45. Make a mirror prototype! Second part

I was lecturing Clarissa, who sat on her lap, on a prototype of a mirror made of silver.

I'm just about to mix ammonia water with molten silver now.

"Ammonia, take care that the water doesn't smell (or smell) directly. In the world I was in, it was designated a drama drug."

"Yeah, okay"

Clarissa snorted (nodding) at her usual pale tone. However, I can see that you look calm and ask me very seriously.

Her face, visible from the side, is enthusiastically poured into the materials lined up in front of her.

This time, he probably has a strong interest in making mirrors out of silver plating that I suggested.

I hold Clarissa's hand from behind and direct it.

Then, the girl actively tries to move my intentions.

He's enthusiastic about studying and easy to do even for me.

When I used her hand to lift a bottle of ammonia water, I leaned toward the molten silver.

As such, slowly pour the liquid and go.

For a while, when I'm working on it, my interest will hurt,

"How long can you put it in?

I've been asking questions.

You must be concerned about the mixing ratio between the materials.

Hmm, I ride out a little and peek into a jar of silver liquid.

"You've got a little sediment."

A fine brown object appeared at the bottom.

Sure, you should have mixed some more.

Exactly, I don't even remember the fine mixing ratio.

But I remember about Essence.

"There would be something like a brown bottom deception at the bottom of the bottle, wouldn't there? Until it disappears, keep pouring ammonia water."

When I answer that, the girl nods again and again in a way that impresses her,

Copy that.

And he said, burning a fire of intellectual exploration in the back of his eyes.

"... Well, I guess that's enough"

I'll signal after a while.

Then Clarissa stops pouring a bottle with ”pitari” and ammonia water.

So he asked with enthusiasm, "What shall we do next?"

Oh, boy, even though the mirror doesn't run away.

I laughed so hard.

"Okay, so let's move on to the next step"

I said so.

Clarissa then raised the edge of her lips slightly.

I know. This subtle change of expression for this girl is actually a full laugh.

Apparently, you're pretty excited about what you're going to do next.

If you look closely, your legs are also making you pra.

"This is the last task, but the final process is about speed."

I try to explain it as plainly as I can.

Clarissa blushed her ears with a serious look.

"When honey is mixed with the silver solution I just made, the reaction begins to extract the silver. I mean, silver plating starts."

I point to a bottle of honey and then move it toward the silver liquid that was produced earlier.

I felt like the girl's sleeping eyes were only open to me.

It's the finish of this work. I can't help but look forward to it.

"However, the silver liquid and honey react fairly quickly. So if, after mixing, you leave it at all, the bottom of the bottle will be plated as it is. Before that happens, the solution must be applied to the glass plate"

Clarissa.

"How long is that?

And I'm going to ask you a question.

Good question. Right...,

"In the meantime, let's target no more than 20 seconds this time"

"Okay. By the way, isn't it too early to do that?

Hmm, you're a really good student.

"That's a good point. Actually, mixed ratios and temperatures change the reaction rate. Therefore, we cannot predict the exact time until the reaction is complete. Except you don't have to react, you know, in a bottle, right?

To my explanation, Clarissa...

"!? Oh well..."

and I'm just amazed that it's urchin from my eyes.

That's the thing.

I'll see what she understands, and then I'll keep explaining.

"Anyway, this is a solution for plating glass plates. Anyway, I should have applied it sooner. And you just have to wait for the reaction to proceed on the glass plate"

Clarissa tided her cheeks slightly and nodded (nodding) like she was impressed.

"All right, that's it. Once silver-plated, rinse off with water and complete. Let's try it fast."

That's how we carefully reproduced the process we just said.

Pour honey into the silver solution and quickly apply it by brushing (peeling) onto the glass plate without setting aside time.

These fine tasks were just as well done by Clarissa, the Dwarf daughter in charge.

Even though it was the first time that work had been carried out, the liquid was spread evenly over the glass plate.

So much for watching and falling in love, they didn't think they needed my help or anything sooner (anymore).

That's why I tried to get my hands off you.

"No. If I let you go, you won't make it."

And attention just flew in.

Whatever you think, I don't think you need my help or anything...

I'll tilt my neck and say so.

But again from the girl,

"No"

and he was to get a resolute refusal reply.

Um, I don't know what that means.

Well, anyway, the work itself progressed without delay.

We anticipate silver plating and wash away the surplus with water.

Then, though slightly uneven, a beautiful silver glow, a mirror and an indescribable substitute appeared.

