Chapter 424: Luxury, Shock
Henry was left dumbfounded the moment that he saw the group of friends that Michael was talking about.
A few minutes earlier, he had arrived, and had been talking with Michael with no specific topic at all. They were just casually chatting, while waiting.
Previously, Henry thought that the group of friends that Michael was talking about were just about two or three people. Unexpectedly, looking at this entire group, he realized that he needed to make some adjustments.
Initially, after Michael told him that he had a group of friends, Henry had gone ahead and made some arrangements. It was just that he had made arrangements without considering this huge number.
Despite the surprise, he still went ahead and got to know the group. Michael introduced each one of them, allowing them to get familiar with each other.
Alex and the rest of the group were both shocked and amazed when they realized that Henry was Michael’s cousin. At the same time, they felt a little nervous around him.
But looking at his casual attitude, not putting on any airs around them, they finally relaxed a bit. But even then, they were kind of restrained around Henry.
With Michael, despite all that he had shown, at least, they could be much more free around him. But without fully understanding Henry’s personality, none of them could easily make a joke with him.
Michael of course noticed this, but he did not say anything. In any case, after hanging out with Henry for a bit, he believed that this group of carefree friends would adapt.
After the introductions were out of the way, the group finally left the mansion. And as soon as they walked out the door, most of them immediately froze in place.
They looked at the number of sports cars in front of them, not sure how they were supposed to react. Previously, when they entered the mansion, and during the tour, they had not seen these cars.
Immediately, they understood that Michael had made an arrangement for these cars to be brought over. They should be the ones that they would be using to go out with?
The thing that shocked them was the fact that they could recognize these cars. The brand and models of each car, they were familiar with them.
After all, within the group, several of them were quite enthusiastic about racing. Therefore, they were much familiar with different car models and brands.
Looking at the cars, they quickly made an estimation. From the looks of it, the cheapest car here should cost almost a million dollars?
"Wait... Is that a Bugatti Tourbillon? That thing costs over $4 million!" Alex exclaimed as he looked at a red sports car.
"Holy... That’s a Ferrari F80! Even if you have the money, getting one isn’t easy. It’s worth nearly $4 million!" Beside him, Raymond chimed in, also shocked.
"No way! A Pagani Utopia! That’s another masterpiece worth around $3 million!"
"That’s an Aston Martin Valkyrie! I’ve only seen one in magazines. It costs more than $3 million!"
"Look over there! A Koenigsegg Gemera! That’s a $2 million hypercar!"
"Even they have a McLaren W1? That’s worth well over $2 million!"
"And that’s a Rimac Nevera! An electric monster that costs around $2.5 million dollars!"
"Isn’t that a Rolls-Royce Droptail? Good heavens... that’s worth well over $30 million dollars!"
"Even their SUV is a Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge! That’s almost half a million dollars!"
"And bringing up the rear is a Lamborghini Revuelto... Even the cheapest car in this convoy is worth around $700k!"
As the prices echoed one after another, the group could only stare blankly at the convoy. They had all grown up surrounded by luxury cars, but this was an entirely different level.
The vehicles before them weren’t merely expensive, they were the kind of machines that symbolized the wealth and influence of the world’s elite.
It was amazing to be able to find one of these cars once in a while. But to have all of them gathered in the same place, it left them dumbfounded.
Even Henry had not anticipated something like this. Looking at the convoy of cars in front of him, he looked at Michael with a speechless expression on his face.
At this point, he realized, Michael’s influence, it was something that he could not match. At the same time, he decided, no matter what, even if they could not bring Michael back into the family, they had to at least maintain a good relationship.
And today, this was a chance that he had received. It was the first time that Michael had invited him, and he had to take this opportunity to change Michael’s mind.
Michael on the other hand raised his brows slightly. Even he had not anticipated that Benson would arrange for these cars to be brought over so fast.
He had previously considered that the cars would not be cheap, but he had not expected that they would be this expensive.
He wondered, just how many auto stores did he go to? Looking at some of the cars that were clearly new, he wondered how they had been allowed to be brought over, when the registration process of the cars would usually take a very long time.
But looking at those cars, they already had a temporary license plate. Probably, Benson had decided to buy them.
"You guys can choose any of the cars. With all these cars, we should be able to fit in." Michael commented, breaking the silence and shock that was lingering in the air after everyone had realized the prices of the cars.
Michael’s words immediately made the group react. They began scrambling towards the cars, each one of them targeting the best cars or those that they admired.
Of course, the situation where several people wanted the same car appeared. But despite how they argued, they made sure not to touch the cars.
They could fight and argue all they wanted, but they definitely could not attempt to ruin the cars. Otherwise, even if Michael was a friend, they understood that they would need to pay the price, which most of them could not afford.
After all, while their families were rich, that is not implied that they eat themselves were rich. They might have more money than other young masters and misses, but it was nowhere enough to allow them to buy these cars.
"Can you guys behave for a moment? Let’s do this, just to get into an empty car. We can always switch from time to time, so that we can get to experience how it feels sitting inside each of these cars." Alex was the most reasonable of the group.
And with his suggestion, the group immediately calmed down. They quickly got into the cars, even though some of them were reluctant.
Michael got into the most expensive car, which had been deliberately left by the group.
Michael looked at the Rolls-Royce drop tail, a little curious about this car. This was definitely going to be the first time that he was going to sit inside such an expensive car.
Despite all the wealth that he had accumulated until now, Michael had not really focused that much on cars, apart from the one that he bought back in Brenton city, then sold it to Alex.
He looked at the long, elegant body that was finished in a deep midnight black that gleamed like polished obsidian beneath the sunlight.
Every curve flowed seamlessly into the next, giving the car a graceful presence that immediately drew every pair of eyes.
The signature illuminated Rolls-Royce grille stood at the front, crowned by the iconic Spirit of Ecstasy ornament, while the slim LED headlights gave it a refined but imposing look.
Large, mirror-polished alloy wheels complemented its profile, and the handcrafted wooden accents visible through the windows hinted at the extraordinary craftsmanship hidden within the cabin.
Anyone familiar with the automotive world would recognize it instantly. The Rolls-Royce Droptail was one of the most exclusive and expensive luxury cars ever created, with a value exceeding $30 million.
After observing it for a little bit longer, he looked at Henry, and asked, "Do you want to drive?"
Michael had of course noticed that Henry was also looking at the cars, and there was clear obsession in his eyes. Probably, just like Alex and the rest of the group, he also liked the cars.
It was just that he was acting much more restrained than the group. But even then, when given the chance, he did not reject.
At Michael’s question, Henry quickly nodded as he said, "Let’s get going then. I will take this chance to show you a few tricks that I have learned so far. But don’t worry, I will be extremely careful, not to ruin the car."
He was moving even before he finished speaking. By the time that he was done, he had already opened the car door, and carefully sat inside. His fingers touched the steer wheel, getting to feel this car.
Even though the Santos family was quite wealthy, that did not imply that they would just waste a lot of money on a car like this.
It was a very good car, something that Henry admired. But as the next leader of the Santos family after his father, he understood that he had to know his own limits.
He would definitely not be allowed to indulge himself by buying such an expensive car, especially with the previous situation that the Santos family was in.
Michael simply shook his head as he got into the car. After making sure that Michael had put on the seat belt, Henry led the way out of the mansion area.
