Invincible through Touching Corpses

Because Huang Tianyu had left a "Back Door" in the main control system, the first and second underground levels were like his personal backyard. He could open or close anything with a single command.

As Huang Tianyu input the command, Lin Xinghai’s extended Perception Power detected that the gate to the secret passage was slowly opening.

However, he was now even more tense.

They were still five or six hundred meters from the exit, but there were only 10 seconds left until the High-Energy Bomb detonated.

"Speed up! Don’t worry about anything. Just give it your all and follow me," Lin Xinghai ordered again, then instantly accelerated.

With Lin Xinghai going all out, nothing could threaten the lives of the other Wolf Hunting Squad members. All they had to do was follow him and keep charging forward.

As for Lin Xinghai, his face remained tense because he was silently counting down in his mind.

Ten, nine, eight... three, two, one.

Just as Lin Xinghai was about to finish his countdown, the members of the Wolf Hunting Squad, sprinting for their lives, finally reached the Alloy gate at the exit.

At the same moment, a deafening roar erupted from the depths of the base.

The entire underground base trembled and shook violently. The vibrations were so intense that if an ordinary person were standing here, their leg bones would have been shattered.

"Good thing we had the captain to get us here. Otherwise, even if we’d made it to the second level, we would’ve been seriously wounded."

At this moment, the members of the Wolf Hunting Squad were all chiming in, their voices filled with relief.

And that was with all of them being in the Blood Qi Realm, their bodies far stronger than an ordinary person’s, and with the protection of their Blood Qi Power.

For ordinary members of the Optimized, judging by the intensity of this explosion, the probability of surviving on the second or fourth underground levels would be quite low, unless they had a defensive Superpower.

As for the third underground level, survival was completely out of the question. One would have to have reached the Body Shaping Realm and activated their Divine Demon Body beforehand to have any chance of living.

After a blast like that, it was estimated that at least half of the entire underground base was destroyed.

Lin Xinghai, however, wasn’t feeling as sentimental as the others. He simply let out a quiet sigh of relief.

The thing he had been most worried about hadn’t happened. At least the three intercontinental missiles in the armory hadn’t detonated. Otherwise, the entire underground base would likely have been vaporized by now.

In that scenario, even having reached the exit, the members of the Wolf Hunting Squad would most likely have been buried here.

Even he, at full Speed, couldn’t guarantee he would be able to escape the blast radius.

While the others were still processing what had happened, the aftershocks of the explosion quickly subsided.

Only then did they have a moment to take stock of their surroundings.

Then, the sound of intense gunfire and explosions reached their ears.

Looking out through the Alloy gate, they were surprised to find an intense battle raging outside.

Previously, the terrifying roar of the explosion had drowned out everything else. Coupled with their own turbulent emotions, they hadn’t noticed the commotion outside.

But now, hearing the sounds of gunfire, expressions of pleasant surprise appeared on their faces.

"The military launched their general assault ahead of schedule! Looks like we’re safe now," Fu Yuan said, breathing a sigh of relief.

However, it wasn’t time to relax yet. He immediately turned to Huang Tianyu and said, "Quick, use your comms to contact the Military Department and report our situation."

"Yes, sir!" Huang Tianyu immediately replied. He took a small signal booster from his tactical backpack and connected it to his wrist-mounted computer.

He quickly reported their location and the current status of the underground base.

While waiting for a reply, he tried to access the local network again, and a look of surprise quickly spread across his face.

"The main control system is still running! And on the first underground level, at least ninety percent of the various instruments and equipment are still operational. Even on the second underground level, at least thirty percent of the equipment is still functioning. It’s incredible," Huang Tianyu said, amazed.

"Looks like they really put a lot of effort into building this base. The power of that explosion was equivalent to at least 100 Drilling Bombs detonating simultaneously, yet so much equipment is still functional."

Fu Yuan remarked, then guessed, "As for the server room for the main control system, it must have been shielded with high-strength Alloy to have survived."

At this point, Lin Xinghai spoke up. "Since the main control system is usable, try to contact the other special ops squads and ask if they need rescue."

"Also, before our main force arrives, do your best to seize complete control of the system."

"If you can do that, we’ll keep it. If not, we’ll have to blow it up to prevent any nasty surprises."
