Chapter 1339: Helping My Son Win His Wife, Using His Wife to Bind My Son
"Didn’t you say Nicole’s health is much better now? Olivia did this to Nicole, causing her to miscarry Jose’s own child. How much pain must Jose be feeling? If the child had survived, Nicole wouldn’t have married someone else, right?"
"Are you suggesting—we should create an opportunity for Jose, help him win Nicole back?" Celine Sutton exclaimed.
Stuart Floyd nodded, "Actually, I believe Nicole loves Jose too. She lost two children because of him, and we, as a family, feel guilty towards Nicole. If Jose marries Nicole, everything would turn out perfectly and joyfully."
Celine nodded with an affirmative hum, "My heart aches for Nicole, and it aches for Jose too. After enduring so much, there’s still no real honesty between them. Nicole almost couldn’t have children because of Jose. Speaking of owing, we truly owe Nicole a lot. Thankfully, heaven opened its eyes this time, allowing us to accept Nicole as our goddaughter. Who would’ve thought she’s the one Jose has always liked."
Stuart chuckled softly, "Actually, I already knew Nicole was the one Jose loved. When I was investigating Jose, I heard about him, covered in blood, rushing to stop Nicole’s engagement. That’s when I knew Nicole was the one he loved, so I checked up on the Seys Family’s precious jewel. The moment Nicole said her surname was Seys, I knew she was the one Jose loved, so I suggested you accept Nicole as our goddaughter."
Celine paused, looking at Stuart with a smile, "This was all your strategy."
"Helping our son catch his bride and using his bride to catch him back—isn’t such an idea not considered underhanded?"
Stuart embraced Celine as they went inside.

During dinner, Celine eagerly urged Jose Floyd to eat more. Not knowing what he preferred, she kept picking up various dishes and placing them into Jose’s bowl.
Jose, with an indifferent expression, moved his bowl aside, avoiding the food that Celine had picked up for him.
Celine’s hand awkwardly paused in mid-air, her lips pressed tightly, her face a bit unnatural.
Sitting next to Jose, Nicole witnessed Celine’s predicament, elbowed Jose’s wrist, and leaned close to him, whispering, "Your godmother is serving you food, extend your bowl and accept it!"
A refreshing scent approached, lingering at the tip of his nose. Jose’s brows furrowed slightly as he glanced at the person next to him and responded indifferently, "I don’t eat food served by others."
"...."
Nicole held back her urge to retort. Seeing Celine’s unnatural expression, she immediately brought her bowl over to catch the food Celine was offering, smiling warmly at her, "He doesn’t quite like this dish, but I do. Thank you, godmother."
Celine’s face returned to normal, beaming at Nicole’s warm smile, and she continued to place a bit of each dish into Nicole’s bowl, "If you like it, eat more. Look, you’re so thin, and Jose never minds if you’re chubby. You should nourish yourself a bit. Your body is still recuperating, so you need balanced nutrition."
Nicole: "...."
She was just trying to ease Celine’s awkwardness, but how did the conversation turn back to Jose and her!
Nicole dared not look back at Jose’s predictable expression of refusal to Celine’s comments. Before she could feel awkward, Celine’s voice echoed again, "Nicole, you’re the only one who knows Jose’s taste. See what he likes and give him more of it. Tomorrow, tell me what dishes he likes, and I’ll go buy them and prepare them."
Just as Nicole was about to decline by saying, ’There’s no need to be so courteous; he’ll be leaving in two days,’ Jose casually pushed his bowl toward her, his voice light and steady; "Get the dishes."
"..."
Who was it just now who said they wouldn’t eat food picked up by others? That change of attitude didn’t happen so fast, did it!
