2013 Story

"Ray."

The carriage that came, two.

A guard stepping out of one of them calls out to Ray like that.

Ray also knew who the guard was.

Sometimes we looked at each other several times in one of the Cobolts that happened in the winter, and since then, he's been the one who looked at each other more than once.

"Well done for coming... I'd like to say I'm scared to look at you guys"

Ray returns that to the guards, looking at the green sub-people who are at a distance at some point.

But even as a guard who's been told that, I'm in more trouble than I've done anything in particular.

"That being said, what have we done?

"I don't think I did anything special.... Simply because they're all dressed the same, or something?

"No, don't be impotent. It doesn't taste good that guards don't wear uniforms."

"I'm comfortable with that word. But those guys... maybe a uniform as unified as a guard or something... ceto?

"Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!"

Ray, who was talking to the guard, sees Ceto inadvertently stand up and look at a certain point, making a caged squeal of war, questionable.

But when I understand where one thing Seto is looking at, I immediately take out the Death Size and Dusk Spear that was stored in Mystering.

"Oh, hey, Ray?

Suddenly Ray's actions are voiced by guards who talked to him until a moment ago, and by a green sub-man who was negotiating with Ray.

Especially when the Green Subman revealed a sense of alarm that they might be attacked by Ray's sudden behavior, but when Ray and Seto understood that the place they were looking was not themselves… the space where they appeared, they immediately shouted to their companions.

The Rays, adventurers, guards, etc. didn't know exactly what that word meant, but if you still see all the green sub-people getting away from where they were earlier, and running away to the Rays, you can understand that they're telling you to get away from the spot. And...

"Here we come. Be vigilant."

There are several ripples in space… that's what Ray screams where more numerous ripples have appeared than earlier, from the ripples of space… perhaps visitors from different worlds, as if such ray screams had triggered them.

However, this visitor was different from earlier.

Because it wasn't just one kind of race.

One is a green subhuman, like the first one to have metastasized here.

But the other one is what you should call a Lizardman.

However, the difference with a regular Lizardman is that that Lizardman is clearly coming with metal armor and has a weapon.

There are Lizardmans in this world, but they are still not intelligent enough to build civilization on their own.

They often use weapons and protective equipment such as long swords and shields, but that's basically what took them away from adventurers.

But Lizardman, who emerged from the ripples of space, is all wearing matching armor and a matching weapon, just as the guards are wearing the same uniform.

That was obviously not something like taking from someone, but exposing that they belonged to a group such as the troops and the military.

And most of all, it surprised Ray... because he was attacking those green sub-men who came out with that Lizardman and his thinkers.

Some of the green sub-people are also injured.

That's why few green sub-people are injured more than Ray used potions to treat earlier.

● ● ●●●●

An individual wearing luxurious armor among Lizardmans screams sharply.

The other Lizardmans who heard it stopped attacking the green sub-man in front of them and quickly went back under the Lizardman who screamed.

Just looking at it showed that the Lizardmans were highly intelligent and that on top of that, they had just the right discipline to follow orders from above quickly.

"... what do you think?

In this case, Ray asks the guard, wondering how to make a decision.

But even if I try to be that guard, I suddenly look at the Lizardmans who have transferred from somewhere, and then I look at the green subs being attacked by the Lizardmans, wondering how to react to Ray's words.

What is currently happening in front of the guards is something I don't understand at all.

I've heard some circumstances, but such a sight, far exceeding that expectation.

"No matter what they say... honestly, I don't know what to do either..."

He was a guard who told me like I was confused, but you found those Rays, the Lizardman who gave the order earlier, probably the greatest one here, approaching the Rays.

●●●●●●●● ● ● ● ●●●●●●●●●●●●

As always, I don't understand what the word is saying, just like the green sub-people.

Still, from the atmosphere, he's asking something somehow... no, I know he's asking questions.

What do we do? And Ray turns his gaze on the guard, but the guard asks Ray for his gaze, like he leaves it to Ray.

If it were military men from other countries who were here, the guards would have themselves out front, too.

But it's the Lizardman here... it's not just the Lizardman either, it's obviously someone with the same level of intelligence as a human being.

Exactly an unknown being for guards, and that's why I left it to Ray, who as an adventurer is accustomed to dealing with unknown beings.

Left to the guards, Ray leaves without a death-size and dusk spear and leaves in front of the Lizardman with the blade pointing down.

Lizardman glanced at Ray like that, and when he learned that the weapon in his possession was clearly Ray, two extra long objects, he glanced at Ray in a clearly ridiculous manner.

If Lizardman were a Gilm person...... no, even a person in this world could have known, as an adventurer with two sickles and a spear in each and following a griffon ceto.

But if Ray were to be as different worlds as he expected, seeing a small man like Ray with two such long objects would not seem very much, but a threat.

Alternatively, I might have felt the strength of Ray if I had had the chance to see how he moved his body... but since Lizardman originally approached where Ray and the guards were, there was no room for that Lizardman to see how Ray's body moved.

