Kikanshita Yuusha no Gojitsudan

Episode 148: The Living Frontline of the Brave III

Although there was a slight glitch at the run, we were able to meet with the head of the adjacent facility when we met safely with Mr. Jae from Horse Farm.

'I'm glad young people turn their awareness to the field of care,' said the facility manager, who, after guiding us through the facility and giving us a tour of the field of care, created a place for us to gather a few caregivers who actually care for them to talk to.

In listening to all sorts of stories, there is still talk of power assist suits for nursing care.

The explanation says there are two main types of assistive devices for nursing care.

One is something that often imagines a caregiver wearing that features like a powered suit that holds or supports something heavy. The other is to assist caregivers in wearing and moving.

Although the type of objects that caregivers need to wear can't be used by people who have completely slept because they actually assist them in moving their bodies, they can prevent them from falling asleep because they move muscles and joints, and they are actually making considerable use of them in this facility as well.

They also introduced only two powersuit type items, but this one was pretty underrated.

It does seem to make lifting caregivers a lot easier if worn, but the equipment itself weighs heavily, and the shoulders and legs are strained because it takes a lot of effort and effort to attach it, even though it doesn't make much difference to support it in life after all. In the meantime, the price is nearly 500,000 yen per car, the durability life is short, and even if you think about it in a cost-effective way, you should end up working hard and using your body.

I have a dream about a power suit.

Reality is tough.

It was such an institutional visit, but there was one tangible gain.

When Itagaki questioned the facility's response regarding dementia patients wandering out of the house on their own from their own experience, he found that they still had similar problems in the facility.

I notice if anyone is there because once I get out of the building I'm going to have to pass in front of the office, but they can't always look at it because it operates with a minimum number of staff. In the meantime, we can do it if we try to get in and out outside the gate because the old people moving in are surrounded by large windows and low fences so they don't feel oppressed.

Of course, it would be preventable if fences and walls were raised and access from outside the gates was never possible, but then it would make life as if it were a prison strong for occupants. They can't afford to hire a guard on a budget either.

So Nan made the tenant wear a bracelet or batch-shaped outgoing tag and asked the staff for their opinion on whether or not to have a terminal that would sound like an alarm if it was further than a certain distance away.

Then there was a rather favourable reaction from the staff and a succession of specific requests.

Says he wants the tag to be displayed with a number, so that he can tell the distance from the target tag where the alarm went off, and so that the caregiver in need can't take it off easily on his own.

We wrote down those requests and thanked the facility.

Apart from that, I had one thing in mind, so it was a meaningful visit.

Let's go and thank Mr. Ji of Horse Farm later for the confectionery fold. Yeah.

"Sounds like you can handle it, right? The outgoing tag of Nan's idea. Sure, I've had a GPS for a long time, but the price was pretty high, and it doesn't make sense if you're not wearing a device. If the alarm goes off and the device just knows the distance, it could be small and light, and I think it could keep the price down, right?

On his way into the car and back to the office, Itagaki says in a tone that sounds as careless as ever, expressing only a little willingness to look at him.

Praised Nan also nods with a bright look mixed with horror and joy.

"I think so, too. I can check the details with the person in charge because I'm an electrical equipment manufacturer. And I've got one thing in mind, too. Can you give me two opinions? I saw the nursing home and thought..."

Nan also had an atmosphere where Itagakagaki, who said he didn't like to talk about it on his way home, had a bit of a pull-in idea. It was also a place to have an incandescent discussion.

"Oh my goodness!"

The date is flying and Monday.

I walked into the company meeting room with a big cardboard on my shoulder.

Morning, Kashiwagi-san.

"Good Morning"

"Chi ~ su. So it's baggage."

Akahashi, Nan, two people were already in the room, and Itagaki came in shortly after I entered.

No one is surprised to see the cardboard I brought.

That's right.

Eventually, the product to be planned was the one we proposed for long-term care.

Akahashi also fished the net and came up with a proposal called "Thermal insulation with home temperature setting function".

Many foods, such as yogurt and bread dough, have to keep constant temperatures for more than a certain amount of time. Although there are quite a few objects specific to a particular application, it has been proposed that a small refrigerator (something small about 50L) shape can be used to set temperatures in units from 10°C to 70°C once, minutes to days.

