Legend

2009 Story

The day after we had a fun meal with Kenny...... Ray's appearance was in the Trent Forest.

Nevertheless, it is not particularly surprising for Ray, as it is usual for him to come to the Trent Forest.

Every day we do things like carrying the trees we cut to the guilds - except when we go to collect the trees - and if Ray doesn't come, the presence of Ray is much appreciated, more than having to carry the trees we cut ourselves.

When Ray went to collect the scissors, and they weren't there, they were all physically pretty hard.

Originally, it would take an itinerary to leave the felled trees to some extent to dry.

Then, naturally, by drying, the moisture is lost, and the trees are lighter as much as the moisture is lost… Trento forest trees had to be carried in heavy condition because there was no itinerary of drying them.

They usually do the same thing, but they have a hard time carrying trees by carriage just because they don't have that itinerary.

Also, I have the adventurer protect me, but this is the Guild... I guess there is some mental pressure if you try to make it a Guild coming from outside the Guild.

When a monster strikes, it takes a lot of work to escape in a situation where you're carrying a tree.

Naturally, I would leave the tree and run away at that time, but if I did something like the tree being carried by the monster was broken or damaged, it could also have affected the magical processing carried out by the alchemist.

But if Ray is around, you don't have to worry about that area at all, so I don't have any objections to Ray coming to this place... not really, but pretty little.

Also, Ray brought in this spring, because all of them favored Ray - less on the surface - so they would not object to Ray coming to the Trent Forest either.

And as for the escort adventurers, they knew Ray existed as the same adventurer, and no one was dissatisfied.

There was no way anyone could have said anything if they only looked at Ray's appearance and insulted him, or if they saw Ray moving around on Ceto.

"All right. Now all the trees have been cut."

"Ugh. I always take care of Mr. Ray. If it weren't for Mr. Ray..."

He was obviously an older adventurer than Ray, but treats Ray as a qualitative being.

The world of adventurers would be one proof that strength is everything.

"Well, it's an easy job for me too... Seto?

There is no problem.

That's what I tried to say, Ray, but I noticed Ceto inadvertently showing how he was alert to his surroundings, and I call that name.

It is very rare for Seto to be so vigilant.

Monsters appearing in the Trent Forest were basically the majority of weak monsters.

Occasionally, high rank monsters show up, but still rank D and rank C are exquisite.

But naturally there's nothing like Seto being so vigilant against such monsters.

... Though, this is a border.

That was not surprising that Rank B or Rank A monsters showed up.

Could there be such a high-ranking monster?

That's what I think, Ray, who sharply observes what's going on around him.

The adventurers who were talking to Ray, and the other adventurers who were wary of what was going on around them, each reach for their weapon so that they could react immediately no matter what happened to Ray and Seto.

He also decides that some of the adventurers are dangerous, and begins to act to gather the scavengers who are cutting trees in the Trento forest.

"Gurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr"

It was Ceto, wary of what was going on around him, but that Ceto was throbbing as he turned his gaze in all directions, as if he didn't know where to be wary or something.

"Seto?"

Such a rare appearance of Ceto, Ray squeals Ceto's name wonderfully as he takes the Death Size and Dusk Spear out of Mystering so that no matter when or what happens.

The name-called ceto, as bewildered...... then, just throat.

(Hey, could it be... there's a monster with so much cover that Seto doesn't feel it, it's getting closer... No, could it be already there?

With a nasty, really nasty feeling, Ray quickly looks around.

Griffon's Seto also has a sharp sense of five by the time he is overwhelmed, a sixth sense… and the ability to feel magic.

Nonetheless, I could say that that was a very troublesome thing to do when such a ceto was vigilant around him but still unable to find his enemies.

Looking at the adventurers around him, Ray thinks about what to do.

If it's just me, I'm confident I can do whatever it takes.

But when there is someone who can hide from Seto, problems arise such as what to do with the monsters and those other than yourself.

Essentially, the job of escorting the guards of the guards can be quite difficult to work in because they are not so well paid, and people who stand up for their arms don't get much.

Some of them receive due to various circumstances, but there are a few of them.

In other words, many of the adventurers here as it stands are not even beginners… but are by no means strong among the adventurers currently in the Guild.

Fighting monsters that Seto can't even find while protecting those people is clearly challenging.

(No, it's more of a problem to be an adventurer than an adventurer)

The main request for adventurers other than Ray, who were originally here, is to escort the others.

And some of them are bloody, but regardless of the fights in the city, if you ask me if I've fought a life-threatening battle in the full sense of the word, some of them have experienced it, but most of them will not.

Protecting such people, not just adventurers, is very challenging for one person and one person, Ray and Seto.

(What do we do?

Thinking for a moment.

It was necessary to give instructions quickly, beyond the fact that the highest ranked adventurer on this occasion was Ray.

