Chapter 108 | Don’t Hold Back
Dexter arrived before a massive twenty-story building.
While it wasn’t the tallest structure he had ever seen, it was incredibly wide, stretching across the landscape.
[A/N: I was about to say "Stretching across the landscape like Bonnie Blues legs but it might not be appropriate lol]
There were dozens of entrances, sliding glass doors as people went in and came out of it.
He stopped at the main entrance and looked around. The violet haired girl had told him she would meet him here.
He scanned the crowds of heroes coming and going, but didn’t see her.
Then, he heard his name.
"Dexter."
The voice was soft like a whisper, yet it reached his ears with perfect clarity. He turned around.
Lexa was standing two hundred meters away across the busy place.
Before Dexter could even raise an eyebrow, she took a single step forward.
In the blink of an eye, the two-hundred-meter distance vanished. She blurred through the crowd without disturbing a single person, reappearing just five meters away from him.
She then slowed her pace, walking the remaining distance at a casual, unhurried stroll.
"Let’s go in," she said simply, stepping past him.
Dexter blinked. He had almost forgotten he was dealing with an Ultra-rank expert.
To someone at that level, crossing two hundred meters was no different from taking a single step. They could appear anywhere their eyes could see in an instant.
As she walked past him, Dexter noticed something else. She wasn’t wearing her dark cloak today.
Instead, she was dressed in a fashionable crop top and fitted jeans, her violet hair pulled back into a neat, stylish ponytail.
She looked like she was heading out for a casual afternoon of shopping or attending a fashion show, not preparing for a soaring session at all.
Dexter stared at her back for a second, then blinked.
It was painfully obvious she didn’t take their upcoming spar seriously.
The violet-eyed girl smiled faintly as they entered the building together.
Inside, the main hall was enormous. There were tens of receptionists stationed behind a massive, curved counter, efficiently handling a constant stream of heroes booking training facilities.
Lexa walked up to a receptionist whose station had just opened up.
"We want to book a sparring arena," she said.
The receptionist, a polite young woman, smiled and nodded. "Yes, we have several available. Which tier would you like to book? We have Ordinary, Standard, Deluxe, Premium, or the Presidential suite."
"Deluxe will be okay," Lexa responded casually.
The clerk nodded and typed on her terminal. "Alright, that will be $5,000 per hour. Please scan your card to pay here."
Lexa pulled out her phone and scanned the QR code on the counter. The payment of $5,000 went through in an instant.
The clerk produced a sleek, black access pass and handed it over. "Here is the pass to Arena 512. You can find it in the Deluxe section down the east corridor. Good luck."
Lexa took the pass and started walking. Dexter followed closely behind.
They moved past the Ordinary and Standard sections. The building’s interior was designed like a massive indoor sports complex.
Through reinforced glass walls, Dexter could see various open arenas, much like indoor boxing rings where heroes were already sparring with each other.
The sounds of clashing weapons, explosive impacts, and cheering spectators echoed through the vast halls.
They continued walking until they crossed the threshold into the Deluxe section, where the atmosphere grew noticeably quieter.
They reached the door marked Arena 512.
She tapped the key card against the scanner, and the heavy steel doors slid open with a soft hiss revealing the room to them.
’Damn!’
Dexter was stunned as he entered the room.
The room beyond was enormous. The entire chamber was an arena in itself, built for serious combat.
The walls were forged from graded reinforced pure steel, designed to absorb and dissipate the shockwaves of high-level battles so that combatants could go all out without damaging the surroundings or alerting the outside world.
Along one wall, a row of advanced measuring equipment was mounted.
It could record and track impact force, reaction speed, mana output, and a dozen other combat metrics.
Adjacent to those, a collection of gymming and running equipment lined the far corner.
Dexter’s eyes lingered on a set of dumbbells resting on a reinforced rack.
The smallest one was labeled 5,000 kg. The next was 10,000 kg. The largest read 200,000 kg.
He wasn’t particularly surprised. Superhuman-level heroes reached these levels of physical strength as a baseline.
Dexter himself wasn’t certain of his exact lifting limit, but he knew with certainty that it exceeded 15,000 kilograms by a comfortable margin.
Beyond the combat area was a private bathroom occupied one side, complete with a shower and changing area.
In the opposite corner, a relaxation zone with leather sofa, wall-mounted television, a mini fridge, and a fully stocked minibar.
"This is actually nice," he murmured, rolling his shoulders.
This was a place where he could go all out.
Every technique, every ability, every ounce of his strength could be unleashed here without restraint.
He could polish his combat skills, refine his patterns, and push himself to his absolute limits without holding back.
No wonder heroes flocked to these facilities.
As Dexter was still taking in the room, the violet-eyed girl dropped her bag near the wall and walked to the center of the arena, then turned to face him.
She tilted her head slightly, her ponytail swaying with the motion as she asked.
"Are you ready?"
Dexter turned toward her.
He glanced at her crop top, her jeans and the nice boots she was wearing.
"Aren’t you going to change or something?"
The girl smirked. "There’s no need for that, It will be over in less than 3 moves."
Dexter stared at her.
’Actually calling me weak?’
He shook his head slowly, then walked to the center of the arena to face her.
The girl closed her eyes as the mana radiating from her body began to shift and compress.
Layer by layer, her energy diminished, compressing inward like a collapsing star until it stabilized at a far more manageable level.
Superhuman Realm, Third Stage.
She opened her violet eyes. "Done. Are you ready?"
