You can tell that the value of this mansion is extremely high." Alex nodded as he responded to Jessica’s comment.
In terms of wealth, his family was above Jessica’s. But even then, he could see that the luxury of this mansion was way beyond anything that his family could afford.
In terms of value, yes, as compared to the net worth of his family, it was not a problem for them to be able to afford it. But they did not have the cash to be able to directly buy this mansion.
Just like the Gibsons, most of the net worth came from the fixed assets and the company shares.
"Michael, would you consider my sister? After all, she is a beauty, and I believe that since she is friends with Kate, as long as you agree, she would be willing to become your mistress." Dalton asked while looking at Michael hopefully.
The issue regarding the gift that Michael had given to the Morgan family was not a secret. When they got the news about the value of the gift offered, it caused quite some shock waves within the city.
Those that previously knew about Michael, but did not pay him much attention, began regretting. If only their daughters, sisters, nieces or cousins had taken the chance to become Michael’s girlfriend, they would have made it big.
Unfortunately, they could only wallow in regret, with nothing to do about it but to envy the Morgan family.
With the gifts that they had received, the Morgan family, which was already the biggest force in the Eastern province, grow even stronger.
That was especially after they managed to break into the capital. With the influence of the shares that they had received from Chris, it would only be a matter of time before the Morgan family was considered part of the capital city.
Very soon, they would be moving from Brenton City, and into the capital. The arrangements had already begun being made, and after they managed to spread some of their influence in the capital, that would be the time to make the move.
Dalton thought about his sister, Susan. From his understanding, it seemed that she had interacted with Michael for some time. And that was after Kate had left for the special training organized by the police force.
He thought, with them having spent some time together, maybe, they could use that opportunity to form a bond.
By now, Dalton already understood that it will be impossible for Kate to be replaced. Additionally, that was not his intention to begin with.
Therefore, he thought, since the two girls were friends, he believed that Kate would not mind having Susan join her. While Kate would be holding a high position, he believed that it would work, right?
Of course, this was just an idea that he randomly came up with, not something that he had discussed with anyone.
And as expected, his suggestion was met with various gazes from the group around him.
Raymond could not help but sneer, "What? You think that Michael is that type of guy? Let me tell you, Michael loves my cousin. Why are you trying to ruin their relationship?"
Obviously, Raymond was not happy with this. If it was just Kate, then that implied that she would receive all of Michael’s love. But if another lady was involved, things could easily get out of hand.
It was not something new to hear that a mistress had taken the position of the main wife, with the husband divorcing the main wife.
"Okay, let’s not talk about that. Since you guys are here, why not go and take a look around the capital? Or maybe, would you want to rest first, then we can go out tomorrow?" Michael had no intention to talk about this issue.
Therefore, he changed the topic, focusing on something else. Recently, apart from training, he had not been doing anything else.
Kate was mostly out for most of the day. She had told Michael that NEXUS had contacted them. They were supposed to have gone back and started official training.
But because of Alex’s intervention, the team captain, they were able to continue staying here in the capital. But even then, from time to time, they would have to deal with some issues.
Because they needed to gain experience, sometimes, they just helped the local police stations in the city, to deal with some criminals.
Nonetheless, during situations like this, they did not use their abilities. Otherwise, it could easily cause misunderstandings, something that they had to avoid, especially with the turbulent situation in the city.
"That’s a good idea. In fact, personally, I’m not tired. If we can go out, I’m very ready." Raymond immediately responded.
He was quite curious about the situation in the capital. He had only been hearing some rumors about it, and now, he had the chance to experience it.
Before coming over, he had already done his own research, and he had already marked several areas that he wanted to visit. Therefore, he was kind of inpatient to go out and take a look.
Alex and the others immediately chimed in, both willing to go out right now. Even though they had arrived not long ago, and they felt some fatigue from sitting for quite a while in the plane, they were just so much curious.
"Since that is the case, then let me contact someone. I for myself I’m not really familiar with the capital. So, I will have to find someone who is much more familiar with it to take us out." Michael said as he took out his phone to make a call.
It was just that his words left the group confused. From their understanding, they believed that Michael was definitely from the capital.
Otherwise, with all the wealth that he possessed, it was in possible for him to be from another region of the country. His family should be from the capital.
Therefore, it was unexpected to them that Michael claimed that he was not familiar with the capital. This left some of them confused.
But for others like Raymond and Alex, they understood. Previously, they had already conducted a background search on Michael, just a few days after they had met.
They understood that Michael was previously in a very small city, Drenn city. And from the information, it seemed that his life was not that good while there.
This was something that confused them. But since they did not have any answers, they did not think much about it.
And right now, despite the suspicions that they had, they didn’t voice them out. Instead, they just waited as Michael made a call.
Several rings later, the call was received as a surprised voice came from the other end, "Michael? It is a surprise. You got anything for me to do?"