However, it was dropped off due to the fact that similar equipment was already available for business purposes and that the cost was likely to be considerable.

In response to the proposal of the two candidates for nursing care, I decided to create a sample of my proposal over the weekend, so depending on the result, I could plan both.

That's why I made a sample of the product I suggested and brought it to you.

The other candidate outgoing tag & receiving terminal doesn't make samples because the paper materials and oral explanations just seem ok because the image is easy to imagine.

Or because it will be a precision device in content, it is not possible to make the sample itself.

Mr. Green Mountain arrived a few minutes late from us.

I still have time for the company to tell me the start time, but they also say there is no need to detain me, so I will ask everyone to see it as soon as possible.

"Pretty big."

"Looks heavy."

"It's just a sample made by an amateur. I also made it sturdy with a lot of extra strength, and I think it would be smaller and lighter if it was actually professionally designed and made"

When you take it out of the cardboard and start assembling it, Red Bridge and Mr. Green Mountain make their first impressions, but it's within your assumptions.

"... you said you made this in two days of the weekend, seriously? Ome, what the hell?"

"Huh! Kind of boneless, but it looks like a real sale."

Itagaki and Nan's thoughts are pretty good.

The object I assembled, it was a boneless substitute with arms and two plates like forklift claws extending from the top of a box of metal with a width and depth of 20 cm and a height of about 60 cm, and legs extending in four directions at the bottom.

"Then let's try it. Itagaki, I'm sorry, but can you line up that pipe chair and lie on top of it?

"Aye."

Arranging the chairs with the same careless look, I move the instrument to the side of the slab wall that laid me down, adjusting the nail height, and then connect it to the outlet and switch it on.

Extend your nails and put them under your body with the remote control at hand while supporting your body so that you can float only a little bit of the thick thigh and back of the plate wall.

When another button was pressed, the nail slowly rose to the top and lifted the body of the slab wall.

"Oh! I didn't think you'd have a princess cuddle on your device."

"Oh, but it's still unstable if someone can't support it"

"Right. But he doesn't need that much power if he's just going to support it, and I think he'll manage if he devises a nail shape. Either way, we need someone to manipulate it, so I guess it's okay."

"Sure. Is it manpower to rotate?

"Oh. It incorporates bearings at the base of the arm, so you don't have to put so much effort into it to turn it around."

As you can see from the explanation, this device is simple: lifting and unloading the body from the bed or chair in the nail area. The nail length is set at 60 centimeters for once.

The only mechanical function is to move the nail back and forth, and up and down. A simple structure with one nail moving back and forth on the top of the arm and one hydraulic cylinder for moving up and down inside the body box, respectively, but the arm rotates with the bearings, so when you lift a person from the bed, you can flip it and put it on the wheelchair.

I visited the nursing home and noticed that the bulk of the heavy burden on the caregiver seemed to be lifting the needy caregiver out of bed or wheelchair to another location.

And that task basically becomes a common movement of 'lifting', 'moving (inverting)' and 'unloading'. Besides, most of the three places that have that task are beds, toilets and baths.

There are three drawbacks to the power assist suit currently available for long-term care.

The hassle of attaching and removing and the weight of the equipment itself, then the price.

Conversely, the advantage is its versatility, but as I said earlier, I wondered if the scenes that would be needed would not actually require so much versatility for bedsides, toilets and bathrooms that would require wheelchair riding and disembarking.

So I suggested an installed lift.

This would allow the basic shape to be used in various places as it is if the nail part to be lifted could be moved with a stopper or lever, the lower part of the instrument where the weight is to be hung could be a foot that could be moved, or the rail could be installed on the floor or fully secured with more moving parts.

It is somewhat unstable with two nails (two plates to be exact), but I am thinking that if we devise a shape, we can lift it even without assistance.

How did you make it?

Listen to me, Itagaki says, 'Is this what this is all about?' And he painted me.

That was so good, but I was surprised that I pulled even more simple drawings from it in no time.

Hmm, Red Bridge and Green Mountain gave me weighted calculations and strength calculations to use for cylinders.

