Chapter 134 | Abyssal Emperor Heavenly Flame Might
The front door was already open and cold air could be seen seeping out in forget like foggy smoke.
He crashed into the living room. The air inside was so cold that his breath crystallized instantly into thick, white plumes.
The girls weren’t in the living room.
Dexter’s Enhanced Hearing tracked them to the hallway. He burst through the corridor and found Mira, Lyra, and Tessa standing at the entrance of the bedroom, their faces pale with worry.
Tessa.
Dexter was stunned to see the baker’s daughter standing there.
’The hell she’s doing here?’
But he couldn’t afford to ask why she was there.
He looked past them and into the bedroom.
Selene lay on her bed.
The entire mattress had been frozen solid into a block of pure, translucent ice that coated her body like a crystalline coffin.
The frost had spread outward from the bed, consuming the walls, the ceiling, the floor, and had already covered Mira and Lyra’s beds on either side.
The room was a frozen wasteland. The temperature was so low that the very air seemed to burn with cold.
The moment she saw him, Lyra’s voice exploded in his mind.
"I searched everywhere for the suppressant serum! I couldn’t find it anywhere!"
Mira didn’t speak. She simply glared at Dexter, her crimson eyes burning in a slightt accusatory tone.
Tessa stared at him in shock. ’Was this what Dexter deals with every day?’
Dexter didn’t have the time nor the luxury to say anything or explain himself.
The moment he stepped inside, he simply exploded with a wave of energy.
The Abyssal Emperor Flame erupted from his body like a hurricane as deep violet fire blazed outward from every fiber of his being.
As the flames erupted, the ice immediately started to recede, melting and evaporating at the same time.
"Tsssssssssssssssss!"
The frost on the hallway walls vanished instantly upon contact with the violet fire, transforming directly from solid to gas in a hissing burst of steam.
The air itself seemed to part before him, the cold retreating like a subject bowing before an emperor.
Dexter walked forward.
Each step melted the frozen floorboards beneath his feet. The ice parted before him in perfect, circular waves, steam rising in elegant spirals around his body.
He approached Selene’s ice-encased bed. The frozen coffin around her body was thick—easily six inches of solid, mana-infused ice that pulsed with the hostile, parasitic energy of the Eternal Winter.
Dexter placed his hand on the ice.
The Abyssal Emperor Flame surged.
"CRACK!"
The ice instantly cracked as the molecular structure of the frozen water simply broke apart. Chunks of ice fell away from Selene’s body, melting into steam before they could hit the mattress.
The frost on the walls, the ceiling, the other beds, all of it retreated, evaporating into clouds of white vapor that drifted out through the window.
Within seconds, the room was clear.
Selene lay on the bed, her skin ghostly pale, her lips blue, her silver hair damp from the melted ice. Her breathing was shallow and erratic, her chest barely rising.
Dexter flicked his right hand. A syringe materialized in his palm; the Grade-3 Eternal Frost Suppressant Serum appeared from his system storage.
He stabbed it directly into Selene’s arm.
"Click."
The serum discharged into her bloodstream. The warm, golden liquid spread through her veins, fighting back the parasitic cold energy that had nearly consumed her from the inside out.
Dexter felt the needle pierce his own skin simultaneously as the Ring of Shared Burdens transferred the pain to him as it always did, but he barely registered it. He was focused entirely on Selene.
He placed both hands on her body, channeling the Abyssal Emperor Flame through his palms and into her skin. The warmth was gentle.
And his control was perfect. He was a Great Grandmaster Foodsmith Afterall; manipulating flames was his specialty.
The violet fire carefully seeped into her meridians, countering the Eternal Winter’s parasitic cold at its source.
Her breathing gradually steadied. The blue faded from her lips as color slowly returned to her cheeks.
If she wasn’t resistant to Ice, she would have definitely died five times over.
Dexter stayed beside her, kneeling on the floor, his hands resting on her arm as he continued to pump controlled warmth into her body.

In the hallway, three pairs of eyes stared at Dexter with various expressions on their faces.
Lyra’s eyes were wide with astonishment. She had never seen Dexter use a flame talent before.
The man she had married, the quiet, unassuming house husband who cooked their meals and took care of them was currently blasting out violet flames so intense he looked like a flame god!
She had thought he might have been talentless but knew something wasn’t right when Dexter killed those two assassins.
Now she definitely knew his talent wasn’t worse than hers.
Mira’s reaction was different.
Her brows were furrowed as she stared at Dexter.
’Heavenly Flame?’
The Crimson Flame-Heart was an S-rank ability that had once made her the youngest S-rank hero in the city. She was obsessed with all types of flames and she could feel the one around Dexter wasn’t ordinary.
The heat radiating from his body was far, far hotter than her own S-rank flame talent.
If she had to grade it, she would grade it S-rank at minimum. Possibly higher.
But Dexter was supposed to be F-rank. The useless, talentless bastard son of the Ashford family. An F-rank mana affinity that would never amount to anything.
’If he has an F-rank talent, then what were these flames? Was it a second talent? Or did he actually manage to get his hands on a Heavenly Flame?’
She was quite surprised.
Dexter had shocked them again and again, and each revelation was more impossible than the last, to the point that the surprise was even starting to fade.
She had already suspected he had a powerful backing. This simply confirmed it.

Tessa stood further back from the other two girls, her green eyes locked on Dexter’s flaming silhouette with undisguised shock.
’Is this the useless bastard son of the Ashford family?’
The heat radiating from his body was oppressive even from the hallway.
’He actually possesses such high level talent and a high-level Heavenly Flame too’
It was as though she could see right through him the moment he exploded with the flame.
’What was the Ashford family thinking, discarding someone like this? As expected of a backwater family.’ Her lips curled as she shook her head, a mischievous glint in her eyes.
