Chapter 124 | Lord Have Mercy & Strange Dinner
But the face in the mirror... was handsome?
His jaw has actually become chiseled. The soft, rounded edges of his former face was gone, replaced by sharp, angular lines that looked like they were carved out from stones!
His cheekbones looked nice too and the baby fat was completely gone without a single trace left.
And his eyes were still their normal brown, however from certain angle, they seemed dark red instead.
Dexter was stunned and he subconsciously leaned closer to the mirror, his breath fogging the glass further as he glanced at the stranger in the mirror.
’What the actual hell?’
He could barely recognize himself!
His brows scrunched in disbelief when his eyes suddenly caught sight of his stomach.
He looked down at his body and was faced with a perfect grid six packs. He hadn’t even hardened his muscles yet but they were there as though he was born with it. And it wasn’t just 6 packs but seemed more like 10 packs.
He looked further down and his eyes widened.
’Lord have mercy.’
Dexter speechlessly removed his gaze and focused on the golden markings on his arms and neck.
They looked like tattoos, covering his chest, neck, arms and shoulders.
’Seems like the merging did more than create another bloodline.’
He frowned as he gazed at the tattoo around his skin
The merging of the Emperor Void Flame, The Golden Flame along with his Chaos Flame Demon Bloodline must have imprinted these marks onto his body as a byproduct of the union divine and demonic energy permanently branding his flesh.
’Sigh. Mira will certainly enjoy mocking me if she saw this.’
He could already imagine the conversation.
Mira: "Hehe. Anything to look handsome right?"
Selene: "..."
Lyra: "Are there more pastries?"
Dexter groaned internally. How was he to explain the sudden emergence of tattoo overnight. But he felt like he might be overreacting, the girls might not even care about it.
At that moment, the golden markings k. His body started to fade.
Within seconds, the runes had retreated entirely beneath the surface of his skin, as though they had never existed.
Dexter raised an eyebrow but shrugged.
"I’m definitely not complaining."
He turned off the shower, dried himself, and returned to his bedroom.
Dexter dressed in a dark t-shirt and joggers as he glanced at the clock.
’One hour behind schedule.’
He should have started cooking an hour ago.
***
Dexter entered the kitchen and assessed his options. He briefly considered skipping a proper meal and simply serving tea with the Celestial Moon Pastries. It would be quick, easy, and the pastries’ cultivation-boosting effects would benefit the girls during their midnight meditation.
But he shook his head. The girls were still thin, they needed a proper meal to end the day.
The question was what should he cook.
Dexter stood before the refrigerator, contemplating.
He pulled out vegetables, herbs, eggs, spices, fruits, and a thick cut of steak from the market.
Nothing extravagant.
He tied on his apron, activated his newly awakened Abyssal Emperor Flame, and began cooking with the Type II pot.
Even with ordinary ingredients, his Great Grandmaster Foodsmith skills transformed them into culinary masterpieces.
His control over the crimson flames was even more astonishing. At his command, they danced through the air, weaving into lifelike dragons, phoenixes, and blooming flowers before gently enveloping the ingredients without burning them.
Forty minutes later, a sumptuous feast sat on the table; a perfectly flame-seared herb steak accompanied by butter-glazed vegetables, a fluffy herb omelet, and a vibrant fruit medley, all infused with rich spiritual energy.
[Ding! Congratulations! You have successfully prepared a Grade-Two Spiritual Meal!]

Dexter nodded in satisfaction. A Grade-Two meal from ordinary grocery store ingredients.
It seemed like he didn’t actually read through the effect.
He set the dining table: four bowls, four spoons, four cups of tea, arranged them neatly and turned toward the living room to call the girls—
Lyra was already standing at the kitchen entrance, a fork and knife clutched in each hand as her dark eyes locked in the food, almost drooling.
Dexter chuckled. "You could have helped me set the table, you know."
Lyra’s cheeks flushed slightly but she didn’t put down the fork. Dexter sighed as he shook his head.
Selene was still in the backyard so he went to the backyard and found her sitting cross-legged beneath the overhang with hee eyes closed as she cultivated.
The rain had stopped and the sky was clear as the moonlight illuminated her silver hair, making her look like a goddess who had just descended to the mortal world.
She looked incredibly peaceful and also extremely beautiful. Dexter immediately inhaled sharply, calming himself as he called out softly.
"Selene, dinner is ready."
Her ears trembled as the vibration called out everything around her.
She opened her eyes, nodded, and stood up gracefully. She walked toward him without hesitation, her feet was bare but she didn’t seem cold as she entered the kitchen and took her usual spot beside Lyra.
Her hand found the spoon on the table without fumbling as her fingers easily wrapped around it the handle.
Mira was still sound asleep in the bedroom so rather than wake her up, Dexter decided to save her portion.
He placed her covered plate inside the microwave for whenever she woke up.
At the dinner table, Lyra was practically inhaling her food.
Selene ate quietly beside her with her eyes closed.
’Hm?’
Dexter felt like he was being watched. He looked at Lyra but she was drinking her food and Selene eyes was closed as she also focused on her meal.
However, Dexter couldn’t shake the feeling of being watched. Whicj only left one person, Selene. She doesn’t rely on her eyes but her ears.
Dexter could feel she was focusing entirely on him, mapping his body and the mana radiating from him with pinpoint precision.
He glanced up at her, but Selene was expressionless as she continued eating.
Dexter frowned slightly but shrugged it off.
Maybe she wanted something but didn’t know how to ask, or maybe she was waiting for Lyra to leave. He decided not to press the issue.
A few minutes later, Lyra scraped her bowl clean. She let out a satisfied sigh with cheeks flushed as she drank two glass full of water. Her massive chest rising and falling at the movement.
’Good night,’ her soft, melodic voice echoed in everyone’s mind.
"Good night, Lyra," Dexter smiled.
Lyra stood up and padded silently down the hallway to the bedroom, leaving Dexter and Selene alone at the table.
The moment Lyra left, the intensity of Selene’s focus instantly doubled.
Unable to hold it in any longer, Dexter set down his spoon and asked, "Selene, do you need something?"
Selene froze for a moment. She slowly shook her head, but then hesitated, and slowly nodded.
"Did you... do something?" she asked quietly.
Dexter frowned, confused. "What do you mean?"
