"Ray? What's going on, suddenly you come back"
That's what I asked Ray in front of the jar, the guard.
However, it's not a guard with the harsh look Ray saw earlier, it's another guard with a more softer look on his face.
Ray was going to laugh unexpectedly just because of the huge difference with the guards earlier, but he manages to be patient and opens his mouth.
"Oh. I found the guy with the clue. I brought him in.... survival of the red cloth that tried to break the dirt wall."
To the word red cloth, the guard flips from a soft look and points his sharp gaze at the red cloth.
A man with such a gaze retreats half-reflexively.
(The guards burned their hands quite a bit on the red cloth. Can't help it if this happens)
Ray was convinced as he watched the guards change, but that doesn't mean he can leave the guards like this and frighten the man he leads.
"Calm down. After all, I couldn't do anything yesterday. Plus, I don't care what it is right now, so you just need a clue."
"... ok"
I can't argue with Ray's words, and the guards answer that.
Nevertheless, just because you couldn't argue with it, doesn't mean what you think about red cloth disappeared.
Because there is still something tough in the gaze of seeing a man in that evidence.
While he was exchanging words, Seto moved to where he had been sleeping earlier and fell asleep in the same way.
"We're going inside for now. I need to hear a lot from this guy, and it's not like there's any chance that this mastermind will put a chase on him."
To that word, the guards are reluctantly allowed to go inside.
... which also looked like acquiescence.
If that's how Ray gets inside the stuffing, the guards who were inside are naturally surprised.
Ray just left a while ago, so he's back, naturally.
That's not alone either, take one man.
"Who are you? So the fact that Ray brought you in has something to do with this one?
One of the guards asks that as he looks at the man.
Ray gives the same explanation he gave to the guards who stood in front of the stuffing... but if you still hear it as a red cloth, many people think it's not funny, their eyes sharpen looking at the man.
... If you were a man with such a gaze, you would have genuinely regretted having gotten so far in Ray's mouth truck.
(Uh, are you sure you're okay with this? Maybe... shouldn't we have come here? But Ray says the chaser's coming)
The guy was just doing a red cloth, too, and he's somewhat confident in his arm.
But that's only a story compared to the average person, who didn't think he could win first if he dealt with an adventurer, and that's the same with a guard with interpersonal training.
There was something mentally harsh about me being protected in a place with guards who would turn their grim gaze on me like this.
Nevertheless, if Ray were to introduce you outside of here, perhaps the answer is no.
"I mean, all you have to do is pull the information he's got."
"That's right.... but not by hand. In the meantime, the base over there, that's not disposable as Granger knew, we know the real base... what do we do?
What do we do? What that word means is, are we going to attack that stronghold right away, gather some more information before we attack, or are we going to keep an eye on the other way out, as we did at Granger's, or are we going to have other options?
Nevertheless, it is more likely that if you take the time to mumble than there could be a traitor among the guards, you will turn back again.
(Oh, with that said, if there's a traitor in the guard, isn't it dangerous to keep this guy in a jar?... Well, from what I've seen, the guards are trying to keep an eye on each other, so maybe we'll be fine)
I thought I had failed just a little bit, Ray, but I can't help it any more than I've come this far already.
In the first place, it was more likely that the traitor among the guards was not the guard in this jar, but the person in a higher position.... but only if there is a traitor.
Thinking it would be all right for now, Ray turns his gaze to the guards.
Even less, it didn't seem like some of those Ray was looking at were traitors this way.
... I can't guarantee whether the guards here are really safe or not, except that Ray doesn't have eyes for people.
"I don't care what they say.... Because of the hatred and the surprise attack on the guys who were keeping an eye on the base, there's not so many guys who can move quickly. That's where you can move a few people."
"A few. If you're going now, me and Seto are going too. For example, wouldn't a few people be enough?
Ray's words were, without a doubt, also true.
With Ningro Ray and Seto, that would be enough as a force of war.
So taking a guard would be to push the role at a time when there is a need to explain something to someone.
I guess the guards knew that too, but they nod right back.
It's not that I don't feel pressed... but that's why I originally thought the guard would do the job.
It is also significant that if we are to go now, the mighty power of Ray and Seto will be on our side.
It was only natural to align the forces as far as possible, beyond knowing exactly what they were prepared for.
Each of the guards on the spot exchanged his gaze, and eventually one guard nodded.
"Okay. Then this one will be ready soon. I don't think this number will be enough to get there right now."
There are five guards in this room.
Above and beyond that, I'm sure I won't allow myself as a force of war to attack enemy strongholds.
... I guess there's no problem with Ray and Seto in terms of pure force, but force in the sense of consolidating the surroundings so as not to let those who would be in the stronghold get away.
Even though Ray and Seto are strong, Ray and Seto are only one and one.
