Kuro no Maou
Episode 167: What is a Trial?
I ordered a quest from a beautiful, loving, lovely elf receptionist, and I go back to the square after the guild.
While I was ordering quests at the Alliance, Lily and Fiona were headed to buy potions and other items and share roles.
However, although we formed the 'Element Master', we were completely oblivious that we had not officially registered, so we ended up having to go to the guild with the three of us.
I can't find anything to look for the two of you even tomorrow, apparently I haven't finished shopping yet.
When it comes to potions, is shopping for women still something that gets longer? I decided to sit back and wait for them on the bench near the center of the square where the Obelisk of "The Beginning of History (Zero Chronicle)" was built.
"Trial, or..."
Whimpering about that, he gently touches his left eye, which hosts a crimson glow, from the top of his lid.
Unexpectedly, it was an unexpected harvest to grasp what seemed to be the identity of the trial.
I opened the Alliance's Monster List in the first place, thinking I should fight powerful monsters of Rank 4 or higher to build myself up.
The boulder should be called a metropolitan sparda, or it was a different amount of information than what was in the village of Iles.
Well, in the end, as the receptionist explained, Rank 1 told me to refrain from fighting high-ranking monsters, even if they were personal, so it didn't make sense from what I found out.
But that's not the problem, I was more surprised than anything to discover what seemed like a test clue on the monster list.
Among the countless monsters on the list, certain monster names emitted red light to claim whether their existence was still there.
At first I wondered if there was a magical trick on the list, but apparently I was the only one who could see the letters with the monster's name on them glowing red.
It tells the adventurers around, "Here. It's glowing red, isn't it? Proven by the chilling gaze that when I heard," I saw the poor guy.
When I tried to close my left eye, the lighting of the letters disappeared and, conversely, when I saw it only with my left eye, it glowed again.
Undoubtedly, this red light is visible only in my ‘left eye’.
In retrospect, Mia said:
"My eyes will tell you what you need to do next."
Thinking of those words, this would mean that my eyes really taught me.
At the same time I'm convinced, they even remind me of the outrageous rough business of choosing my left eye and transplanting it to me as it is, and it kind of spoils my eyes.
If you mean God, you couldn't have done a holy eye transplant in a more divine way.
That kind of complaint comes to mind even now.
"It's horrible to say that, I cured you around the corner!
"... what?
Stepping out of my sight, there stood a child with the exact same face as the person floating in my brain until earlier.
"Mia, is it?
The outfit is somewhat different from then, but the person with neutral beauty with dark hair short hair and crimson eyes is Mia Ellord, who calls herself God, the ancient demon king.
The left eye, which was supposed to have implanted on me, naturally stayed there and lived the same red glow.
The black robes and matching garments are the same as the student-style people you saw all over the city and in the guild earlier, by the way, in the men's blazers.
Besides, Mia's hands have a cup full of delicious little fruit with the refreshing acidity and sweetness that I've also spoken of and a light, yellowish milk-like liquid that I've never seen yet, and all I see is a normal kid buying and eating around it.
But Mia, who looks like this Perfect Buy Eat Middle School student, made a grand name for herself with a pitch-black obelisk on her back.
"In any case, I am the Empire of Ellord the Emperor, Mia Ellord! Oh, my God."
And it was cute destructive inside to haunt with a pranky little tongue out.
Because I'm still like, "God!" and none of the godliness that I desire to worship, yet Mia's place of standing in me remains a 'mysterious sorcerer’.
"I need to ask you something"
For the time being, I decided to meditate my eyes on Mia's demise and ask only what I wanted to know.
"I don't know, if you don't touch God's rules, I'll answer and raise anything"
With a smile on my face, I sit down on the bench, and my shoulders close enough to touch me.
"The left eye showed the name of the monster, is defeating the Soytes a test?
It feels horribly underexplained, but this is all Mia will know.
"Yeah, that's pretty much it, but it's not the only way to take anything down."
"What do you mean?
No more yet, Mia throws the fruit into her little mouth while saying no.
In the meantime, all the names of the monsters indicated by the red light were above rank 4, so it would not be futile if the training dealt with them.
Perhaps if you actually fought, you'd have a new discovery about the trials.
Ask another question to Mia, who is tongue-in-cheek with "delicious ~" on the refreshing sweet fruit.
"So the other thing, is Mia really the ‘emperor' written on that (zero chronicle)?
Obelisk here doesn't mention anything about the Emperor's appearance, so it can't be a hint just because of his simple appearance.
"I wonder if I can prove it now"
"If we get protection beyond the trials, we'll know?
Mia replies with an ambiguous grin and maybe so.
Apparently, he doesn't intend to give a clear answer.
In the end, it will not be confirmed until God's name is proven in the temple ritual, and Mia's identity will be abandoned until she is granted protection.
"I'm sorry, if you lived in ancient times, you could teach magic and technology lost in this day and age -"
"Violation of the rules, what is it?
Mia, who looked just a little surprised, said, you're sharp, and gave me a word of praise.
"The Black Gods are actually people who lived in this world, and if a protected person is allowed to have a dialogue with God like us, there's no way no one has ever tried to hear about those lost technologies."
Still, in modern times, ancient magic has become a special category of non-reproducible ancient magic (enchants).