That's why, for that Lizardman, Ray seemed to be the kind of opponent with a weapon he couldn't or wouldn't use and would stand in his way on it.

Lizardman waves down the long sword in his hand towards Ray with a mixed look of ridicule and exasperation...

● ●

Driven away by a long sword blow with a dusk spear, Lizardman, beaten with a death-sized patterned part, blows straight across for several meters, hitting his body hard against the trunk of the tree he was growing, unconscious with that blow and collapsing to the ground.

"Hey, hey, Ray! You, what are you thinking all of a sudden!

A guard screams at Ray.

But if Ray is yelled at, he tells the guards back in disgruntlement.

"What is it? So you're saying you should have been slaughtered by adults?

"I wouldn't say so, but wouldn't you have managed just to avoid it without having to fight back?

What would have been surprising to Ray was that the Lizardman soldiers wouldn't have attacked him either while he was exchanging words that way.

Of course, it's hard to tell what you're thinking and what look you're getting at just a Lizardman with a very different face shape than a human being.

I just think for a moment, even though it's easier to deal with them coming at me with a scream, like a monster Lizardman like when Ray encountered them before.

Nevertheless, it is harder to treat Lizardman as a friendly opponent than this has happened.

(No, is that from the beginning)

Originally, the Green Subman was able to treat the Rays amicably because they did not have the appearance of being aggressive either.

But even when Lizardman moved here, there were many people attacking the green subhumans he had transferred with.

More than that, as Ray, who had a friendly relationship with the Green Submen, it would be natural to make the choice of sheltering the Green Submen from the Lizardmans.

"So, what are we going to do with this situation?

As slightly frightened, the guard asks towards Ray.

As a guard, I came here when they told me to go to the Trent Forest and protect the unspoken suburbs, but as soon as I did, this commotion.

What the hell am I supposed to do? Ooh! And it was natural to want to scream like that.

"I don't care what they say. In the meantime, the Green Subman is friendly with us, and if we're going to make some kind of negotiation, why don't we just negotiate with you?... because I don't get the word, I think we're going to negotiate by gesturing."

"You, think it's other HR... no, well, that's me too"

What the guards are ordered from above is only the protection of the Green Subman.

Discussions and negotiations with the subordinates naturally take place at the upper levels of the guild, such as Dusker and his men.

In that sense, the guards never thought that hard either.

"Well, then... the Green Subman is friendly over here, so what are we going to do with the Lizard Man over there,"

Whimpering, as Ray turns his gaze toward the Lizardmans, the Lizardmans who received that gaze retreat half-reflexively.

They just saw that the strongest Lizardman of us was literally kicked in the ass, and they understood that we couldn't beat Ray no matter how we did it ourselves.

Can a guard who was looking at a Lizardman like that disarm this? think and propose to Ray.

"Hey, can't we disarm those Lizardmans?

"Uh... disarming. I know you should, but you don't get it."

Ray also wants to talk to them if he can and ask them what's going on.

I'm thinking, under the circumstances, that whatever you say doesn't make sense over there.

More than that, I don't care what I say here now...... and that's what I thought Ray, but maybe the Lizardmans can disarm themselves if they feel fear mixed up in their eyes looking at them? I think.

(Though...)

Even though the prospect of disarming has stood, it is the green sub-people who are worried in the present situation.

The green sub-people who are friendly with Ray, but given the way they were when they moved here, they are obviously hostile to Lizardman... no, there was no doubt that it had something to do with being unilaterally abused.

Beyond that, if we disarmed the Lizardmans in this situation now, there was some anxiety as to whether the Green Submen would decide this was a good opportunity not to attack the Lizardmans.

"I don't know if I can, but I'll give it a try. Just look at the green sub-people. In some cases, it could attack Lizardman."

"Okay."

When the guards find out what Ray is worried about, they nod quickly.

I also wonder if I should give instructions for capturing Lizardman's commander and Thought Being defeated by Ray.

A glance at such a guard brings Ray closer to the Lizardman who is in a group.

A group of Lizardmans retreat a few steps later when they see Ray approaching with a death-size and dusk spear.

The strongest of us, Lizardman, was defeated by a single blow.

I guess it's because we now know we can't beat Ray no matter how.

(At this rate, can disarming be easy?

With that in mind, Ray puts the Death Size... pointing the viciously armed blade part at the Lizardmans to see.

Only then did the Lizardmans retreat even more frightened.

Ray sees such a Lizardman's weapon and shows it in a simple way to throw it to the ground.

But Lizardman doesn't know what he's directing him to do, even if he sees how Ray works like that.

He looks confused, and Lizardman turns his fearful and fearful gaze towards Ray while he is at it.

And, inadvertently, my voice sounds in such tension.

●●●●●●●●

A green sub-man who was talking to Ray screamed.

I guess I knew what Ray was demanding because I had so little time with him.

In those words, the Lizardmans dropped their weapons on the ground.
