Elara heard him, her eyes shifted toward Cain for a moment.

"That’s all?"

Cain smiled.

"You want me to praise you in the middle of a fight?"

Elara’s expression stiffened slightly.

"Just forget I asked."

She immediately looked away and returned her attention to the remaining enemies.

Cain’s smile widened.

A green current suddenly crossed his vision.

An arrow slipped through the narrow gap between two fighting zombies before burying itself in the eye of another soldier farther behind them.

Cain followed its trajectory toward Nathan.

Green Wind surrounded the archer, spreading across the area around him through Emerald Galefield.

Unlike Ron or Elara, Nathan had barely moved from his original position since the battle began.

Well, he didn’t need to in the first place.

His bowstring drew back.

The moment it returned to place, another zombie fell somewhere across the battlefield.

Nathan’s gaze never lingered on a single target for long.

He was not simply killing whichever enemy stood closest to him.

He was watching everyone.

Maya was suddenly forced backward when the zombie in front of her changed the angle of its sword at the final moment.

The blade curved toward her shoulder.

Before it could reach her, an arrow struck the zombie’s upper arm and knocked the attack aside.

Professor Ian immediately stepped into the opening, his sword swept across the creature’s neck.

By the time the head fell, Nathan was already looking elsewhere.

Another arrow left his bow.

A Zombie Race soldier had managed to break through the fighting and was charging toward Evelyne near the rear.

The arrow entered beneath its chin.

Its body jerked backward before collapsing several meters away from her.

Evelyne looked toward Nathan.

"Thanks!"

He was already drawing another arrow.

"Your left."

Evelyne turned quickly and saw that another zombie had slipped around the side and was forcing its way toward the backline.

Nathan released the bowstring.

The arrow struck the zombie through the eye before it could take another step toward her.

Cain’s eyes narrowed slightly.

Nathan was controlling far more of the battlefield than anyone around him probably realized.

Whenever someone made a mistake, an arrow immediately appeared.

Whenever an enemy found an opening, Nathan directly closed it.

Even while killing his own targets, he was constantly covering everyone around him.

A heavily armored zombie eventually noticed what was happening.

It raised a thick metal shield and charged directly toward Nathan.

The archer remained calm.

His hand reached toward the quiver behind his shoulder and selected another arrow.

Green Wind gathered around the shaft.

The current rapidly compressed until the entire arrow began humming faintly beneath the pressure.

Nathan drew the bowstring all the way back and used his (Tempest Arrow) skill, then released it.

The arrow vanished from sight.

The armored zombie raised its shield.

BOOM!

A hole exploded through the center as the arrow continued straight into the zombie’s chest.

Its body stopped abruptly, then collapsed to the ground.

Nathan lowered the bow slightly.

His expression hardly changed as he simply reached for another arrow.

Cain watched him for a moment before a much louder impact dragged his attention toward another part of the battlefield.

BANG!

A heavy weapon crashed against Jack’s raised gauntlet.

The ground beneath his boots fractured.

Jack barely moved.

Unmoving Tyrant reinforced his already powerful body, allowing him to stand firmly against the force that should have sent most people flying.

The zombie attacking him clearly had not expected that.

Jack looked at the weapon pressing against his forearm.

"That’s it?"

He suddenly pushed upward, causing the zombie to lose its balance.

Before Jack could follow, another one attacked from the side.

Instead of dodging, Jack turned his arm and deliberately allowed the weapon to strike the reinforced plate protecting his forearm.

BANG!

The impact traveled into the gauntlet, brown-gold patterns across its surface brightened.

Jack felt the stored force gathering inside.

His eyes lit up.

"So that’s how it works."

Two more zombies rushed toward him.

Jack grinned and stepped forward.

The first swung a sword toward his shoulder.

Jack raised his arm and blocked it.

Another pulse of force entered the gauntlets.

The second zombie came from the opposite side and struck his ribs with a heavy metal club.

Jack’s body shifted slightly from the impact, but his feet remained planted.

The brown-gold light became brighter.

"Again."

The zombies did not understand his words, but they were more than willing to continue attacking.

Jack met them head-on.

He blocked another strike before driving his fist into one zombie’s abdomen.

Bang!

The creature was thrown backward and dragged its feet across the ground before regaining its balance.

Jack did not chase it as he wanted them to keep attacking.

Every impact fed more force into his gauntlets.

The brown-gold patterns soon glowed intensely across both hands.

Jack could feel how much power had accumulated.

Then a much larger Zombie Race soldier pushed through the others. Thick armor covered most of its body.

It lowered its shoulder and charged.

Jack planted his feet, his right fist drew backward.

The stored force within the gauntlets began concentrating around it.

The pressure gathered so heavily that even the air around his hand started trembling.

Jack’s grin disappeared as his expression became completely focused.

The armored zombie entered striking distance.

Jack punched as he used his (Mountain-Shattering Blow) skill.

His fist slammed into the center of the zombie’s chest.

BOOM!

The front of its armor caved inward.

The creature’s body folded around the punch before the accumulated impact erupted through it.

The armor across its back burst apart.

The zombie was launched across the battlefield and crashed into another soldier with enough force to send both tumbling across the ground.

Jack slowly lowered his fist and stared at the result for a second.

Then the grin returned to his face.

"Now we’re talking."

Cain shook his head.

Jack looked entirely too pleased with himself.

Cain’s attention then shifted to somewhere else as the battle around them had already descended into chaos.