If the enemy escapes in all directions, we cannot first imitate catching all of them.
I guess if this means killing everyone, we can do it fine with Ray and Seto, but the purpose of this one is only to gather information.
Finding clues leading to the Cobolt mastermind was a top priority.
If it was one of the bases in the true sense, there might be something there that could be clues, such as documents, but the information obtained by interrogating those who captured it was definitely valuable.
That is why it would be natural to want to have as many people on the guard side as possible.
(If there's someone in the guard who's circulating information, it could be that it's going to make strange moves and be broiled out)
The raid at the base is also significant in that if anyone had circulated information in this one case, they might be able to locate the person.
"Well, that's why we decided to talk..."
Ray calls out to the redcloth man as he sees a guard who was inside the room quickly go and collect manpower.
"Where the hell is the other base you know?
He was Ray, who sees a redcloth man with a gaze like I wouldn't know if he spoke lies or delusions here, but even a redcloth man doesn't imitate the kind of idiot who lies here if he tells me his life is in danger.
... In fact, it's only Ray's prediction that a man is likely to be targeted, if an alias adventurer like Ray says so. I totally believed it.
I really don't think it would be strange if the assassins were sent.
"It's a house not far from the aristocracy."
"Near the aristocratic city?... even if it wasn't the aristocracy itself, how well, it was something that had its base in such a place"
An aristocratic neighborhood is, naturally, tightly guarded.
Because each of the nobles employs soldiers, knights and adventurers who look around the noble neighborhood.
Even if it is not within the aristocratic district, just because it is near the aristocratic district adds some degree of safety.
However, as a matter of course, it would be expensive to imitate that a building located in such a location should be rented or bought.
"Well, I guess that's why it was so hard for us to find it."
Some snort at that word that one of the guards shrugged... but one of them speaks the question.
"When it comes to renting a place like that, even if it's not a building in an aristocratic neighborhood, you need not only money, but credibility and all. If you think about it, there's a bigger possibility behind this than I thought."
"I'm imitating manipulating red cloths and collecting cobolts. I'm pretty sure he's not a normal guy."
"Uh, well, you know what? It's only circumstantial evidence in the first place, so it's not necessarily that the people who really hid the red cloth were behind the Kobolt case."
It is almost certain that circumstantial evidence alone is a mastermind.
That's when Ray tried to destroy the dirt walls he built to prevent Kobolt... and that's also when he asked Granger to let Kobolt and the others kill the redcloth men when the destruction was over, obviously you could say it was black.
But there is no clear evidence.
That would have been a different story if Ray had even gotten out in kind of a magic item where he could gather and manipulate cobolts, like he claims.
(Is it possible that a magic item is located in a base that is not a sham? In the first place, even though Gilm is big enough to call it a quasi-city, we can't have as many bases as we want... not translated, but it should be pretty difficult)
When that happens, the possibility is that there is a magic item at the base where I heard from the redcloth man.
Although, the thought was stronger that Ray might not be.
"Whatever. You should leave as soon as the guards are ready. The less information there is, the better."
In Ray's words, some of the guards give a subtly unpleasant look.
However, it was also an unmistakable fact that information could not be denied immediately beyond the possibility that it had actually flowed.
"I'm already getting you ready, so there's nothing to make you wait that long for Ray.... than that, you guys just have to keep them in jails, like Ray said?
Ray nods back at the guard asking as he looks at the redcloth man.
"Oh, do that. It's just not like you're a criminal... No, you're a criminal at once."
It is no mistake for a man to say he is a criminal, than he has done all sorts of evil things as a red cloth.
Nevertheless, the crimes committed by Redcloth are fights, extortion, assault... some of them are a little difficult to call misdemeanor, but still they haven't done anything like murder.
Even such a misdemeanor would certainly be more serious if the number were repeated.
"Anyway, it's an unmistakable fact that brought us information. Think about it, keep it that way so it's not cold or give you a meal that much too"
"... ok"
He seemed slightly dissatisfied, but still the guards nod back at Ray's words.
It is an unmistakable fact that a man's information is likely to move heavily in one case of Cobolt.
If so, you can't ignore a man's contribution even as a guard.
"For that reason, you'll be in a room from today on."
"... not very, but not very eye-catching."
The redcloth man returns it to Ray as if it doesn't seem funny, but you know for sure that relying on a guard is the best option to protect your life, and you don't say no to it while you're complaining.
Being in a locker and dying. If you ask me which one to choose, it is still the former that I can choose as a man.
"Look, let's go. Don't worry, as Ray says, I'll treat you better than any other criminal."
The guards urge me, and the man leaves the room intact.
"Hmm."
When the man disappears, one of the guards snorts dissatisfied.
As a guard, I guess it's still not funny to do something to hide a man in this one.
Still, I couldn't speak directly of my dissatisfaction more than I could possibly still have information.
