When Kate noticed that Michael was looking at her, she blushed. She averted her gaze, looking at the ceiling as she said, "I’m going out with Lina. I’m not sure at what time I will return, but at most, it would be 8 at night."

Michael did not respond, as he gazed at Kate, a smile on his lips. He believed that the same reason why Kate was going out today was the same as why she had the previous day.

When Kate came back the previous day, she had already informed Michael about what had happened, and why she stayed out so long. Additionally, Lina was a bio human, with the responsibility of protecting Kate.

Because this was something that was suggested by Lina, the chances of Kate facing danger were extremely low. That was especially considering that they were dealing with ordinary gangsters and crooks, not mutants.

Upon not hearing Michael’s response, Kate finally gazed at him, a little confused. Just as she was about to say something, she suddenly froze as Michael suddenly appeared in front of her.

Such speed, if Michael was an enemy, Kate understood that she would not have had a chance of reacting at all, before he attacked her.

She was so shocked that she immediately realized that there was a big gap between her and Michael in terms of strength. It seemed, she would have to work hard on training.

"Okay, but make sure to pay attention to your safety. No matter what kind of experience you would like to get out there, make sure that your safety comes first. If there is danger that you cannot handle, then there is no need to confront it.

Just retreat, train for a while, then go deal with it later on when you have grown strong enough." Michael spoke in a low voice.

Despite the red shade on her cheeks, Kate nodded seriously. She understood that despite being a mutant, she could face dangers.

She had experienced some of them the previous day when she was out with Lina. Therefore, she understood that she had to be careful, even when dealing with ordinary people, especially those with weapons.

Moreover, there was a possibility of encountering a mutant that was way stronger than she was. A good example would be Jackson, who had obviously overwhelmed her the time that he came to assassinate Michael.

Good thing that she was out with Lina. A combination of their two abilities, she believed would be enough to be able to deal with Jackson.

In fact, she believed that Lina had the capability of dealing with someone like Jackson on her own. The only reason why she was cooperating with her was simply because she wanted Kate to gain experience.

Just as her mind was wondering about the dangers that she could encounter, her body stiffened when Michael suddenly embraced her.

Though, she came back to her senses, hugging back. Then, just as Michael was letting her go, she kissed him on the cheek before she rushed away.

Michael only shook his head at this, watching her as she left. If he wanted to stop her, it would have been an easy task for him. Still, he just let her have her fun.

...

Around 11 the same day, someone visited. Michael had already been expecting this guest, it was just that, he kind of was late.

In the living room of the mansion, Michael was seated on the couch, with a glass of juice set on the table in front of him.

Sitting on the couch opposite him was I’m on with a medium build that fit in the grey suit that he was wearing. He had a small protruded belly a mix of gray in his brown hair combed backwards.

In his hands, the man was holding a big brown envelope, which Michael deduced that it contained several documents.

The man’s green eyes looked at Michael, as if he was trying to see through him.

Michael did not say anything, remaining silent, while waiting for the man to speak. This person was none other than Robin’s father, Chris Harrison.

Michael had been expecting that Chris would come looking for him after the incident at the auction house. As for the purpose of the visit, it would either be him coming for revenge, or coming to ask for forgiveness.

In fact, Michael had been expecting that Chris would come the previous day. Unexpectedly, the day went by, and the guy did not come over.

Michael did not bother to understand what that guy had been busy with, as his mind drifted to the incident that had happened the previous night.

At that time, Kate had come over and lay on top of him on the couch. Her face was just a few inches away from his own, their eyes locked.

Being in such a position, as a healthy man, of course, things would happen. Still, Michael was able to prevent himself from crossing the final line, as he thought that he needed to make things official first.

While he and Kate had already decided to be together, that was an agreement between the two of them. So, Michael decided that he would have to meet with Kate’s mother, as he really had never met her before.

If there was a need, he would not mind planning an engagement with Kate. After all, Michael had already set his eyes on Kate, and the probability of him being together with another girl was quite minimal.

As Michael was lost in his thoughts, finally, Chris spoke up.

"Mr Santos, I would like to apologize for what my son did yesterday. He was completely out of line, and I can assure you that once he gets out of the hospital, he will face harsh punishment from me." Chris stated, his voice serious.

When Chris spoke, Michael finally paid attention to him. He was not surprised that Chris knew about his identity, and where he stayed.

The moment that he made a tour in Vanguard Corporation, it was inevitable that his information would spread. Yes, Michael had much control over his information online through Onyx.

But it was obviously impossible for him to be able to control what other people would say to others. Thereby, with many of the employees at the company on that day, it was obvious that they would spread his information.

It was because of this that Michael had already anticipated that Chris would come to look for him. That was of course unless this guy was an idiot, or he really did not care that much about Robin, as the rumors suggested.

And the decision that Chris had made, to ask for forgiveness, despite Robin being in the hospital, it was within expectation. For someone who was in charge of a big family like the Harrisons, worth over $120 billion, he needed to know when to back down.

Just from the fact that Michael was the owner of Vanguard Corporation, it was clear that his background was not simple. It was inevitable that people would begin guessing about Michael’s origin.

There would obviously be a link between Michael and the Santos family. Even though it was clear that the Santos family were not capable of fully acquiring Vanguard Corporation for a youngster within the family, it was intimidating nonetheless.

Additionally, as compared to the Santos family, the Harrison family was obviously at a lower level. With Matthew, the current head of the Santos family, being Michael’s grandfather, Michael’s enemies would have to be careful about what they did.

The conflict between Michael and the Santos family was not something that many people knew about. Even though the misunderstanding between them had already been cleared, Michael was obviously not inclined to go back to the Santos family.

At least, when he needed them, they didn’t show up. Why should he show up when they needed him?

"I have no issues, as he was already punished for his intentions. But I can promise you, if he attempts this again, to try and set his eyes on my girlfriend, I can assure you that you will not be able to bear the consequences." Michael stated in an even tone.

Even though those words were not said with coldness, or exhibited any hint of threat, Chris felt his blood running cold.

For some reason, he instinctively believed what Michael had told him. This was not a feeling that he got due to the information that he possessed on Michael, instead, it was just from looking at Michael as he spoke.

There was this feeling that he got that if he did not control his son, things would get out of hand. And, there was a possibility that his entire family would be wiped out.

When he got the information on Michael, Chris had contemplated for a very long while about Michael’s background. He believed that the Santos family was not enough to be able to give Michael an entire company like Vanguard Corporation.

After all, the current situation of the Santos family was pretty clear to the main forces within the capital. They could understand that the situation was tense between the Santos family and the blood reapers syndicate.

Of course, Chris had been contemplating on whether to come over and apologize or not. In real sense, he had intended to ignore this issue completely, assuming that it did not exist.

But what had happened the previous day, with the main forces of the blood reapers syndicate being killed, it changed his mind. Even though it was just an assumption that Michael had another identity apart from the one related to the Santos family, he did not want to cause Michael any trouble.

Still, the moment that he realized that the Santos family might be able to rise with the fall of the blood reapers syndicate, he decisively came to apologize.

"I understand, I will make sure that this will never happen again. Additionally, I brought some small gifts to show the sincerity of my apology." Chris said as he opened the envelope that he was carrying.
