Chapter 131 | Facing An Ultra Class Beast!
As the Goblin King and its commanders unleashed their aura, the surrounding heroes’ faces changed when they realized they were facing Ultra Level monsters.
"This is clearly not a E rank Gate!"
One of them said through clenched his teeth. Most of the heroes present were only in the Superhuman Realm.
Aurora’s cold voice echoed through the ears of every hero nearby, cutting through the panic.
"I will stop the Level 7 Ultra-level boss. The rest of you, find a way to stop the other four commanders."
She didn’t wait for acknowledgment. Aurora vanished, moving so fast she created a sonic boom that shattered the remaining glass in the district.
"BOOM!"
She collided with the Six-Armed Goblin King, and the resulting impact blasted both of them directly into a massive shopping mall.
Deafening booms echoed from within the building, sounding like the beating of a massive war drum as the two Ultra powers clashed.
Left with no other choice, the remaining heroes divided into groups to confront the four commander beasts. Their only hope was to gang up on them.
Just as the Bullet Spear Man was contemplating whether he should even attempt to fight an Ultra-level beast, a figure plummeted from a tall building nearby.
"Bang!"
His hero name was Kinetic Man, a popular C-rank hero, but more importantly, a Level One Ultra Realm expert.
He turned to the Bullet Spear Man. "Let’s deal with this one," he said, pointing at the Level Four Four-Armed Goblin Commander.
Then he turned to the others. "You guys handle the other three."
The Bullet Spear Man’s face tightened, but he had no choice but to nod. He and Kinetic Man charged forward to engage the Level Four beast.
The rest of the heroes quickly split up. Five heroes went to face the Level Three commander. Four heroes engaged the Level Two, and another three rushed the Level One.
Dexter had just returned from dropping off the old man. He surveyed the battlefield instantly.
He saw the five heroes facing the Level Three beast. They had absolutely no chance. Even with a numerical advantage, the power gap was too immense.
On the other side, Kinetic Man was faring better. Using his kinetic talent and his shield, he was able to absorb the kinetic energy from the Level Four beast’s strikes, effectively tanking the attacks.
Meanwhile, the Bullet Spear Man used his incredible speed and piercing spear strikes to chip away at the beast. Dexter had heard of Kinetic Man; his ability to absorb and release kinetic energy made him the perfect shield. They would be alright.
But the five heroes fighting the Level Three commander were being slaughtered.
A simple punch from the beast sent one hero flying through a wall. A stomp nearly crushed another, but a third hero with a speed talent managed to push his comrade out of the way just in time.
They were barely containing it, saving each other from fatal blows, but they were taking heavy damage. Blood dripped from the corners of their mouths, and their movements were growing sluggish.
Dexter immediately sprinted toward them.
As he closed the distance, the Level Three goblin commander reached out with one of its massive hands and grabbed one of the heroes by the neck.
It lifted the man off the ground. The hero screamed, frantically punching the beast’s thick, armored arm, but it was like hitting a mountain.
The other heroes lunged forward to save him, but the goblin’s remaining three arms moved, perfectly blocking their attacks effortlessly.
"Graaaa!"
The beast’s grip tightened and was about to snap the hero’s neck like a twig.
Dexter’s eyes flared with violet light.
"Flame Burst Step!"
He crossed the remaining distance in a blink, leaving a trail of scorched air behind him as he materialized directly in front of the Level Three Ultra beast.
"Flame Slash!"
Dexter activated the bloodline skill without hesitation, his saber erupting in a crescent of compressed violet fire as he swung it directly at the four-armed goblin’s neck.
"CLANG!"
A green dome barrier materialized instantly around the beast, erupting from its skin like a translucent tortoise shell.
Space warped around the point of impact, as shockwaves rippled outward, cracking the asphalt beneath their feet.
The beast unconsciously released its grip on the hero and the man dropped to the ground, gasping and clutching his throat in horror.
The speedster hero quickly grabbed his comrade by the arm and dragging him away from the beast’s reach.
"Hold it for thirty more seconds!" a voice roared from behind.
Dexter glanced sideways. A hero in a red and white suit, had his entire body crackling with blinding blue plasma energy.
His hero name was Plasmatic.
Dexter frowned slightly but he eventually nodded his head.
The space around him shifted as his speed exploded. He vanished from in front of the beast and reappeared behind it.
The beast smirked and it stepped forward. Space folded around its massive body, and the creature vanished, reappearing directly behind Dexter.
Dexter’s eyes widened and before his conscious mind could process the threat. He spun backward, his saber sweeping upward in four rapid, desperate slashes.
"Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!"
Four strikes, each one meeting one of the goblin’s four fists. The creature had launched all four arms simultaneously, each fist glowing with dense, emerald-green mana that had been condensed into solid, physical form.
The impacts sent tremors through Dexter’s entire body. The ground beneath his feet cracked and cratered as the reverberating force traveled through his legs and into the earth.
His arms shook as his jaw clenched. The difference in raw strength between a Seventh Stage Superhuman and a Third Level Ultra was staggering. Every blocked strike felt like being hit by a tank.
Then the beast grinned evilly.
Four blades materialized in its four hands, constructed of compressed mana, each one as sharp and durable as a physical weapon.
The creature didn’t waste a single motion as it launched a barrage of attacks, all four blades swinging at Dexter from different angles in a coordinated, relentless assault.
Dexter’s expression changed drastically as he overdrew Flame Burst Step, increasing his agility to be able to respond thickly.
