As the last Four-armed Goblin fell, the market district fell into a strange quiet.

The entire district had transformed into a battlefield, littered with goblin and human corpses alike.

Heroes were scattered across the streets, panting heavily. Some were kneeling beside fallen comrades, closing the eyes of the dead. Others were bandaging injuries.

At that moment, the popular female hero called Regen stated to go from one hero to another as she used her healing talent to heal the injured heroes.

Dexter stood in the middle of the street, his violet colored eyes reduced till it settled on dark with a hint of red.

If one looked closely, they would see he had three rings in his eyes: one dark, one red, and the third violet.

But the violet vanished like it wasn’t there, and the red ring faded till it was barely visible, leaving just the dark one.

His eyes looked into the mall where Aurora had vanished with the Goblin King.

"Boom!" "Boom!" "Boom!"

Sounds of battle still echoed inside the massive hall as Aurora and the Goblin King were still locked in battle.

Dexter frowned worriedly. If the Goblin King defeats her, then it might spell trouble for them.

All of a sudden, a resounding boom echoed from the ruins of the massive shopping mall.

"KA-BOOM!"

Shockwaves exploded out from the mall as half the massive mall collapsed instantly and the other half had its roof blown to bits.

An entire freaking mall had actually been reduced to rubble just like that!

The earth-shaking impacts finally ceased, and 10 seconds later, space warped as Aurora appeared in the air above the destroyed building.

The entire mall had been devastated—half of it had collapsed entirely, and the remaining half was reduced to a single wall.

Aurora hovered for a moment as her silver floated in the sunlight. In her right hand was the severed head of the Six-Armed Goblin King, dripping blood.

She casually threw it to the ground.

"Thud."

The massive head hit the pavement, rolling slightly before coming to rest in a pool of green blood.

"Whoohoo!"

The surrounding heroes erupted into cheers and whistles. The nightmare was over, and the boss was dead.

Aurora didn’t smile. She turned and flew directly into the still-open gate. She was gone for barely a minute before she emerged again.

In her hand, she now held a treasure chest, the dungeon core. She had gone in to claim it, and this would ensure that the dungeon would never reopen.

As she landed on the ground, the spatial rift behind her began to shrink, its edges folding inward until it vanished with a soft pop.

The heroes cheered even louder. Aurora nodded at the group. Her gaze swept over the crowd, landing on Kinetic Man and Bullet Spear Man.

She gave them a curt nod.

"Well done," she said to Kinetic Man. "You held the line."

Kinetic Man smiled, nodding his head in acknowledgment, though he was clearly exhausted.

Then, Aurora turned her head. Her eyes found Dexter standing alone in the middle of the street.

She began to walk toward him. The heroes parted ways for her.

Aurora’s face was indifferent through which a small apologetic smile touched her lips.

She then opened her mouth to speak. "I apologize for earlier—"

Aurora froze. Her words died in her throat as Dexter raised a hand all of a sudden to shush her.

Dexter’s face changed dramatically as his eyes widened and his expression transformed into one of panic.

He didn’t look at her as his head snapped towards a particular direction!

Frost Sense was ringing!

"Selene!"

Aurora’s gaze turned cold. She opened her mouth to say something when Dexter exploded with Flame Burst Step and Godslayer Flash!

The ground beneath him shattered into pieces!

"Crackle!"

Blue thunder erupted around his right leg.

’Whoosh!’

Violet flames exploded around his left leg.

He combined Thunder Manipulation and Flame Burst Step, transforming into a blurring streak of blue and violet light as he dashed straight for his parked Vanguard V4.

The moment his hand touched the metal frame, he willed it into his storage ring.

The vehicle vanished in a flash of golden light.

He didn’t stop. He rocketed into a secluded alley between two collapsed buildings, hidden from the eyes of the heroes and Aurora.

He threw his arm out.

Golden light flashed, and a normal-looking family-type SUV materialized on the ground. The Type-6 vehicle!

Dexter yanked the door open, dove into the driver’s seat, and slammed his hand on the ignition.

The arcane engine roared to life, humming with terrifying power. He reached into his storage ring, pulled out a glowing green nexus core he had harvested from a goblin corpse, and shoved it into the mana-fuel slot beside the steering wheel.

The console blazed to life.

"Flight mode activated," a mechanical voice chimed.

The SUV’s chassis shifted. Hidden panels retracted, and two massive jet thrusters deployed from the undercarriage. Four smaller, directional thrusters unfolded from the sides.

Dexter gripped the wheel. "Go!"

"BOOM!"

The jet engines ignited with a deafening roar, unleashing a massive shockwave that blew the brick walls of the alley apart. The Type-6 SUV shot into the sky like a bullet, leaving a trail of blue fire in its wake.

Dexter pushed the engine to its maximum speed. The city blurred beneath him as he crossed districts in seconds.

In less than a minute, he arrived home.

The moment he reached the corner heading to his street, he killed the thrusters and descended into a nearby alley. The jet engines retracted, the chassis shifted, and four armored tires deployed.

He didn’t even wait for the landing gear to fully lock before slamming the accelerator.

"Vrooom!"

The SUV screamed out of the alley as he drifted around the final corner and screeched to a halt directly in front of his bungalow.

He didn’t turn off the engine nor did he close the door. He burst out of the vehicle and sprinted toward the house.
