Legend

2010 Stories

Ripples in glaring space.

Not knowing what would come out of it, Ray and Seto were ready to intercept at any time.

Behind you are the crooks and the adventurers who defend them.

However, almost all of those adventurers are more than opponents that don't have that much strength. If an enemy coming out of a ripple of space is a mighty enemy, it will be hedged and damaged.

I wanted to avoid damage there if I could, just because I was working on Trent's forest relationship for once, with some fondness.

With that in mind, raise awareness and be able to detect signs of an attack by an enemy even in a dazzling light… However, although I felt several signs coming out of that light in the immediate vicinity, there is no way that the signs will attack me.

What is it?

Even though it was a great opportunity to strike unintentionally, I doubt any indication of any attack coming at all.

With that situation in place, the light that was eventually spreading around disappeared...

"What?"

Ray accidentally leaks such a voice into the sight that was spreading in front of him.

When an unknown monster or something came out, that's what I thought and I was wary of... it was obviously people who were currently ahead of Ray's gaze.

Nevertheless, not a human, not an elf, not a dwarf... was ahead of that gaze a subhuman like he had green skin.

The number is about thirty.

From the swelling of his chest, it was clear that men and women were intertwined.

...... but is it a pedigree trait or chest swelling is quite small.

If there were two of us here, Kenny and Lenora, Kenny would say to Lenora, 'Lenora... it's your win,' as much as I'd like to say.

Also, there is a strong iron rust smell around, and the source of that smell, which I'm used to sniffing for Ray and Seto, is some of the subpeople with green skin...... no, the majority of them are flushing, from green liquids.

Ray realizes it, looks up.

Obviously this is... because it was obvious that the sub-people who showed up here brought some trouble.

Above all, the fact that blood is green is strange in many ways.

In this Elgin, blood is mostly red.

With only a few exceptions, some of them had a color of blood other than red, but as far as Ray knew, none of them were supposed to have green blood.

At the end of such Ray's gaze, each of the green sub-people looks around to make sure everyone is safe... and as if someone didn't find them... naturally, they discover Rays watching a series of events.

……

Ray and one of the subhumans gaze at each other and gaze silently at each other.

Behind such a ray, some of the adventurers try to set up a weapon... but the ray who guessed it squeaks sharply.

"Stop. Don't lay down your weapons for now. It's not like they're hostile to us."

"No, but..."

"Stop," he said. Is that what I said?

Ray takes his gaze off the green sub and tells him as he looks behind him.

The adventurers cannot turn against such a ray, and lay down their weapons.

After confirming that, Ray also puts Death Size and Dusk Spear on the ground again.

I would have liked to keep it in Mystering, but when I saw the weapon suddenly disappear, I couldn't figure out how the subhumans would react.

In fact, other sub-people who saw Ray's behavior and saw Ray and the sub-people whose gaze matched... and who saw the sub-people watching and discovered the Rays also exhale relief at the sight of letting go of their weapons.

(No, isn't that too much relief?

Doubt what the subhumans look like in front of you.

Though I let go of my weapon, I can only question seeing the Rays and relieving them.

(Or do you know a human or something?

Isn't that why you're so relieved to see the Rays now?

With such doubts, he can't fit in and there's no aggressive reaction over there, so Ray stays unarmed and approaches a sub-man who gazed at himself earlier.

The subhuman man tried to step back for a moment to see how Ray was doing like that, but stomped and then stepped forward.

As such, Ray and the sub-man approached... the sub-group of people behind them had not shown themselves to be worried, but there was nothing like actually acting on them.

Eventually, both sides stop moving as Ray and the sub-man approach the distance they reach.

●●●●●●●●●

"... what?

The moment the man opened his mouth, the words that came out of his mouth, though not very much, were incomprehensible to Ray.

"Uh... hey? Can you understand my words?

For once, it was Ray who asked in such a way as really once, but the sub-man in front of him tilts his neck like he has no idea what Ray is talking about.

"Uh... yeah. I mean, is the language different? I mean..."

Didn't you come from another world?

The question in such a ray rapidly reinforces the persuasion.

"What am I supposed to do?

I have no idea what to do in this case, beyond being someone I'm not completely comfortable with.

If he was the kind of opponent that would strike without thinking, Ray would have fought back as well.

But they wore decent clothes, they had their own weapons and thoughts, and they wanted to discuss it without attacking the Rays while they were there.

Not a monster like Goblin, obviously intelligent, trying to be friendly with this one.

Also, from the drifting iron rust smell, I'm bleeding green...... I mean, I was certain there were people who were injured.

"Uh, Mr. Ray. In the meantime, many people are injured over there, so why not treat them? In the meantime, I was wondering if I should put you in touch with Gilm."

That's what the man leading today's adventurers says, but as Ray, I can't totally nod to that word.

Perhaps only Ray can worry about that on this occasion.

I mean, if these green sub-people are from different worlds, can we use potions like the Rays use?

Potions are naturally made on the assumption that they will be used by the people of this world.