... Koitsu and all the others are supposed to be literary, is this the average college student skill these days?

Anyway, if you could do that, then the metalworking would be a little bit using magic. The hydraulic cylinder was purchased after being introduced to the supplier by Grandpa Manoka's handover. I asked Saito to process the electrical system.

Anyway, Saito has plenty to lend that he was forced to do an unwanted cosplay. He cooperated with me happily.

It was just impossible to create the whole thing in two days of the weekend, so I moved to the kingdom of Arianus on Sunday night and processed and assembled it that way.

Like Red Bridge and Green Mountain said, this sample is a little silly big and heavy.

It's just like the drawings, but it looks big for boneless minutes with metal peeling. Anyway, it focuses on power and sturdiness, and it's almost all made of iron.

It's not very good as it is, but it would be smaller and lighter if it was designed by professionals and the materials were appropriate.

"I left it to you because I said I could, but is there a lathe or a milling machine at Kashiwaki's house?

"Huh? But in a normal house, your parents didn't say you worked for a trading company?

Yeah, we don't have anything like that.

"... here, there's no trace of welding or processing... can you do iron integrated molding at home?

No such scratches, please.

That's how we ended up deciding to plan our proposed two sets.

The other teams will probably come with a proposal for a single product, and if there is a common denominator of long-term care, so it's not strange to have multiple suggestions.

Then, for two days, specific material preparation was hand-in-hand.

Red Bridge manages the overall progress and gives instructions as appropriate for the creation of the overall layout and costing. Green Mountain creates technical materials for the products, Nan creates illustrations and diagrams to be used for the materials, and I check with external departments such as the company to set manufacturing costs and estimated delivery dates. I can't confirm this immediately by phone or email, so I will pay a direct visit.

It's almost simultaneous, so I was rushed to get ready to keep in touch.

And the day of the presentation.

There are a total of thirty participants in this internship. Six teams for each of the five.

The order of presentation was determined by the scraps of the delegates. Our team is fourth.

The participants on the corporate side included the first personnel who provided guidance and explanations to the internship participants, about twenty people responsible for the practice, including the Director of Human Resources, the Director of Accounting, the Director of Planning, the Director of Manufacturing and the Plant Manager of the production plant. The venue is a large conference room.

After a brief greeting and an explanation of the spirit of this internship, presentations by the participants finally began.

The first team proposes rechargeable cookware. The second has put out a thermal insulator with temperature settings that disappeared on our team.

Corporate members, who are in a position to receive presentations, watched it with warm eyes because of the student's work experience, and were not.

The manager of the accounting department asked detailed questions about the basis of the cost, the chief of the planning department put a scrutiny into the specific purchasing targets and advertising methods, and the heads of manufacturing asked sharply about the feasibility of the product.

... Relentless!

Because of that, the third team to present it shriveled and became Gdagda all the time.

Of course, the student opponent means there's no prick in the word, and there was nothing like reprimand flying, but it's still going to be traumatic if he relentlessly points out contradictions, sweet parts of the outlook, etc.

Well, it's our turn at last.

Internship experience gifts are not shared with the company beforehand, just like the actual ones.

On the other hand, it's a way of doing things that could scratch a great deal of shame if you're completely free to decide what's in it.

First distribute the materials in two parts.

"Here are two types of suggestions I would like to make this time. Eh, the demand for and importance of nursing care is increasing, reflecting Japan's ultra-aging society today. So our team actually thought about this product while visiting nursing homes to talk about it."

"... various companies entered care-related products at one time at the same time, but most of them have failed and withdrawn. Is that a suggestion based on that?

When Red Bridge cuts his mouth fire as a presenter, the chief of the planning section first releases a word of restraint.

"Yes, I know the factors behind the retreat will vary, but on the contrary, we can also see that many products were market tested. We look at so many of these products, and we hear from the staff at the facility who actually tried them, and we decide what to do."

Green Mountain quickly follows Red Bridge, who was a little freaked out by the planning section chief's eyesight.

"Uh, well, that's the first product. Oh, look at the material on the blue cover..."