(Let them get away with it? No, it's a monster with the ability to just not even be found by Seto. Even if you use the adventurers as escorts to get away from the scene, you're likely to be targeted)

It may be possible for adventurers alone to get away with it, but it can also be that when even the twilight get together, they panic and each escape in all directions.

I was sure I should keep it on my side more than that.

"I don't know what kind of enemies are coming, but I'll take care of them. It's more dangerous for you to fight than it is for Seto's ability to defeat the enemy. You need to escort them."

You guys are weak. Several adventurers are likely to reflex back to Ray's words to decide so, but before that, the adventurer who was talking to Ray earlier opens his mouth.

"Okay."

That's an adventurer I was talking to Ray about until earlier.

What the man said earlier prevents others from expressing dissatisfaction.

… the adventurer was also the gatherer of the other adventurers who are here today, because in this case it must be huge.

"Helpful"

"But for having enemies, you don't have the appearance to attack me. Maybe you went to the gangsters?

"No, you don't."

Ray instantly denies the man's words when he sees Seto.

The fact that Seto is still so vigilant around us is because we were so convinced that it was definitely our side that we had enemies.

"If the enemy leaves, Seto will understand it. The lack of it means there are still definitely enemies near here.... Probably after the gap over here"

"If Seto doesn't know where the enemy is, I don't think he might have any enemies."

"You're gonna be okay around there. If you lose sight of the enemy, Seto will know, and most importantly..."

Without saying the words to the end, Ray turns his gaze from behind Trent's woods to the twins running this way.

An adventurer who went to call earlier runs the lead and is alert to his surroundings so that he can deal with it immediately if someone attacks him.

Nevertheless, its ability to explore is only to a better extent than not naturally being a bandit.

Still, Ray was so confident that the enemy would still be near us to get here without being attacked.

Even Seto couldn't find it in Ray's abilities more than he knew where he was.

(Really, where are you? Is this how you don't come out to put up with us and drain us? Or more for some other reason......)

Ray was thinking about his enemies' aim, but just then they arrive under Ray.

"... hey Ray! What's going on!

With two long objects, Death Size and Dusk Spears, Ray was powerful to the point of being unusual.

It was a breathtaking shock for a moment, but still asked Ray quickly, but what Ray returns is a short word.

"You haven't heard from him?

"I hear you're talking about some kind of monster, but that's all. If you're a monster, Ray can take you down, right?

Knowing that he understands the general situation, Ray opens his mouth if he asks what's going on around him.

"Right. If that's the kind of monster you're around, or if you show yourself, you can fight.... see how Seto is doing."

To Ray's words, the crooks... and the adventurers turn their gaze to Seto.

But the ceto, as always, turned his gaze around and wondered if he had seen the tree growing on the right, gazing at the grass on the left, looking directly above, looking at the ground, and so on and so forth.

Seto himself, I know something is nearby, but it was obvious that he was confused by the fact that he didn't know something about it.

"This is..."

They come up with things that don't make sense, but if you're an adventurer, you can easily understand how capable Seto is.

Ray had sidelined such an exchange, but he was alert to what was going on around him again...

"Grrrrrrrrrrrr!"

Unexpectedly, Seto squeals.

That's not the sound of ever vigilant surroundings, but the sound in the sense that we've clearly found our enemies.

That's why Ray looks ahead of Seto's gaze as he focuses his consciousness so he can react whenever and what happens... the movement stops.

Because there weren't any monsters there.

Instead of that, there was something out there that was indescribable.

... Yes, there was something in the space that should also be called ripples.

Ring-like ripples that arise when a drop of water is dropped in a glass containing water.

A dozen of those ripples are now floating in space…

Normally, such a sight is not very but incredible.

However, it is quite possible to see the sight of one's incomprehensibility if one were to live in this world called Elgin.

Especially if you are like an adventurer, encounters with the unknown are not common… but they are never all there.

Nevertheless, no one is ever more upset by the sight of Ray and Seto following their gaze than the adventurers gathered here are not so arms-standing.

Not to mention, the sight ahead of the gaze can't be anything if you try to make it to them. It was obvious that it would be confusing.

"Whoa, whoa! Hey, what the hell is that!

When one of them screams, the other faces are just as upset...

"Quiet!"

A sharp ray of screams echoes around before someone noises as the upset reaches its peak and confuses and each tries to escape this scene at will.

That's a powerful voice to the point of being overwhelming, unlike words like when Ray usually speaks.

Those who had naturally listened to such a voice that made them feel powerful as an alias adventurer stopped moving...

"Don't let them get confused and harden in one place. The adventurers will escort them! The enemy that came out of that ripple of space will be held by me and Seto!

Quickly give instructions.

If enemies appeared from the ripples of space along the way, it would have been a battle soon.

But from that ripple created in space, it still doesn't look like anything is coming out.

That's why Ray could afford to give instructions to his buddies too... when he saw those ripples start glowing slightly, he stopped giving instructions and kept waiting as he was able to move on to the attack at any time... Eventually, the ripples floating in space emitted a glaring light.