"Shh, wow... Such a beautiful mirror, I've never seen... It's like a gem."

That said, Clarissa is surprised to see the half-eye she's always slept with.

But I don't want you to be satisfied with this.

"No, not yet, Clarissa. After this, we'll overlap the silver plating one more time."

"Huh? One more time?

The girl leans (hides) her neck.

Hmm, still don't you get it?

"Take a good look. There'd still be a lot of unevenness in the mirror, wouldn't there? Only once really, the thickness of the plating varies from place to place. So, you lay the silver plating one more time to get rid of the unevenness. Then you'll be prettier."

Clarissa, in my explanation,

"Ko, more beautiful..."

and was shocked, and bewildered.

Hmm, from the girl's reactions, silver-plated mirrors seem to sell well enough in this other world.

While I'm doing that calculation on the inside,

"Well, we're almost there. Let's do our best to the end."

That said, again, it takes to get ready to do silver plating.

Then, with my word, Clarissa, too,

"Yeah. Let me make something so awesome, I'm exhausted in Dwarf Pledge. Good luck to the end."

and replied in such a way as to be in a good mood.

Thus, we repeated the previous work for the second time and applied silver plating, successfully completing the first prototype.

Honey included a lot of impurities, so I was anxious to see if the reaction would go well, but it was good to think of it.

Incidentally, its prototype number one, if you let Clarissa tell you,

"Good enough to be a good enough product to go on the market as it is"

It was.

It is for that reason that we decided to relax and discuss our plans for the future because we have successfully worked on the most critical prototype.

By the way, Clarissa doesn't try to get off my lap for some reason, she stays seated.

Now, with regard to the content of the contract, as far as I'm concerned, I'm not going to make it complicated.

In the meantime, putting production on track is a top priority at first.

There will be failures, so we have to have a budget that gives us some leeway.

With that in mind, I suggested paying an extra half a million, and then paying 10,000 guilles per mirror.

It would be a reasonable line because it is the amount of compensation, including the consignment of material procurement and sales.

I intend to try putting it on the market for about 50,000 to 100,000 guilles as a luxury product for now.

But...

"Masatug. I think the reward is too high. We should halve it."

And for some reason, I have now been proposed by the contractor to reduce the amount of compensation.

"Come on, why bother doing something to your detriment?

I twist my neck.

Then the girl had a pale tone,

"I'm Masatug's, so I hope you don't behave like someone else. So it doesn't matter if the reward is cheap."

That's what I said.

Um, there are parts of me that don't really make sense because I'm a child with few words... but I'll probably get to know each other a long time because the content of this contract is the content of a lottery of trustees, including the secrets of technology. He's therefore telling me that it's okay to discount the reward.

Totally. You don't have to worry about that, but you're a very disciplined girl.

"Oh, I just need one favor. Say no if you can't."

And he came looking at me with a serious look, dyeing my cheeks slightly.

I'm relieved to hear that word.

Good. It's easier if you say something.

What is it? Is it an increase in fees or a proposal for a turnover system for remuneration?

"I also want you to let me go visit or stay at the orphanage in Masatug. I don't think I can do it all the time because I have a store... I want you to stay by my side sometimes.... No?

He said so with an anxious look.

Well, you know what?

I'm convinced.

Surely you wouldn't be able to meet or play with friends your age if you were in a store or something like that.

In that regard, the orphanages have Lucia and the others, so they're great for making friends.

Again, she's still a young child, too. I guess I miss you alone.

Besides, there's nothing wrong with accepting Clarissa because she's also an orphan.

"If that's the case, of course I don't mind. You can live there. Come anytime."

That's how I replied.

"Really!?

And Clarissa immediately smiled with a clear smile after being surprised that I had given her a light acknowledgement.

Yeah, you were so happy when you decided to be OK enough to come and see me.

"Oh, it's natural, isn't it? Besides, I wouldn't lower my reward for that much. Get what you can. If you don't want to use it now, you should save up. I might use it in the future, right?

When I said that, Clarissa seemed lost at first, but when she pounded her hand like she'd come up with something,

"Well... if we're together in the future, it's the same thing..."

When I squirmed, one of them snorted.

Hmm, I don't know, but you seem convinced at last.

Good, good.

"That's right. Not so fast, but why don't you come to the orphanage I run for once? You haven't been able to talk to the Lucians much, have you?

To be friends, you'll need time to talk slowly first.

"Yeah, I want to go to an orphanage in Masatug"

Clarissa was intrigued and replied.

So I decided to go back to the orphanage with Clarissa.
