Chapter 423: Henry’s Ambition
The last time that Michael and Henry met, Henry tried to convince Michael to come back to the Santos family. That was just the following day, after Michael had arrived in the capital.
Even though he didn’t say it directly, he had still asked Michael to get a chance so that they could talk about it. But at that time, Michael had to meet with Margaret.
Additionally, Michael had no any intention of going to the Santos family. After all, there was nothing for him there.
But Michael could remember, before Henry left, he had told Michael that since this was his first visit in the capital, if he wanted to look around, he could ask Henry to show him.
"Last time, you told me that you could take me around, right?" Michael asked in response to Henry’s inquiry.
"Yeah. I’m always ready to take you around. Right now, I’m free. Or do you have plans to look around the city at another time? You can tell me so that I can make arrangements in advance." Henry responded enthusiastically.
As the next in line for the position of the head of the Santos. family, he had so many considerations. His perspective was completely different from his father and grandfather.
Having already been involved in the management activities a few times, he was quite familiar about the situation of the family. And at the moment, he had his own ideas that he would like to have them implemented.
It was just that, his father did not approve of some of them. Because of this, Henry could only wait until it was his turn to take over the position of the family head.
And one of that idea was to improve the situation within the family. If several people could understand how to properly manage things within the family, it would make his time as the head of the family much easier.
From the information that he possessed about Michael, he understood that Michael possessed incredible abilities. Just from the fact that he was in charge of several companies, that in itself was a show of ability.
It might be true that Michael was not directly managing the companies, but his ability to be able to find skilled personnel was something that could be very crucial to the Santos family.
And something more, it was the fact that if Michael joined the Santos family, the family would rise. With the influence that Michael had through the Vanguard Corporation, many opportunities would open for the Santos family.
"I currently have a group of friends here. We are all curious about the capital. So if you are free right now, you can come over. I believe that you already know where I stay, right?" Michael responded.
"Yeah, no problem. Give me a few minutes, I will be there." Henry was even more excited.
Getting to know Michael’s friends, that implied that he could form a good bond with Michael.
At the moment, Henry understood that the relationship between Michael and the Santos family was not that close. But if he could become a friend of Michael’s friends, then the bond would be forged.
After that, he would have to find other methods of making sure that the relationship between Michael and the Santos family got better. Even if it was impossible for Michael to go back to the Santos family, as long as there was friendship, that would be much better than the situation now.
After ending the call, Michael looked at Alex and the others and said, "Okay, let me make some arrangements for transportation. I believe it should not be a problem for us to be able to get a few cars."
"Is that really necessary? We can always use taxis, right? To be able to get enough cars that can fit all of us, unless we take a bus or a van, I don’t think it will be cheap." Dalton asked.
"I think that you make sense. But anyway, who among us doesn’t have money? We can just spend a little bit of money to hire a few cars for a few days." Alex agreed with what Dalton had said, but even then, he had his own suggestion.
"Guys, there is no need to think much about it. It is very simple for me to be able to arrange for the cars." Michael shrugged, speaking just before Raymond could say anything.
For Michael, if there was a need, he could get many cars from the system store. Of course, he did not need to get the limited edition cars. Just the normal cars were enough, as long as they were sports cars.
This group of young people obviously would be much happy inside sports cars, instead of other types of cars.
But there was no need for that. With the connections that Vanguard Corporation had, it was not a problem for them to be able to arrange for several sports cars.
Since Michael did not specifically need the most expensive cars, this was something that could be dealt with within just an hour or so.
Therefore, immediately after he finished speaking, he contacted Benson, to inform him about the situation. Of course, this was done through Onyx. But still, Michael pretended to have sent a text on his phone.
"You guys can look around while waiting. I will have the butler make an arrangement for you, for some food and snacks. You can also go to the third floor. There is a private cinema, game rooms, gym and other leisure facilities." Michael said before he turned to leave.
He did not need to instruct the butler, Andrew, who was already present in the living room. Therefore, the moment that Michael left, Andrew led the excited group for a tour around the mansion, after receiving their consent.
It was on the fourth floor that there were guest rooms. And Andrew was a professional, therefore, he understood what needed to be done.
Before taking them to the guest rooms, he first of all showed them around, to make them familiar with their environment.
This time, Alex and the entire gang had arrived. A total of 18 people, which was quite a crowd. But still, they could all be accommodated within the mansion.
The mansion rose 4 floors above ground with 2 basement levels beneath it. The residence contained fifteen bedrooms, twenty bathrooms, and an underground garage capable of accommodating more than twenty vehicles.
The second basement housed the underground garage, the wine cellar, several storage rooms, the mechanical and utility rooms, and the main security control room that monitored the entire estate.
The first basement was dedicated to wellness and support facilities. It contained changing rooms, staff facilities, and additional maintenance and storage areas.
The ground floor served as the main living and reception area of the mansion. It featured a grand entrance hall, a spacious living room, a family lounge, a formal dining room, a private dining room, a large kitchen with a pantry, a library, a home office, a conference room, a reception lounge, a laundry room, and several guest bathrooms.
The second floor was reserved for the family’s private living area. It contained the master bedroom together with six family bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom. The floor also included a family lounge, a study area, walk-in wardrobes, and private balconies.
The third floor was dedicated to entertainment and leisure. It housed a private cinema, a games room, a fully equipped gym, an entertainment lounge, a billiards room, a music room, a reading lounge, an indoor recreation area, and several bathrooms.
The fourth floor served as the guest wing. It contained eight luxury guest bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom. The floor also included a guest lounge, a small meeting room, a kitchenette, and a private terrace overlooking the surrounding district.
Outside, the estate featured landscaped gardens, walking paths, a central fountain, an outdoor swimming pool, a tennis court, a basketball court, helipads, a guest house, a security building at the main entrance, and a large courtyard in front of the mansion.
When they had arrived, they had already realized that this was a very luxurious mansion. But after they had been taken around, they finally realized just how big this place was.
The size of the mansion itself was big, way bigger than the houses that they themselves had lived in. Then, the area that was occupied by the mansion itself, it was almost the size of an average residential community back in Brenton city.
By the end of the tour, the group felt that they had their perspectives altered. Before they met Michael, they usually felt that they lived in luxury.
But now, they realized that they were just frogs in the bottom of the well.
With the tour over, Andrew took the group to the fourth floor. Several maids had already made arrangements for the group, based on their genders.
Of course, there were not enough rooms to accommodate everyone in their own rooms. Therefore, they had to share the rooms.
Nobody within the group complained about sharing rooms. First of all, none of them wanted to find another place to stay. Another thing, they were guests, and they could not be picky.
And more than that, it was the fact that each room was quite huge. Even three people in one room did not make the rooms feel cramped at all.
The tour itself took quite a while, and so, after the group had finished freshening up, they only rested for a few minutes, before they were called by Michael.
Henry had already arrived a few minutes ago, but Michael let the group to freshen up first, before calling them over.
