Legend

1998 Story

Time flowed, and after one of the eyeballs there was no particular major problem, and the season had spring.

Most importantly, even though it's a guild on the edge, it doesn't mean that there will be such a series of big incidents like one of those eyeballs.

... but Ray and his people are often involved in such incidents for some reason.

There was no winter cold anymore, and now many of them were returning to the Guild.

Construction on the addition of Gilm has also been fully resumed for some time now.

Not that many people yet, but that number will increase with time to come.

"Hey, what's going on with the wood in the Trent Forest over there!? Tell him to bring it over here!

One of the dwarves screams and is immediately answered to the words.

"In the meantime, there are five bottles I can take that way right now, but is that okay?!?

"That's okay! Anyway, hurry up and bring it!

To Dwarf, who cries out sharply, his men tell him to take the wood of Trent's woods to those he hires to do his work.

The man who gave the instruction scratches his head as he sees so many carrying wood from Trent's Forest.

"You're in trouble. At this rate, Trent's wood will run out soon. I heard about the alchemists working hard during the winter, but apparently that wasn't enough."

Phew, and a grunting man.

Trent Forest timber was a pretty user-friendly building material.

In the first place, it was supposed to be a few years...... in some cases it would have been a decade or more ahead of us if we did poorly, because we suddenly got where we got the building materials called Trento Forest.

However, building materials that are so easy to use are naturally needed in any part of the Guild where additional construction is being carried out.

As a result, there was a desire for wood in various places, a form in which supply was not entirely catching up with demand.

Dusker and those involved in this construction work are naturally aware of that.

That is why we are currently mobilizing all of our enthusiasts and adventurers to raise our rewards so that we can cut even a little more trees.

But I still can't catch up.

You think the upper management who found out about this case would have liked to have asked for a job during the winter?

Most importantly, if anyone would have asked me if I would have done my job when it was snowing... there would probably have been few people to take on just because the danger was overwhelming.

That would have made it necessary to have a reward available until it was extrajudicial.

Even in such circumstances, it is possible that more people flowed to the dismantling of Giganto Turtle.

That's why...

"Oh, Ray and Seto. Go through. He needs a tree a little faster. Hurry up."

As before last year, Ray, who brought the trees that he had felled in the Trento Forest into mystering, ignores the queue for the process of entering the whole city and goes straight into the gilm.

Some people naturally thought it wasn't funny to see that, and some actually hit the guards with that dissatisfaction... but the guards don't deal with those people.

In the first place, anyone who is outside the guilds on a construction project can get inside almost as close to the bare street.

... Now, if Ray had brought the trees that he had felled with the others, and the adventurers, no one would have spoken of his dissatisfaction that way.

Ray with mysteries can carry a tree without the kind of carriage that carries luggage, so if you try to be one waiting in line for the process, it's cowardly! And I guess that's what you're gonna want to say.

"You, you don't know? You mean he's got Griffon's Ceto, he's Ray, right?

I guess this is the first time he's been to Gilm. Ray hurries along with Seto to walk around the city as he hears his opponent explaining Ray and Seto.

Around where I leaked my dissatisfaction without surprise when I saw Seto, thinking maybe he was a big guy.

Sometimes the number of people was gradually increasing, or the number of people was considerably higher than in winter.

But naturally there are many residents of the Guild, and if you see Ray and Seto there are many who will talk to you.

"Ray, why don't you have a little skewer?

"Seto, I have some delicious fruit, haven't you eaten?

Many people from stores dealing in stalls, food, or ingredients speak to Ray and Seto.

For a store that deals with food and ingredients, Ray is a great buyer in bulk, and if you see Seto eating, that's what gets people together as a publicity.

"Sorry, I'm in a bit of a hurry right now. Let me drop by when you're free."

"Grrrrrrrrrr!"

Ray and Seto answer to each and follow the path.

That's how you arrive at the place where you put the felled trees...

"Ah, Ray. Are you finally here? I'm sorry, but take the tree directly to the alchemists, not here. If we don't do it in a little hurry, they're running out of wood at the scene!

That's what the man in charge told me, and Ray is just a little surprised.

I heard that we were running out of wood, but I still didn't think we'd get this far.

"That much? Just so you know, last year we had a pretty good pile of wood, didn't we?

"Oh, still. The same thing happened last year, but from this year's construction, they started using wood in earnest. Moreover, since we are working simultaneously on additional construction in numerous locations, we will only need wood for that amount"

"Uh... yeah. Is that why?... If I could, I wouldn't want to get too close to an alchemist."

To Ray's words, the man who said he wanted the alchemist to take the tree straight to him smiles bitterly.

Because I know why.

I knocked him down in the winter, eyeballs.

Ray gets a piece of the eyeball tail from Grimm as a material.