Ancient magic (enchants) is a generic term for magic that can only be activated in Great Magic Fixtures (artifacts), etc. excavated in monumental dungeons.
If that detailed technique or essential reason can be deciphered, it should have been incorporated into modern magic (the model) so that the same magic system can be created as it was then.
"Yeah, that's why I can't really talk about the old cotto"
Fine, rather than being weirdly blown into holla stories.
"And this eye wouldn't have any other ‘weird features’ on it, would it?
For once, it's going to be the same normal eyes as before, and suddenly I have trouble coping with it even when it starts to beam or something.
"Haha, it's okay, because there's a gap in the fight with a weird reaction, and it's not gonna happen"
Apparently, these eyes are the ones who can read the air properly.
Or is it this Mia herself reading the air?
"Well, it's time for me to go, but do you still want to ask me something?
I don't think I've answered much, but to Mia, who gets up off the bench with a bitter smile,
"Oh, just one more thing, then"
"What is it?
To Mia, who turns her circular eyes with an unusual expression, I decided to bump into the question that I had been smoking since yesterday when I first met her.
"Is Mia a a man? Is she a woman?
Then Mia got a slightly murky look,
"As you can see!
and drank and walked away appealing to the prickliness.
I squeal unexpectedly since I lost sight of that little hindsight in the crowd.
"In the end, which one is it..."
Mia and I had a very fruitless story, but it was helpful enough for the spare time waiting for us both.
Lily and Fiona showed up in the square almost like they misplaced it, and for now it was already noon, so I decided to finish my lunch at the right restaurant.
"Hold on, you're a great guy."
There is also this time of year, but nevertheless this corner, lined with restaurants, boasts more population density than we have seen in the square.
"Boulders are just called school districts, there are a lot of students"
Fiona is right, people stand out wearing blazer-like designs of clothing that seem more uniformed than they have seen in the guild.
Though I also see a significant percentage of people in there with a look who are clearly over middle-aged, they are still boys and girls of almost the same age as me.
Trying this kind of reminds me of when I was in high school myself.
Or, at my age, I'm still supposed to be a sophomore in high school, it's not weird to name a student on active duty.
No, you can't because you're not in school, you're a high school dropout adventurer, right?
"Chrono, do you want to go to school?
Was that me soaking up so much sentiment on your face?
"Well, don't lie if you don't want to go, but now's not the time to do that."
Unfortunately, I utter the words of giving up, but the words of denial flew in elsewhere.
"No, going to school is a good idea."
That was Fiona who should have no good memories of school life.
"Can't you tell me you've studied more now?
My overriding goal is to gain as much power as I can to defeat the Apostle, and my shorter, more specific goal is to increase the Adventurer Rank to fight strong monsters.
Either way, it is not a problem solved where we have mastered the Mandarin arithmetic science society.
"Oh, was it just the role of the school to do academics in Mr. Chrono's hometown?
At least in Spartan schools, adventurers can learn the skills, magic, and martial arts they need. "
Speaking of schools, there were only five subjects + an alpha image, but is there a school that teaches that because this is a different world?
Given that students normally received quests in the Alliance, it means they are nurturing themselves as adventurers.
"I see you have a tokoro like Adventurer Training House"
"Rather than magic and martial arts, ‘combat technology' is something that is researched, developed, and taught in these places, as it was in the Republic"
According to Fiona's description, apparently it plays a college-like role on the planet, wacky that the country's most advanced technologies are being studied in these places.
After all, there was a discretionary image of a secret magic study taking place in a place as despicable as a forest magician, but this is the world where magic is so widespread, it should have been studied in a large city without even thinking about it.
"Speaking of which, it's not been a year since Mr. Chrono came to the 'world over here', why don't you take this opportunity to learn even the basics of the basics?
"Oh, I might as well have a sole."
From the 4th of the month of the green breeze I met Lily to the 14th of today's first month of fire, it was only a period of more than three months, a time of varying density, but it is hard to say that I could learn the common sense of the other worlds alone.
For now, there is no problem in living as a Rank 1 Adventurer in a rural village, but there are many things you must know because you want to be on top of adventurers in a large city full of people like Sparda.
"Shall I find out more about what the school system is like here later"
Not until we serve our purpose today, after tomorrow. But, no, after we get to Rank 2, I guess.
"If I were to go to school, what would Lily and Fiona do?
I don't know what to do, but to be honest, my desire to engage in lost school life with both of us is pushing me to my chest like a turbulence.
These two would definitely make more noise than they did when they were in the original world, but they must be able to send an interesting strange routine.
"Lily went to school with Chrono too - hey!
"Oh well, then let's go to school together!
I wonder for a moment if Lily will ever have to send her to elementary school, but now that she's here and this adorable fairy is a 32-year-old lady, there won't be a problem.
"I don't think I'll have to live a lonely school life for both of you, either, so maybe I can go through it again"
It's still a slightly negative statement as to whether grey Elysion Magic College life is pulling its tail, but I'm still glad I feel the same way.
"Well, if I could go, I'd go to school with the three of you."
"But now I'd like to go to lunch soon."
Right, and with a bitter smile, we walked down the path of people's overflowing spardas, looking for a place to get in.
