Chapter 106: Good Boy
She turns slowly. woman shivers, then pays with what looks like an actual uncut gemstone the size of my eyeball.
[System: I reckon that is an eyeball.]
Cherry takes it, bites it playfully to "test its quality," then blows her a little pink heart bubble that pops against her cheek. The bird woman practically melts on the spot, fanning herself and stumbling away with a dazed smile as two of her servants rush to catch her.
I flip another skewer so fast my tail slaps against the grill edge, sizzling. The smell of charred snake-scale mixes with the scent of greed and grilled meat. This isn’t business anymore; it’s a fucking circus, and Cherry’s the ringmaster.
[System: mate you’re staring.]
I am not staring.
I am one hundred per cent staring, because that maid outfit is doing something illegal to my brain chemistry, and every time she bends over to grab a fresh skewer, I lose about four seconds of higher brain function.
The problem is I can’t do a single thing about it. No time, no anything that would let me act on the increasingly loud, increasingly stupid part of my brain screaming at me to drag her behind the shack and figure out logistics later.
We haven’t even bonded properly, but at least I can stare at her ass while flipping meat for strangers.
[System: haha get fucked. This is peak suffering, and I love it.]
Thanks, love that input, very supportive, truly appreciate the constant reminder that I am a red tactical earthworm with zero ability to act on my own horniness, because I’m running this fucking kebab stand.
Cherry glances over her shoulder at me, catches me mid-stare, and gives me this slow, knowing grin that absolutely does not help.
"You good, boss?" she asks, all innocent, tail flicking behind her like she didn’t just notice exactly what I was looking at.
"Fantastic," I say, voice dropping, slow and deliberate. "Just making sure everything out here looks as good as it tastes."
"Mm-hm." She turns back to the next customer, hips doing something that should be illegal in at least four districts, and I nearly drop an entire skewer into the fryer.
Somewhere behind me, I hear one of Dad’s mafia guys mutter something like "cute" under his breath while looking directly at Cherry’s legs.
Cool, cool, cool cool. Normal amount of murder-rage happening in my chest right now.
[System: you going to let that one slide? Give ya 1,000 exp if you do something about it.]
Cherry snags another wallet with her tail, drops a rare gem into her apron like it’s nothing, and blows another heart bubble at some poor bastard who looks like he’d hand over his firstborn if she asked nice enough.
The line just keeps growing.
So I stay put, flipping skewers, being a perfectly reasonable and totally stable individual, right until my tail slides under Cherry’s skirt like it’s got somewhere to be.
The sound she makes is sharp and high and absolutely not quiet.
She spins around and a skewer hits the ground.
[System: ten out of ten no notes.]
Her whole body goes rigid for a second, and I feel her breath catch through the tail still tucked under the fabric.
Then she turns.
Slow.
Her eyes have gone from that soft candy pink to something darker, something that looks like it wants to eat me whole and enjoy every second of it. The horn stumps on her head twitch, just slightly, like they’re trying to remember what it feels like to be actual horns.
The maid outfit doesn’t look cute anymore. It looks like a countdown timer.
"I manage a single word, "Cherry," because some dumb part of my brain still thinks words are going to help me here.
"Boss." Her voice drops two full octaves, slow and even, like she’s got all the time in the world and I don’t. "Close the stand."
"We’ve got a line of like fifteen."
"Close it." She says it again, quieter this time, which is somehow worse. She steps toward me, hips swaying with zero shame, and the customers behind her part like she’s Moses and they’re a very horny, very overpriced sea. "No more skewers."
My tail is still frozen under her skirt like an idiot, and she reaches back without even looking, grabs it, and pins the tip flat against her thigh with both hands.
Okay, that’s new. I’m usually the one making the move. Is this what Cherry is usually like?
"No more work." Each word lands like a hammer, calm, unhurried, absolutely certain. "You need to fuck me right now."
Somewhere behind me, a mafia guy chokes on his own spit.
[System: mate, she wants to climb you like a fucking tree in the middle of Twawi market.]
Shut up.
"There’s customers," I manage, voice coming out about four pitches higher than I’d like. "There’s, uh, a whole line, Cherry; we’ve got a business to run."
"Don’t care." She tugs my tail, slow, deliberate, and the pressure travels straight up my spine and short-circuits whatever sentence I was building. "Say it back."
"Say what."
"Say you’ll fuck me." Her grip tightens. The tail-pin turns into something closer to a leash. "Say it like you mean it."
The horn stumps twitch again, and for a second the shy, apologetic, tail-flicking Cherry from thirty seconds ago is nowhere in the building. This is a different animal wearing her skin, patient and hungry and completely unbothered by the fifteen strangers currently watching her manhandle a snake.
"Fine," I mumble, because apparently that’s the only setting my mouth has left. "Fine, yeah, I’ll fuck you, just, can we not do this in front of the entire market?"
"Good boy."
The words hit somewhere low and stupid in my brain, and my whole body forgets it’s supposed to have dignity.
[System: Mate, she just leashed you.]
Cherry doesn’t wait for me to argue further. She just gives me a slow smile, winks, and turns away. Her hips sway as she walks past me, not even breaking stride as she heads for the back curtain of the stand. She pauses at the edge, one hand holding the fabric aside, and glances back over her shoulder, just waiting. The line of customers with their gemstones and confused expressions is completely ignored.
