Magus: Rise of the Darkness Empress

After leaving the city, the journey was very smooth for Weiss and her party. This part of the empire was extremely well defended because most of the people who travelled through this area were nobles or rich merchants.

So because of this reason, no bandits ever dared to start their buisness here and beasts were not able to live long here because of the strict security. That was why this place was one of the safest region.

So, very soon, all the ladies and the men reached a Village that was located just a little bit away of the Forest of Nightmare, Kannilas.

This place was called a Village but actually, it was nothing like one. It was an extremely beautiful place with all the high quality luxuries which was more than enough to satisfy even the royals.

This village was run by former workers of the royal castle. This place was something like a retirement home for them.

The forest of nightmare was extremely dangerous but it also had a mind soothing effect as long as someone was not too close to the main forest. So for many nobles, this village was a great vacation spot.

But obviously Weiss and her group were not here for the vacation. Instead they were here to enter the forest and use it as a short cut.

As for how that was possible, the reason was unknown to most people. But for some reason, after entering the forest from this side, on the other side of the forest, there was a completely different Nation that actually was thousands of miles away from here.

And the forest definitely was not large enough to reach that faraway nation. But still, somehow, it was connecting to that place.

Even though the intelligent scholars of this nation were not sure about the reason for this, Weiss was actually able to make some guesses with the knowledge that she already had.

A very likely reason for this phenomenon in Weiss’s eyes was Spatial Distortions. They were somewhat random according to Jonus Souran so it was not impossible for something like that to happen in this mysterious forest.

As for why this place was called the Forest of Nightmare, the reason was very obvious. The trees of this place were bizzare and were capable of creating illusions of various kinds.

A regular human would immediately fall under the control of the illusion and would start wondering the forest until their death. The only way to resist it was by having the life force of a knight or by having the protection of someone with a lot of life force.

And the deeper one went inside the forest, the greater the requirement for the life force would be. Because of this reason, only the high or peak ranking knights were able to go deeper and into the other nation.

There were also verious monsters present in this forest who were capable of defeating the official knights. That was also one of the reason why almost no one ever came here.

But still, the nation’s Royal Family had kept this place under their control. And the reason for that was a special herb that grew only in this forest.

This herb was the key ingredient for a potion that assured super high success rate for the breakthrough to the realm of an official knight.

This herb was one of the reason why this nation had so many knights even though high rankings knights were not that common. With there being enough of this herb, mass producing low level knights was not an impossibility.

But Weiss did not really care too much about it. Her own special potions were capable of doing something similar.

But the effectiveness of her spell was a little lower compared to this one but at the same time, it did not destroy anyone’s potential, so could be considered to be something even more amazing.

So, as her group was strong enough already, Weiss decided to enter the forest of nightmare as soon as possible. Normally resting in the luxurious village for a day or two was fine but with Alexis and Frank with them, it was a little risky.

Both of them were not knights. So they did not have pure life force of their own to protect themselves. So either Weiss or Elise needed to use their own ancient force for the job.

Still, as that was an external energy at the end of the day, it was not perfect in protecting the anyone. So the longer they stayed near the forest, the higher the chance of Alexis and Frank getting corrupted was.

Weiss did have some confidence in taking care of the corruption in the worse case scenario but there was a possibility that this energy was related to magic. In that case, even Weiss might have trouble talking care of it.

That was the reason why Weiss wanted to cross this area as soon as possible. And everyone else in the team also agreed with her decision.

So, everyone stayed in the village for just a few hours. There cleaned themselves a little, had some delicious food and had just a little bit of naughty fun.

It was actually Weiss’s idea for them to have a little sexual relief. Lust was a strong emotion and having too much lust in the forest of nightmare was not a good thing. So this step was actually something important.

After all this, everyone was ready. Weiss took the rear while Evan and Elise were at the front. Alexis and Frank were in the middle and were being protected by everyone.

All the people of this team were also being extremely cautious. Even though the monsters here should not be strong enough to kill a peak level knight, but they could still put the two weaker men in great danger. So being cautious was definitely a necessity here.

So, this was how the journey of Weiss and her team started in the Forest of Nightmare.
