Synopsis
Liam was a twenty-five-year-old man who lacked a vibrant social life, as he intended to retire by the age of thirty-five, dedicating his entire being to his work. This dedication meant that aside from his colleagues and a few friends, his existence was quite dull. Therefore, when he met Sara, it felt like a stroke of luck since his romantic life had been nonexistent, and finding a woman to marry and have children seemed like a logical next step. Why? Because marriage offered job opportunities that he wouldn’t be able to access while remaining single. He figured it wouldn’t hurt to give Sara a chance, and to his astonishment, he found himself infatuated with her. Sara radiated youthful energy and introduced him to experiences that his mundane life had not afforded him, albeit at the cost of spending a significant amount of money. This is when his friends and work colleagues began to question their relationship, as it negatively impacted his work performance. Things were about to take a turn for the worse when Sara posted something that captured him in a highly compromising situation, showing him drunk and acting foolishly. While this might not be problematic on a typical day, for a senior associate at one of the largest law firms, maintaining a public image was crucial. Liam was terminated from his job, and although Sara comforted him in that moment, it wasn't long before she started to distance herself. When she realized he didn't have as much money to spend while unemployed, she began to spend less time with him. Liam confided in his client about his troubles, only to later discover that the same client had successfully pursued Sara AFTER he had shared his feelings.
