Then right away another spree of such translucent panels flickered in front of him.

Ethan’s eyes slightly widened, and his mouth opened in awe as he found himself blatantly staring at the blue screen.

He couldn’t believe what he was seeing because the panels floating in the air with such an atrocious amount of information were nothing more than an illusion.

His gaze turned towards his wives and returned to the panel. His mind was completely foggy, so even thinking wasn’t possible currently.

When he read the entries regarding the ’poison,’ he covered his mouth with his palm, trying his best not to gasp, or it might increase suspicions. So foggy that even thinking wasn’t possible right now

’The juice carried poison? Why was such juice kept in here then? Was it to kill me and these two?!’

He sat there, taking deep breaths just to regain his composure. Logical thoughts finally erupted through his mind. ’No... the Pendragon estate didn’t do this. As much as I remember, Arthur Pendragon was always nice towards his son. If he wanted to get him killed, he would have done so ages ago.’

A sigh left his mouth; he leaned back as he started stroking his chin violently, trying his best to fathom any outcome, but he failed.

’Athena and Isolde used to be two of the key figures of this world and ruined the lives of many people; some were criminals, and others were revolutionaries. But now when they’re crippled... people might try and take their revenge.’

He pressed his fingers against the corners of his eyes, wiping away the moisture that had gathered there after enduring the pain. Taking a deep breath, he pushed himself back up. A forced smile curled up on his lips, trying to act as if nothing had happened.

Without wasting another moment, he walked over to the two of them and scratched the back of his head awkwardly.

"I’m sorry about that," he said with an apologetic smile. "The earthquake caught me off guard, and I accidentally dropped the jar."

Although Athena knew what had just happened to him and what he had just gone through, seeing him lie about it in their face made her think. ’Why’s he lying to us? Or does he not want to show that side of his to us?’ Multiple questions crept inside her mind, but she chose to ignore them.

She didn’t try to point out what happened and just gave a polite nod in consideration of his words.

"I’ll go prepare something to eat; you both wait here for me until then." Ethan’s voice echoed through the chamber.

The moment he said that, he walked toward the kitchen. Slabs were placed around the chamber; on them, cutlery was kept. At the opposite side of the room, the sink was positioned, and next to it, materials to wash dishes were.

There were shelves made out of marble placed just below the slabs; he gently grabbed the handle of one and pulled it open.

A bunch of vegetables was in there, and they seemed fresh. He grabbed them and started cutting them nicely into thin pieces.

It didn’t take him more than a few minutes to prepare a simple meal of steamed rice and vegetables.

Once everything was ready, he carried the dishes to the dining table along with the cutlery. Placing a plate before each of them, he served the food before letting out an awkward smile.

"I’m not much of a chef," he said, scratching the back of his head. "So... don’t judge."

Isolde remained seated in silence, her brows raised in confusion. She reached for the cutlery, but her hand wandered uncertainly across the table.

Even something as simple as picking up a spoon proved difficult without her sight. Ethan noticed her struggle immediately.

Without saying a word, he gently picked up the spoon, scooped a small bite of rice and vegetables, and held it near her. "I’ll help you," he said softly. "Open your mouth."

Her usual calm demeanor shifted as her cheeks turned slightly red; a burning sensation erupted in her face, but she managed to compose herself right away. She didn’t want to deny

Ethan’s words after he did all this for them. So she just gave a polite nod and opened her mouth.

Ethan moved the spoon closer before gently guiding it to her lips. Once she parted them, he carefully fed her the first bite.

A couple of minutes passed; the sun had finally set completely, which allowed the gentle rays of moonlight to glimmer across the surroundings.

Through the window, a gentle breeze of night air entered the chamber.

Ethan had fed Isolde ate the entire food; not even a single grain of rice remained. On the other hand, Athena waited patiently for her turn.

Ethan’s gaze shifted towards her as he gently hit his forehead and muttered politely. "Silly me, how could I be so careless?"

He made his way towards her and started feeding her too. He patiently waited for her to finish the food in her mouth before he fed her another bite, and after some time, both Athena and Isolde were done with their dinner.

Now the only one who remained was Ethan, but he didn’t sit in his chair to eat. He simply lifted Athena back in his arms and placed her in the wheelchair.

He took hold of the wheelchair’s handles and gently wheeled Athena toward Isolde. Then, taking Isolde’s hand, he led them to the next chamber, which, rather ironically, was now their shared room.

The inside of the room looked even more costly than the rest. Walls were made out of polished marble, and the ground was covered with white quartz.

In the center of the room, an enormous bed was placed, which was coated with a white-colored bed sheet, and pillows were kept around its corners.

Two dressing tables were positioned next to the bed; one was on the left and the other on the right. Equipment like makeup, a mirror, and every basic necessity for women was there.

It didn’t concern Ethan in the slightest. Without a word, he carefully lifted Athena into his arms and gently laid her down on the bed.

The bed was enormous, large enough to fit several people with ease. Even after Athena lay on it, there was still enough room for the three of them to sleep comfortably without feeling congested.

Then, he walked Isolde to the other side of the bed and helped her lie comfortably. After both of them were on the bed, he finally took a sigh of relief because the moment he transmigrated into this body, he had been working like a madman for these two.

"I’ll be back in a minute. Call out for me if you need my assistance in any sort of way, okay?" He said before turning towards the door.

He didn’t get any sort of reply, nor did he want it. He just wanted to tell them that he was there for them, and he did so.

He made his way to the hall once again, sat on the chair, and leaned in slightly. His back rested on the chair, one hand rested on his thigh, and the other was providing support to his chin.

Food was kept in his sight, but he didn’t have an appetite. Of course, he had just awakened something strange named the ’Fate Investment System,’ and the rewards that he received after that were even more shocking.

"So to increase my strength, I have to protect and make my wives happy? Isn’t this what a decent male used to do on Earth?"

A chuckle resonated around the chamber as he continued talking to himself. "It’d be a lot easier than I thought to keep this family intact..."
