Athena didn’t have any choice but to bite inside of her cheek to control herself from talking further. Still, she looked at Sara’s lowered head once before turning her attention to the opposite wall.

Ethan stepped forward, simply patted Sara on the shoulder, and said. "Please lift your gaze. Don’t hate my wife; she was just scared to lose me. Perhaps, I should really have attempted something less dangerous."

"But it is all in past now, and I am standing here alive because of you and others. So please don’t consider yourself lowly, you did your best to prevent me from suffering any major injury so I’m grateful towards you and your efforts, Sara."

Sara lifted her gaze, looked at Ethan, and noticed the smile on his face. It didn’t feel cocky but warm, as if someone was looking at their teammate whom they are grateful towards.

Sara had already imagined Ethan suffering major injuries multiple times in her mind. She had realized that they shouldn’t have taken him to that dungeon just because their squad was filled with strong adventurers.

She bit her lower lip, trying to compose herself from breaking apart.

Ethan noticed the look on her face; he had never imagined seeing Sara like this because she always carried herself with stoic confidence, which seemed impossible to break. But currently she was standing there with slightly glossy eyes.

A sigh left through his mouth as he turned towards Elina, who was just standing there while rubbing her hands because she was feeling overwhelmed by this strange confrontation between superhumans.

’I forgot about her... this situation might take a toll on her mental health because she’s nothing but a normal citizen. I should better change the atmosphere and switch the topic.’

His gaze fell on the dining table, which carried numerous amounts of cuisines. The smell of food filled the air, which made his stomach growl slightly.

GRRROOOWWWWLLLL!!

All the ladies turned their heads towards his stomach. Ethan noticed that they were glaring at him, but he didn’t try to act awkward and simply just rubbed his hand on his stomach and continued. "Long day at the dungeon... I definitely need some food right now, and I’m getting arguments."

Isolde, who had heard every exchange, heard then this sound of Ethan’s stomach. She finally let a snort escape her mouth. "Ethan, you really are helpless."

Athena sighed softly, her gaze falling to the untouched food before returning to him.

"Then please, eat. Otherwise, you’ll faint, and we’ll only end up having to deal with the unnecessary burden of carrying you around."

Ethan knew that she couldn’t carry him with her current physical conditions, but still he quickly grabbed the handles of her wheelchair and pushed her to the dining table. He went back to Isolde, extended his hand, and asked. "May I?" His tone remained polite.

She gave a gentle nod and extended her hand toward him. Ethan didn’t hesitate. He gently took her hand and led her toward the dining table, making sure to match her pace.

Once they reached the table, he carefully pulled out the chair beside Athena and helped her sit down. Soon, he sat in the seat between the chairs occupied by Athena and Isolde.

After sitting, he looked at Elina and Sara; a smile crept on his lips, which looked genuine and not fake. "Can you both please come and join us? I definitely don’t want the woman who helped my wives and prepared this colossal feast and also the woman who helped me in life-and-death situations to stand there."

A few seconds passed, but both of them didn’t move, but then Elina walked to the table and sat on the chair placed on the opposite side; Sara followed along.

They didn’t waste any time and started eating. All four ladies were eating gently, but Ethan was eating huge chunks of meat alongside the rice pretty fast, which made him choke a few times. He was eating huge chunks of meat alongside the rice pretty fast, which made him choke a few times. He had to use water to wash it all down.

Athena’s patience was running out, but she still didn’t say anything and kept eating her food.

Slowly the time passed; darkness of night had crept across the entire city. The sky was illuminated with bright moonlight; clouds were hugging the sky. A gentle breeze was entering through the open windows, making the temperature inside perfect for a beautiful and long slumber.

All of them had finished eating their meals; the food on the table was nearly finished. But Ethan? He was leaning back on the chair, rubbing his hand on his stomach. "I really ate a lot of food... I feel like my stomach will burst any second."

Elina’s voice rang in his ears as she chuckled politely. "You were hungry after the dungeon. But don’t worry, you’ll lose all of your calories tonight."

Elina looked at Sara once, and she picked up what she meant. Both of them stood up from the table, walked towards the main door, and left. Before Elina stepped out, she looked at the three of them. "I’ll be back tomorrow; till then, try not to break the mirrors."

She locked the door with a low THUD!!

Ethan was about to get up and leave towards the bedroom, but before he could, Athena looked at him and said. "Sit down, Ethan."

His body instinctively sat back down, and his back got straightened. "Yes, Ma’am."

"Now tell me, what were you talking about? You had to protect Sara? Was that so compulsory?"
