Kuro no Maou

Episode 165: Zero Chronicle

On the 14th of the month of the first fire, the sky spreads with sunny blue skies that are summery, and the occasional breeze that blows through carries freshness and coolness.

This city called Sparda is truly spectacular once again as it looks at its streets.

Higher buildings are neatly lined up that do not seem inferior to modern times, and the roads are beautifully paved with cobblestones, tiles, etc. and even equipped with magical glowing exterior lights.

I thought the civilization level was medieval, but if you look at a city so well developed, it probably seems close to modern times.

Still, there are places like the Glades, but this is how the street boasts a beauty that is no worse than the streets of modern Europe, which is still a big deal.

There must be architectural techniques, methods of construction and systems that do not exist on Science Only's planet by virtue of magical benefits.

Such a dream and a lovely romantic sparda, but the purpose of the day is to find quests in the Adventurer's Guild, replenish worn out gear and items and plan on being truly business-like.

Facilities such as the desired guild and tool shop are located around the square, about ten minutes walk from the inn.

This square, where the giant black monument (Obelisk), an ancient relic, stands in grandeur, is so easy to understand that it is no longer a meeting point.

The three of us from Element Master are not wacky to meet, but for now, we came to this square as a starting point.

Even compared to the busiest holiday central square in the village of Iles, there is an overwhelming number of people.

This is still the middle square of Sparda, so how many people are busy if we get to Central Square?

It's the first time since I've come to another world that I've seen so many people overflowing with scenery.

I guess it's still better compared to Tokyo, the strongest overcrowded city in modern times on boulders, but still somewhere would be overwhelmed if this many people were in front of it, alongside a large, exotic building.

"Now, Sparda's a big city."

"Hey."

With Lily in her mouth with such a countryman rounded dialogue, she leaks her breath of admiration as she looks up at the obelisk of whether it will be ten meters high.

Obelisk, a kind of monument, is engraved with another letter that is not quite an alphabetical, otherworldly character that can be read, emitting a bright white light to claim existence.

If you think that Obelisk is ancient, it must be this typeface that is completely different from modern interracial characters: ancient characters.

Of course, you can't read it to me.

"Can Lily read what it says?

"Mmm."

Lily stares at the ancient letters of pale, white light that make her eyes look like plates and thrive well on black ground with obsidian shine.

Its eyes seem as if adult consciousness is returning to host an intelligent light.

"I don't know!

"Oh, I don't know."

Apparently, the sensible lights were my mistake, but they stroke me to reward Lily for her hard work, hehe, you cute bastard!

"Mr. Chrono, apparently this obelisk says something about Mia Ellord."

If you have Lily and love her like a cat, a dialogue of serious content flies from Fiona.

At some point, I don't particularly go into the fact that I'm flattering my mouth with small fruits like lychee that I think I bought from a stall around there.

"Really? I mean, can Fiona read this?

"Yes, of course you can read it"

In two ways, I'm surprised Fiona could even decipher an ancient language. After all, a witch is different from a magician there.

"'Cause that's where the translation says, right?"

Give me back my surprise.

At Fiona's fingertips, signs stood, such as a summary of the ancient language inscribed on this obelisk and how the descriptions of the origins were cordially and politely written, for tourists.

Of course, it's written in a different world alphabet letter that I can read.

"Um, so about Mia -- oh, that's what it does say."

Looking through the explanatory statement, this obelisk is about Nantkakakakantoka in honor of the great Ellord Emperor Mia Ellord, etc.

By the way, there is no expression of ‘demon king' that is passed down to modern times. It is united by the notation ‘emperor sire’.

That's true, because the Demon King was an alias given in future generations, and Mia herself named the Emperor.

"Apparently, something bigger is in Central Square."

"If you read the sole, maybe you can read a few more specific episodes"

Written using a huge rectangular area of about ten meters by three meters squares all in one cup, the beauty phrases praising His Majesty the Emperor are just hard lined up, and nothing is mentioned at all about what the Emperor himself actually did.

"Nevertheless, 'The Beginning of History (Zero Chronicle)' is an exaggerated name for a long time."

"The Beginning of History (Zero Chronicle)" refers to the black obelisk written about the Emperor Mia scattered throughout Pandora as well as Sparda, it says.

But it seems a lot more arrogant for Emperor Mia Ellord to unite Pandora and call it the first time people's history has begun.

That there was no history until then, no. I guess that's still what I'm saying when I say 'don't admit it’.

What a thought, a bit of a worn view?

"It's a strange thing, in the Ark continent, a word that has the exact opposite connotation of ‘zero chronicle’ as‘ end of history '"

"Really?"

And, although I think blurry, the mundane questions turn my head.

"Speaking of which, both Pandora and Ark have exactly the same modern magic (model) lineage."

That's not all, we all speak the same language and use the same letters as normal.

If you think about it, isn't that very strange?

Because the people of Ark recently came to Pandora, where there was no cultural exchange.

It would be too impossible to interpret that the same culture happened to form in separate regions.

"That's true, because culture today is based on ancient civilizations.

In ancient times both Pandora and Ark seemed to be in the same cultural area, it will prove that our language is normal, although there seems to be some difference "

To put it further, Fiona went on to say that if you actually compare the ruin-based dungeons of Arc and Pandora, it would be obvious.

"I've only ever been in a Pandora ruin-based dungeon with media ruins, but probably other ruins are the same thing of ancient civilization"

"Right..."

Convinced, at the same time, various questions boil down anew.

What's ancient civilization in the first place? Are you saying that thousands of years old civilization affects all that much to modern times?

But let's leave that intellectual curiosity aside for once.

"Not if you're sightseeing too long."

Yes, we're working to get back into adventurer life as soon as possible.

"Right."

"Ooh!

And, the two of you get my will and respond well, but when you realize that you're getting lychee southern-style fruit delicious up to Lily, it's utterly unconvincing.

"That's sloppy, both of you... I'll get one too"

Losing the temptation of a fragrant fruity fragrance, I made a firm vow to start acting genuinely when I finished eating this.

After all, I doubt how much it means to me to make a firm decision if I walk three steps...
