Chapter 161: Doctor Ella’s Reminders
Guide had bold the texts from the changes of Ashen on the effects alone.
It saved the time and effort to recall Ashen’s previous effects.
He was delighted to read the last part of the effects, providing him a better chance to accurately strike the enemies.
He rejoiced. He summoned Rain, Ember, and Moon to congratulate Ashen with them.
Ashen exhilarated by their greetings, but not as intense as earlier when she wanted to devour the materials for her evolution.
Felix was satisfied now. Ember and Moon were at the Rare rank and Ashen and Rain were at the Unique Rank.
He was also at Rank 6 Commander Beast Tamer. He grasped how stronger and solid his foundation was.
However, recalling the demon race spoiled his delight.
His expression turned serious and thought. It’s still not enough. I have to grow stronger.
Sensing the sudden shift of emotion of their master, his beast pet and weapons grew worried.
Ember encircled him, cawing incessantly in assurance. Moon silently jumped on his shoulder and caressed his head without saying a word.
Rain and Ashen called out to him through their mental connection.
Felix smiled bitterly.
He told them. Even when it appears we are stronger, it’s still not enough. We can’t be complacent. Our goal is to be stronger, alright?
His beast pets and weapons agreed simultaneously.
Without hesitation, without skepticism.
Felix was deeply assured.
...
For the remaining days, aside from cultivating, Felix enjoyed his time with his family and others by visiting the tourists spot in Clark City.
There were so many tourist spot that they failed to visit some that were included in the list.
Sky Marshal Kaelor had already delayed the departure time to grant sufficient time for a vacation after the National Annual Medical Assembly.
He had also extended his congratulations to Doctor Eleanor, who already became the most popular figure not only in the medical field but outside as well.
Doctor Eleanor, even when wearing a jacket, a cap, sun glasses, and facemask to conceal herself, was still disturbed by her fans as soon as they saw Felix and Krisha.
Felix and Krisha had their own fans, as well.
Doctor Ella’s guests were so popular that the Clark City Public Safe personnel had to provide security for them to avoid being disturbed and possibly be harmed by those who wanted to take advantage of the situation.
Hence, their vacation were not entirely spoiled.
Today was the day of their departure. It was currently the fourth day of August.
Doctor Ella was personally driving them to the airport, while chatting a lot with Doctor Eleanor beside her.
She asked, "When will you visit me again? I’m going to miss you a lot."
Doctor Eleanor chuckled. "I haven’t left yet."
Doctor Ella glanced at the back mirror and saw Master Shen meditating quietly. Felix and Krisha were the same, while Mia were playing with Ember and Ashen.
Sarah was sleeping on her husband’s shoulder, worn-out from the days of vacation.
Noah was the same, leaning his cheeks to her head.
The van was quiet. They had definitely exhausted themselves from the past few days.
Doctor Ella kept her gaze at Master Shen and whispered to Doctor Eleanor in a teasing manner.
"Say, if you don’t make a move first, you’ll definitely regret it."
Doctor Eleanor was befuddled. She turned towards her and asked, "What are you saying again? Also, focus on the road."
Doctor Ella rolled her eyes and focused on the road. The road was actually quite busy since there were many people driving the same direction as them.
Doctor Ella replied, "That guy is single, right? He also showed a clear sign of interest on you. So, what are you waiting for?"
"WHAT?" Doctor Eleanor was so taken aback she almost shouted.
She immediately covered her mouth and turned her head around.
Thankfully, they weren’t disturbed, causing her to heave a sigh of relief.
Unknown to hear, Felix, Krisha, and Master Shen had clearly heard what Doctor Ella whispered.
Felix simply smiled and Krisha quivered in excitements. Just the thought of Doctor Eleanor being with Master Shen actually thrilled her.
They are both suited for each other. Not only she thought, Felix thought, as well.
Master Shen, on the other hand, simply furrowed his eyebrows.
As for his reactions, he didn’t know. He didn’t dislike Doctor Eleanor, but the idea of being in a romantic relationship with someone was something he didn’t like.
But if it was Doctor Eleanor...
He couldn’t be sure now.
The conflicting emotions spoiled the mood of his meditation, but he didn’t stop. He tried his best to concentrate, but Doctor Ella and Doctor Eleanor’s conversation had his ears perked up.
