No one wasted even a single second as they kept the pouch, which contained mana cores, in Ethan’s palm.

Ethan looked at the pouch; he slightly tilted his head before questioning. "Isn’t this pouch costly? It definitely is a pouch, which seems to have a huge inventory space."

The others looked at him for a second as if they expected him to say that he was joking. But when he didn’t, the atmosphere switched.

Sara was the first one to laugh out loud, and then Max’s laughter followed. Even Sylv and Micah let out a snort.

A strange, confused look appeared on Ethan’s face as a thought rang inside his mind. ’Why are they laughing? I asked a genuine question because this thing surely looks expensive.’

A few more seconds passed; finally, the laughter died down. Sara wiped a tear from her eye before answering. "The cores that are stored in that pouch, even a single one out of all those, have more worth than this pouch."

"Preparing such a pouch is way easier than you are thinking, so why will it be expensive?"

Ethan was left bewildered; he hadn’t read about this in the novel because he used to skip all the filler information. Just because of that habit, he had to confront the truth.

But still he didn’t get passive; he simply cleared his throat and continued. "I didn’t know about that."

"Of course you wouldn’t because in the end you still are the son of the Duke’s family," Max said with dry humor.

Sara glared at him from the side of her eye. "We do not indulge in the backgrounds. Did you forget, or are you just trying to hit the hammer on the nail?"

"Because certainly I remember that from the first day I stressed that we will never include the personal life of any member who is in our party." Her words were firm.

Max didn’t try to indulge in an argument; he simply shifted his head in the opposite direction as his arms remained crossed.

’Yeah... I don’t want to make any one of them argue, but I also don’t want anyone to question me regarding the life I didn’t choose myself,’ Ethan said inwardly.

In the end, he was stuck in the body of a ’bastard,’ Ethan Pendragon. So he didn’t want to indulge in conversation that involved his life before he took over this body.

Sara’s attention shifted toward the motionless corpse of the boss. Without wasting any more time, she closed the distance between them.

She knelt and took her hand behind her back, where a leather belt pouch was. She slid her hand inside it and pulled a hand knife through it.

Right away, she pierced the wolf’s skin with it. With a huge slash across the chest, the insides of the boss’s body were visible clearly.

The blood splashed out through there, fell over the ground, and some of it painted Sara’s hand crimson.

She gently placed the knife on her thigh before shoving her hand deep inside the boss’s body. She seemed to be finding something, but whatever that was, it surely was taking time.

A couple of minutes passed, and finally she retrieved her hand back. Ethan noticed that her fingers were coiled around a blue-colored sphere, which was radiating with bright mana.

The light escaping through it was enough to light the entire room. Sara turned towards Ethan and walked closer to him as she said. "This is the boss’s core. You should also take this because this will gradually help you in increasing mana affinity."

Through the same leather space, she pulled a bottle of water. She splashed the mana core with water, which made the blood around the core wash away.

Ethan didn’t hesitate like before; he extended his palm forward. The palm carried the leather pouch; it already had its mouth open.

Sara put the core through the mouth and retrieved her hand back. Soon, she crossed her arms and said. "Now you should consume all the mana stored inside these cores."

He gave a tiny nod as a smile appeared on his face. "Thanks for giving me all these mana cores," he said politely.

"You don’t have to thank me because you also contributed even while being a complete beginner."

No one there disagreed with her words because they all knew the bravery that Ethan showed when he fought with the boss.

Ethan glanced at the group once before bowing his head once. "Thank you all for helping me, and a special thanks to Micah. Your healing magic and the buffs were definitely incredible."

A bead of sweat appeared on Micah’s temple as he bowed his torso right away. "T-There’s no need to thank me!! I was just doing my work!!" His tone was flustered.

On the other hand, Sylv was simply standing next to Micah. Her fingers were coiled around the staff, and her cheeks were slightly puffed as though she were trying to act angry about something.

A feeling of confusion fell over Ethan. He scratched the back of his head, completely lost because of her behavior.

Before he could think about doing anything, Sara leaned next to his ear as she whispered. "You should thank her personally too." A small laugh resonated right after.

Ethan immediately picked up what she meant. ’Oh!! So she’s the type of person who always needs validation? Yeah, she does look like that because I remember how deeply she hugged Sara before we came here.’

He gave a warm yet bright smile to her and bowed his head once. "I’m thankful to you too. It couldn’t have been possible without you," he said.

Although he didn’t see Sylv in action, he still had to say something, so he decided to fabricate his words.

Strangely, his fake words were enough to make Sylv smile, as small giggles followed right after that.
