Magus: Rise of the Darkness Empress

Forest of nightmare was definitely a very dangerous place but the outer region was nothing too serious. This was the area where the ingredients collecting happened, so knights of this nation had already cleared this place out more or less.

As for why this region currently had little to no ingredients, it was simple. This place did not have an infinite amount of resources.

Normally the royal family made sure to only collect only a limited amount of ingredients to make sure more could grow in a short period of time.

But few years ago, a foolish prince had used his authority to collect a huge amount of ingredient from this place in order to create an army of his own that was filled with only official knight rank powerhouses.

The people he had sent for the collecting mission were also stupid and they did not care about the future and looted everything that this place had to offer.

When this news reached the other members of the royal family, this stupidity was quickly stopped. But it was already too late. The damage had already been done to the forest.

And the result of that was the current situation. Even with her extremely powerful senses, Weiss was unable to find too many rare ingredients here.

Still, what little she did managed to discover, they were of extremely high quality. And the reason for that was simple.

Everything that she was currently finding, they were something that the knight of this nation had missed. So they were hidden in hard to find places. Because of this reason, all of those ingredients had managed to grow for a long amount of time and that was also the reason why their quality was so good.

So overall, Weiss was happy with this. And so far, only a few not too strong monsters had attacker and Evan had taken all of them out in no time.

So this part of the journey was quite pleasant. Even Alexis and Frank were able to relax even though they were completely powerless here.

But this relaxed atmosphere did not last for long. In no time, Weiss’s group was able to cross and the outer region of the forest and reach the deeper parts.

And here, stronger monsters started to appear. And at the same time, Weiss also sensed more and more ingredients which made her happy.

With how strong the monsters here were, in order of keep Alexis and Frank perfectly safe, Elise also joined the battle. With her realm of a grand knight and her insane speed, she was able to take care of the attacking monsters extremely quickly.

With this kind of performance from Elise, Weiss was able to relax and continue searching for the valuable ingredients. So even though the deeper parts of the Forest of Nightmare had became more dangerous, the group of Weiss continued their journey smoothly.

This way, very soon, everyone reached the deepest and maybe the central area of the forest of Nightmare. Here, the special energy of this forest was so thick that it was visible to regular eyes.

Weiss had tried to manipulate this energy since when she had entered the forest and had came in contact with it. But she had failed to do so.

But now, finally she was able to use her ancient force to somewhat manipulate it but doing so was still extremely difficult.

Even then, this way finally Weiss was able to analyze this energy in details. As this world did not have magical energy, Weiss was sure that this energy was not magical in nature. But at the same time, it was completely different from the life force or ancient force of a knight.

So this was something very fascinating. Weiss wanted to research this energy more. But unfortunately, with Alexis and Frank in the team, she had no time to do so.

As this actually was different from a knight’s energy, if Alexis and Frank were affected by them, then that would be terrible. So they really needed to leave this core area as soon as possible.

Weiss definitely was planning to come back here alone if she got the opportunity. But for the time being, she needed to think of a way to get out of here as soon as possible.

But obviously doing so was not going to be easy as the core area had the most dangerous monsters of this Forest of Nightmare and one such monster was currently before Weiss and her group, blocking their way.

It was a large serpent with pitch black skin and mysterious violet eyes. As for how large this serpent was, it was hard to guess. But this serpent was at least 40 meters long.

But before Evan or Elise could fight it, Apep suddenly came out and returned to her actually size, which was also massive even though slightly smaller than the black serpent before her.

From what Weiss was able to sense from Apep, she was feeling some kind of greedy instincts that told her that if she could defeat and devour this snake, something good would happen to her. As for what exactly was going to happen, Apep was not sure.

Still, the insticts was so strong that Apep actually felt that listening to it was the correct thing to do. Elena also agreed to the decision but also told Apep to be careful.

After nodding her head to encouraging words from her mistress, Apep started to fight this snake. And as she was doing that, Weiss started to analyse the big, black snake.

Weiss was definitely planning of intervene with this fight in secret and allow Apep to get an easy and secure victory. But she was going to do so without letting Apep know about this help.

So while a big black snake and a big white snake were entangling with one another, Weiss was plotting in the dark to finish this battle as soon as possible.

So just like that, the battle between two large monster snakes continued.