I got it back after I temporarily deposited it with Dusker, but for the alchemist, the tail was a pretty interesting material, I want it to give way... even if I don't have to go that far, several alchemists came to Ray asking me to do some more research.

Dasker had told me that the alchemists had told Ray to ask him directly, but it was unexpected for Ray that he would desperately come that far.

Naturally, Ray turned it down, but the strong knowledgeable alchemists couldn't have pulled back with it.

Then again, every time I see him, he tells me that he wants Ray to give up the material or look into it... and that, thanks to the resumption of the construction work, it was finally healing.

Even so, it was certain that if Ray went to see the alchemists in this situation, it would probably be the same thing again as before.

"I know how Ray feels, but carrying tons of trees is a waste of time.... No, I really have to do a lot of tests and stuff before I carry them, but they're going to do it directly over there."

That's all I'm busy with.

Ray exhales at the words of the man who tells him otherwise, and speaks to Seto, who stood still next to him.

"Seto, I'm sorry, but I have some business to attend to, so I'm going. Will you wait around here?

"Gru?"

Are you all right? Like that, a throat-beating ceto.

If you try Ceto, you'll think that Ray has a subtly unpleasant look on his face, so can I just let him go?

Ray laughs when he has no problem caring for Seto like that.

"Well, those guys, they're kind of busy right now. Before you can show me the material on that eyeball tail here, I need to process the felled tree."

That being said, even in such circumstances, there was a thought in Ray that he would come by.

Shouldn't we just use that tail to make some magic items, too?

I didn't think so, but Azimov...... Ray brought that material to the familiar alchemist who made the spear of dusk, but they say they don't know what kind of magic item it would be if they didn't examine the material and think about the properties closely.

I was told that a magic item to make appropriately can also be made immediately, but as for Ray, it is such an eye-catching material that I naturally want him to make a powerful magic item.

That's why the current Azimov thinks about the area...... that's why there can actually be no eyeball tail in Ray's mysteries.

Nevertheless, speaking of which, there is a good chance that many alchemists will come together where Azimov is, so there's no reason to make it public.

(I guess we need to delude the other alchemists until we can do that magic item because we talked about how bad it could be an annual job)

Trouble.

With that in mind, Ray breaks up with Seto and heads to the alchemists' workshop.

Naturally, an alchemist is valuable.

Alchemists from the original Dusker's men, as well as alchemists hired on a temporary basis, are well protected by soldiers because there is no need to do so.

Greeting lightly with such soldiers, Ray enters the building.

It's not so much the laboratories around it that the alchemists work as it is a place where wood is processed in a magical sense... it's in a pretty big warehouse.

Of course, magic items are available to make it a little easier for the alchemists to work.

Seasonally, construction resumed in the spring, but it is still cold in the morning and at night.

For this reason, heating magic items were available in the warehouse.

If this were summer, the magic items for heating would turn into magic items for cooling.

Especially the alchemists, who have been doing all the research from time to time, don't really move their bodies.

Ray didn't even know if that was why, but his resistance to the cold and heat isn't strong.

... Most likely, the alchemists don't want Ray wearing a dragon robe with a simple air-conditioning function to say that.

"I brought Trent's Forest Tree!

The alchemists who were in the warehouse turn their gaze to Ray's words like that.

Were the trees already out of stock, or were they simply in the middle of a break?

Ray didn't even know why around there, but I could tell from the sight of the alchemists that they had been directed at me.

Nevertheless, I guess that's not because I brought a tree... but purely because Ray came.

Yes, that is, the gaze because Ray, who has eyeball material, came.

While being turned to that gaze, Ray doesn't look particularly concerned about whether he's used to it already, and he calls out to someone who's probably entrusted with chores nearby.

"So, where do I get the tree I brought? We're still desperate in the Trento Forest, so I'd like to get back there as soon as I can."

The desire to return early in this case is also to move away from the alchemists who are turning their gaze to see the prey, and the person spoken to by Ray also understands it, scratching his head and opening his mouth as troubled.

"Uh, please go somewhere where there's nothing over there. I always have trees there."

The place the man had instructed was certainly such that he could place trees that had been felled flat and without particular problems.

"Okay. Right there.... I'm telling you, I'm not going to sell or lend you that eyeball material. Not much, definitely for someone who doesn't take his job seriously."

Doesn't that mean lending or selling that material to someone who did a serious job, according to the way you put it?

The alchemists, who heard Ray's words and decided so, change the color of their eyes.

... In fact, Ray isn't making any promises apart, but whatever, if this makes you serious about woodworking, there's nothing to complain about.

"In the meantime, good luck. Then it's time for me to go back to the Trent Forest."

"Uh... good job"

To Ray's words, the man who answered questions such as where to put the tree earlier tells him to do so as if he was in just a little trouble.

A bunch of alchemists had their residual gaze on Ray, but Ray didn't seem particularly concerned about it either... No, he intentionally ignored it and left the warehouse.