If this was the red blood shed by the green subpeople, Ray wouldn't have worried about that either.

But it's the green blood that these sub-people are running.

It was even possible that if we used the potion we were using on such subpeople, we would kill them by strange reactions if we did poorly.

(But given this dark blood odor, if you do poorly, you could die of a lot of bleeding. Then healing magic? No, I can't use healing magic in the first place, and before that, healing magic really works on these guys just like potions?

It was Ray wondering what to do, but one of the green sub-men falls straight into the ground while he's lost.

Obviously weak and could probably die as it is.

So decided...... exhale to give up and Ray takes the potion out of the mistering.

That's not a cheap potion either, it's a fancy potion that needs a few gold coins to buy.

The potion, Ray offers to the green sub-man in front of him… the man who looks worried about his fallen opponent.

●●●●●●●●●●●●

A subhuman looks at Ray's offered potion and gives him a strange look, saying words he still doesn't understand.

Seeing that, it was obvious that the sub-people in front of them didn't know what that potion was.

In other words, is there no potion in the world where these sub-people were, or is it not normally available with a very valuable substitute?

Ray didn't even know what was going on around there, but there's a very good chance that a sub who fell to the ground would die as it were.

He manages to gesture and show the contents of the potion to be hung on the injured part, and after a few minutes altogether, he manages to convey Ray's intentions to the subhuman man.

Some say the Rays weren't acting hostile, but the sub-man heads under his fellow falling on the ground with a potion.

(I had seen or read something when I was in Japan that if I had a body language, I could generally do something about it even if the words didn't make sense, but that was true.)

While I think so, I'll see if the potion really works for the subpeople.

If the potion doesn't work, think about using the gem that you got when you went to Anesis that sealed your healing magic.

... Most importantly, restorative magic, like potions, is only presupposed to be used against creatures in this world.

There was such a question as to whether it would work for those sub-people in such a situation, but it is comforting to Ray that there is some means at times of need.

At the end of Ray's gaze, a sub who had fallen injured softly waves a potion from Ray.

Nevertheless, you didn't completely believe the potion that Ray gave you over there either, little by little, that's what hangs over the injury in such a way as a drop or two.

Then the effect was dramatic.

● ●

Those who were injured scream something.

I knew you couldn't do it for a second? I thought Ray tried to retrieve the sealed gem of healing magic, but the movement stops immediately.

Because the face of the injured and screaming subhuman had gone from pain to surprise.

If the potion didn't work, that's what the man would have done, even with the shock of a drop of potion, when he felt pain, when he would have endured it, and when he would have yelled at the pain.

But it must have been better than surprised to see that look on your face.

As Ray looks at him with that in mind, the sub-man who gave him the potion hangs another drop, two drops and where he was injured.

(But wouldn't that work too well for you? Pretty expensive potion, I'm pretty sure, but I still don't think a drop or two would work that far)

I would also question that, but given the current situation, that irregular is not something to be dissatisfied with, even if it is to be helpful.

Ray also... And while Seto and the other adventurers are watching, the fallen sub eventually uses about half the potion, which makes the wounds he suffered in many places in his body all the faster.

(Cuts... right, that)

Ray's five senses are sharper than people's, though from a little further away.

Even from this position, the injury sustained by the man could be confirmed firmly.

If you look at the other subpeople again, there are people who suffer various wounds besides cuts.

Inside, there were even those with arrows stabbed in their arms, and once again Ray considered the identity of these subhuman beings.

This is all the wounds, and around thirty of them have come.

For example, if you simply think about it, you've lost the battle and taken refuge in this world... etc.

(When that happens...)

I could imagine why these sub-people had been evacuated, but if it had hit me, I was certain it would taste a lot worse.

If the technology that has been transferred is specific to these subpeople, there is no problem.

But if the technology of transferring to another world is common, and those who attacked these sub-people have not yet given up...

"Somebody tell Master Dusker as soon as possible... no, I'm going? But..."

Say it, Ray worries about what to do.

We need to inform Dusker of this as soon as possible.

In that case, Ray would be able to travel to the Guild even immediately if he rode Seto.

But... so while reporting, what happens if hostile beings come from different worlds after these subhuman beings?

Most of us here, as adventurers... no, as adventurers of the Guild, we can't say we stand up.

At the very least, if there is a face of the Red Lotus Wings that Ray is partying with here, I can do things like if I leave it to you to grab it on Seto's feet and move it to the Guild.

(No, I can't help thinking about that in the present situation. then......)

Ray thinks only a little and eventually makes a decision.

"Who here is confident in horseback riding?

Several raise their hands to Ray, who tells them so.

Ray doesn't even know who's the best at horseback riding.

So choose one appropriately from among those who raised their hands, and open their mouths to the man.

"Use the carriage horse and hurry to the gilm. You can use my name, go to the Lords' Hall and let Master Dusker know about this."

To that word, the adventurer who raised his hand immediately ran toward the horse connected to the carriage.