"I’m telling you, you both are suited for each other. You two also live in the same city. Humanity also needs more talented individuals like Felix and Krisha in the future generation. You two will definitely give birth to a prodigy—"
Doctor Eleanor covered Doctor Ella’s mouth to shut her up. She turned her head and glanced at Master Shen and felt embarrassed.
Master Shen definitely heard it. Doctor Ella didn’t even try to restrain her voice.
Doctor Eleanor glared at Doctor Ella and stammered. "W-What are you talking about? It’s pure nonsense."
Doctor Ella rolled her eyes and focused on the road.
Doctor Eleanor slowly pulled her hands, but the moment she did so, Doctor Ella said, "That’s why you’re still single, Eleanor. Romance is already knocking at your—"
Doctor Eleanor covered her mouth again, albeit a bit slowed, curious of what she really wanted to say.
For her entire life, Doctor Eleanor had never developed a romantic relationship with others. Master Shen was probably... definitely the same, as well.
Doctor Eleanor didn’t pull her hands for the next ten minutes. When Doctor Ella seemed focused on driving now and believed she was not interested in pursuing the same conversation, Doctor Eleanor slowly pulled her hand.
She stopped mid-way, waiting for Doctor Ella to open her mouth. To her relief, she didn’t.
She turned towards Master Shen first, observing his reaction.
She was flustered. Her cheeks were reddened.
Because of how dark the back seat was, so Noah and Sarah could sleep peacefully, Doctor Eleanor didn’t notice Master Shen’s rosy cheeks.
Doctor Eleanor leaned her back in the seat and turned towards the window, distracting herself.
Yet, not a single breath had passed after she relaxed herself, Doctor Ella said, "If you don’t want him, I’ll pursue him."
Doctor Eleanor was taken aback.
She felt her heart ache at the thought of Master Shen being with others. It felt suffocating and confusing.
She didn’t know why she felt heartache by just the thought of Master Shen being with other women.
She was displeased and frustrated. She crossed her arms and said in a distraught tone, "Suit yourself."
Doctor Ella glanced at her and laughed without holding back.
However, it wasn’t louder enough for Noah and Sarah to be startled awake.
Doctor Eleanor glared at her before pouting in vexation, turning to the window to distract herself.
But she was already exasperated.
Doctor Ella glanced at her best friend and sighed.
She said, "He’s an ideal man, Eleanor. But I know the girl’s code. Also, do you really think I can still get him when he’s already interested at you?"
Doctor Ella paused for a while, glanced at the back mirror, and said, "Isn’t that right?"
Master Shen trembled. But she kept his eyelids shut. He tried his best to appear not hearing their conversation.
Doctor Eleanor said, "Stop. Don’t disturb him."
Doctor Ella raised her eyebrows and glanced at Doctor Eleanor. "Who?"
Doctor Eleanor wanted to open her mouth but shut it just in time.
Doctor Ella chuckled. "I didn’t mention his name, but you immediately know who I was talking about. It could have been Felix, but clearly... You know, it’s Master Shen, right?"
Doctor Eleanor rolled her eyes. "Why would it be Felix? It’s so obvious who you are referring."
Doctor Ella shook her head. "Both you and I know what we’re talking about."
Their conversation was cut off as Doctor Ella finally drove through the gate, where she had to talk with the security personnel.
After a while, they finally drove through inside the airport.
She continued, "As your best friend, I only wish for the best of you... two."
She chuckled, while Doctor Eleanor barely responded.
"Anyway, the next time you visit, I hope I can see my nephew. Or I can visit there if you give me a marriage invitation—"
"Shut up!" Doctor Eleanor exclaimed.
She crossed her arms and said, "I won’t give you one."
Doctor Ella giggled. "Got ya. So you already plan on marrying him."
Doctor Eleanor was taken aback. She then became exasperated and admitted defeat in arguing with her.
She could only hope that Master Shen wasn’t listening... though, it was definitely a false hope.
Eventually, they arrived at the Obsidian Wing.
Sky Marshal Kaelor was waiting below at them. He waved as soon as he was familiar with Felix’s image from afar.
Felix waved as well. However, before they proceeded towards him, they individually extended their thanks.
Doctor Eleanor was the last one, but the second to the last was Master Shen. Hence, Doctor Ella didn’t forget to "remind" her in a rather very serious manner.
Doctor Eleanor didn’t know whether to be angry at her or appreciate how concerned Doctor Ella on her life was.
Nevertheless, she couldn’t hate her best friend from how accommodating she was...