What I suggested earlier was a distance sensing alarm for people in need of care, such as dementia. There are no physical items, so only illustrations and text materials. Still, the illustration of Itagaki was sufficient to have a fairly precise and specific image.

"Hmm. I see. Do you use a light wave rangefinder used in measuring equipment? But surveying equipment is quite expensive. Wouldn't that equipment be expensive, too?

"No. Measuring equipment is expensive because measurement requires precision. I think it would be nice for this device to measure direction and huge distances, so it could be kept at a low price."

"Can it also be used in the building?

"They say the electromagnetic waves attenuate, so the accuracy drops. But..."

"Don't you need that much accuracy?"

The two nodded several times as they were convinced that Mr. Green Mountain would answer the questions from the chief of planning and manufacturing.

In addition, the Accounting Director asked questions such as cost calculations, profit and loss branches, and the number of sales assumed, which Red Bridge had answered without difficulty.

It's not a bad feeling, I think.

Then start presenting the nursing lift.

The presenter is Itagaki.

Uncovering the preassembled lift concentrates an intriguing gaze with a little bothering.

I guess I was curious at the moment because there was no team available in kind. It's pretty big.

"Uh, actually, oh, no, my house had a grandmother who needed nursing 4 until two months ago. Caregivers were mainly the caregivers, but still needed to lift caregivers from bed to wheelchair, from wheelchair to toilet seat, etc. with toilet assistance, and even I, a 22-year-old man, needed a lot of effort. There..."

At the end of the explanation, various questions and scratches fly from people on the corporate side, but Itagaki calms down and answers them all precisely. The careless atmosphere when we first met is free of fine dust.

Because of the hands-on experience, I've been practicing materials and presentations quite actively since the proposal was decided.

Me and Nan ran the equipment and then demonstrated the lift and answered a few more questions and ended it.

Naturally, two teams gave presentations after us, but it seemed pretty hard to do. I'm a little sorry.

Mm, I received a general review from the Director of Human Resources, and the internship ended.

"Good luck, everyone. It was a great presentation with each of us ingenious. Just because you participated in our internship this time, as I said at the outset, doesn't directly depend on your adoption or not. But I'm wondering if what you've experienced will feed you whether you come to us or not.

Although it will not depend directly on you, we hope that you can also apply as a company as it will be an addition to your assessment during the selection.

In accordance with the guidelines of the Japan Federation of Economic Organizations, a general association of which we are a member, recruitment activities will begin with the reception of entry sheets in February and interviews in April. Good luck again for a week. "

'Thank you!

The last employee who took charge greeted me and really finished.

As a result of the presentation, it was not exactly a one-shot hire. It was decided to receive strict remarks that the consideration of the foundation to support, especially with regard to nursing lifts, could not be sufficient. Whether it is fixed to the floor or feet, it is part of the work that will need to be done to reinforce the floor to support the weight. Then the cost benefit would diminish, so they were still weak on that point.

Unfortunately, I can't help but think that the idea put forward by a college student will be adopted as it is.

However, the alarm received a good rating and they decided to consider it at the planning meeting.... what happens to copyright and trademark rights in that case? Well, it's nothing good.

That's why we're done with the internship, but we decided to make the launch because we got to know each other around the corner.

So, I'm wasting it in front of the company right now.

"I thought you made a pretty good presentation."

"I don't have a choice. It's an amateur idea. But when I apply to this company, I think it's going to be quite advantageous."

"That's the most important thing. Because I'm a little in a hurry with so many of the kids around me who are getting their insides.... I didn't get elected to the novel this time either. I wonder if BL is tough after all (Boso)"

I think I heard something from Nan, but I don't think I should touch it, so let's go through.

"Uh, and you're late for Itagaki. Oh, here I come."

We're chatting in front of the company for nothing like this because we were waiting for Itagaki.

I just left the conference room, and the company rep stopped calling Itagaki, so I came out first. What's the matter, I didn't seem to be the only one who cared, so everyone was waiting to kill their time like this. I've already decided on the launch shop itself.

"Evil, no! You made me wait!

The careless Buddha's top face is changing to a full laugh.

"You're in a good mood. Hit me."

"Whoa! I got it! I've been practicing at the factory since April and I work at headquarters."

... Seriously?
