Chapter 202: An Opportunity
"Physician Bai has told me that you are looking for your missing family member." He began.
Zhou Wenzhi nodded. "Yes, do you know where she is, Master Mo?"
At this moment, Mo Chen suddenly closed his eyes as he sat on the chair.
The Zhou and Xiao family members went incredibly quiet, not daring to disturb him. They all held their breath, waiting for him to open his eyes and tell them about it.
It didn’t take long before he did it.
As Mo Chen opened his eyes, everyone’s attention was on him again. His face was still neutral, so they couldn’t glean any clue from his expression.
"Your daughter... is currently fine." He told Zhou Anran, who instantly heaved a sigh of relief.
She asked him worriedly. "Master Mo, where is she?"
Mo Chen was silent for a moment.
Before he came here, he already did divination several times and all of the results were the same. After he arrived at the Zhou Wenzhi family’s house, he did another one.
With karmic threads from the missing girl’s family, he thought that the result might be different if he did it once again.
"Can I speak to you in a more private environment?" Mo Chen asked.
They all immediately agreed and dismissed the others. Zhou Anran even locked the door to prevent her children from eavesdropping and being caught by Mo Chen.
At this moment, there was only Zhou Wenzhi, Zhou Anran, and Mo Chen in the living room.
This time, Mo Chen took a sip of his tea and began to explain.
"Master Zhou, Mrs. Zhou, the second daughter is currently in a safe place. She had escaped the people who originally wanted to hurt her." He paused briefly.
Doing divination for this Xiao family actually made him feel so weak. It seemed that this family wouldn’t be ordinary in the future.
Considering their youngest daughter’s special existence, it shouldn’t be far from the truth. Even the news about Xiao Yuyan in the words he was about to say next might displease them.
"But, it’s best if you stop looking for her for now," he continued, much to the two people’s bewilderment.
"Master Mo, may we know why?" Zhou Anran immediately asked.
As a mother, worrying about her kids came as naturally as breathing. Upon hearing that they didn’t need to look for Xiao Yuyan anymore, she would feel resistance about it.
"Her fate will change if you deliberately bring her back now, turning for the worse." He explained, and then added. "Have your first daughter learn martial arts more seriously."
Zhou Anran could feel that these two things were connected with each other.
Alas, her youngest daughter wasn’t there. The System sometimes would explain things from the plot.
However, since Mo Chen had said so, it was most likely related to the part where one of her twin daughters was the female lead. For now, it wasn’t clear who the female lead was since the content for it was still locked.
Zhou Anran sorted out her thoughts and thanked Mo Chen.
If not for Physician Bai and Xiao Qingya in their family, it definitely would be hard to invite him to their residence.
Just by looking at the luxurious carriage parked outside, they already guessed that he wasn’t an ordinary character. He might also be one of the high-ranking officials.
"Thank you, Master Mo."
The two left the living room after that, because Mo Chen had called for Xiao Qingya. Anyway, they also needed to sort their thoughts regarding the information they had just received from him.
"Father, what should we do?" Zhou Anran sighed and massaged her throbbing temples.
She was still incredibly anxious about her second daughter’s condition. "Will Yan’er thinks that we don’t care about her anymore?"
Zhou Wenzhi immediately shook his head. "Yan’er is a smart girl, so she wouldn’t think like that toward us. We can still do occasional searches once a while, but I doubt we can really find her."
With so many forces looking for her at the same time, it was impossible for her to hide. The most logical explanation was that she was not in the Capital.
Perhaps, she was there for a short time, and then no longer there anymore.
Xiao Qingya trotted toward Mo Chen while carrying Xiao Xue in her arms, wearing a super innocent smile. She greeted him respectfully, "Master."
It was undeniable that a lot of his items were useful, and they helped her to deal with a lot of things.
"How is Little Ya’s studies going? Did you read the books that I have sent you?" Mo Chen asked kindly.
Xiao Qingya suddenly stiffened. Here it comes!
She instinctively put Xiao Xue in her master’s hands, much to the System’s surprise. It stared at her with a look of bewilderment as though it was asking her: what are you doing?
Not long after, Mo Chen and the cat stared at each other.
The System squirmed a little, wondering whether Mo Chen would be able to see through it.
He suddenly poked the System’s white fur, stopping it from jumping out of his hands. Xiao Qingya knew that he was waiting for her explanation, so she could only bite the bullet.
"I have read some of them!" She nodded at him. "Eldest Brother helped me interpret difficult passages!"
Mo Chen nodded. "Does Little Ya have any questions after reading the books?"
For the next hour, Xiao Qingya could feel that it was one of the most difficult moments in her life after she occupied this body. As soon as Mo Chen didn’t pay any attention to it, the traitorous little white cat also ran away!
[Host, you have learned so much. At this rate, you will have an easier time in the future with Mo Chen’s teaching.] The System consoled her.
She leaned against her small chair, dead tired.
Compared to Mo Chen, Xiao Jingran’s teaching method was much more gentle and tolerant. If Xiao Qingya told him she was tired, he would give her a break.
Mo Chen was the epitome of strictness, telling her to draw the talismans no matter what. As a result, her hand now became all sore.
However, she could tell that her talisman mastery had improved a lot. After all, Mo Chen was a legitimate teacher, and he never gave her a chance to slack off.
The Ling siblings had bolted away the moment they saw Mo Chen.
After staying in Zhou Wenzhi’s place for a while, Mo Chen finally excused himself. He didn’t forget to tell Xiao Qingya to study diligently, and she nodded at that.
Mo Chen returned to his carriage while the Xiao family sent him off.
The moment the carriage disappeared in the corner of the street, the Xiao siblings immediately flocked to their mother and grandfather.
"Mother, how is it?" Xiao Yuxi asked anxiously. "Did Master Mo give any clues? Shall we prepare to find Yan’er now?"
Contrary to her expectations, Zhou Anran shook her head instead. A look of confusion appeared on her children’s faces.
Zhou Anran immediately explained what Mo Chen had told them, excluding certain topics. "Master Mo said that Yan’er is currently fine. She is actually experiencing a good opportunity in her life."
They were all trying to digest her words, but in the end, they still couldn’t understand it.
She sighed and understood her children’s feelings.
"We will still be looking for her," she continued, causing them to heave a sigh of relief.
Zhou Anran fell silent for a moment before her gaze fell on Xiao Yuxi. She still didn’t understand why Mo Chen had specifically mentioned for her eldest daughter to learn martial arts.
"Xi’er, how is your martial arts learning going?" She asked.
Xiao Yuxi was still pondering about the meaning behind her mother’s words and didn’t expect that she would ask such a question.
She scratched the back of her head and answered, "I think it’s doing well, Mother."
Zhou Anran gave her a kind look. "Keep it up. Mother believes that you will be as good as your eldest brother soon."
Upon hearing that, the gloominess in Xiao Yuxi’s heart dissipated slightly, and she nodded solemnly.
In another place, Xiao Yuanwei suddenly spotted a familiar carriage and figure from the direction of the Zhou family’s house. As their carriage passed by each other, he could see that it was really Mo Chen.
Mo Chen seemed to be aware of Xiao Yuanwei’s gaze and gave him a nod of acknowledgement.
He seemed to know about the Zhou and Xiao family... or was it merely his guess? Well, he might be able to find out as soon as he arrives at their house later.
A few minutes later, the whole house was stunned when they suddenly received a visit from Xiao Yuanwei.
Guo Tianliang ran inside to report the news to them. "Master, there is a guest outside. Shall we let them in?"
Zhou Wenzhi nodded, and Zhou Anran’s face was a little tense.
