Lesson 10: Let's Challenge the Sand King -3

Eunice was alone, waving her sword in a training ground built in the corner of the dungeon.

"Phew."

Along with a sharp breathing sound, a bead-like sweat spreads.

While it was in the air, it was torn vertically with a sword and divided into two pieces; it was further cut horizontally into four pieces, cut diagonally into eight pieces.

"... it's still a great move."

The sound of patties and applause rang in the space where Eunice only waved the sword.

It was Marie who showed up looking impressed.

"What's going on?

Without stopping the training, Eunice asked Marie as she kept moving.

"Did you see Logan? I just wanted to ask you to take care of Sophia."

"I don't know if you've seen it. There was a spinner over there, so why don't you ask that way?

"Hmmm. I don't know if I will...... Logan, I haven't been around lately"

"By the way, Marie, do you continue your sword training properly?

To Eunice's inquiry, Marie shivered her body.

"Fair enough, I guess... thanks, unis"

With that said, Marie flips herself gently and runs to the back of the labyrinth.

"I have no body. You're so talented."

Whether it's sword or sorcery, or anything else, Marie swallows very well. But because of that, I was so tired of not being able to concentrate on one thing.

"Don't you think? Logan."

"... I don't care what a hero tells you."

If he called toward the void, the shadow took its shape and turned it into a red devil.

What I said to Marie is not a lie. Eunice hasn't seen Logan.

But in its very existence, which entered the shadow of the pillar, I had noticed it since I stepped into the training ground.

"I wonder about that, too. Are you talented because you're a hero, or are you a hero because you're talented?"

Eunice had never done anything like train an authentic sword.

If you swing as you wish, you have no enemies, and the battle is almost something you've polished in action.

Let my father Wolfe, who is a hero himself, say that, for the most part, heroes are all such things.

Eunice can jump back and back and focus on her legs as she says.

While running through at a distance, he chops off his opponent by shifting the slash that drives that momentum.

The countless invisible slaughters that strike from all directions are impossible to evade or defend.

No name, but it's a good move for Eunice to call it a special.

And before he finished waving his sword, Eunice took a breath.

"You lost again."

"Yeah."

Answering Logan, Eunice went into the spot when she put her sword in her sheath.

I poked a flash of gap and got my heart pierced.

Normally, he would only be a bad hand if he aimed a sword at a heart protected by armor, muscles and ribs, but he would easily do it as if he were breathing.

What Eunice was dealing with was a fantasy hodeli.

That said, the movement is not dimensionally different from the real one.

The first to win was because of the singularity of Eunice's abilities, and because Hodeli didn't mean it either.

We've paired up a few times since then, but in the second and subsequent battles, it's been handled easily.

Eunice's sword is light. The sword, which compensates for it by the distance and speed of the escape, is sealed only by being packed with steps at the moment of lowering and the sword placed. Hodeli lost Eunice's life with minimal movement, no matter how quickly she moved.

Since then, Eunice hadn't been able to beat Hodeli once, in fact or in fantasy.

Even though Eunice wins better at all her strength and speed, she is overshadowed by one sword swing.

"So, why is Logan avoiding Marie?

"I won't tell you. You, you laugh."

"Yeah, maybe"

"I'm honest about that. You know what? Don't laugh if you're lying!

With a deep sigh, Logan puts his hands on his hips and covers his eyes with his upper arm.

"Marie was killed... and I got really mad at her. I gave priority to Baba by comparing Baba, who was already over thirteen years old, to a freshly born super beauty toddler. My identity is Crisis..."

"hahahahaha"

"Ah you son of a bitch, you really laughed!?

To Eunice laughing at her fingers, Logan stripped her fangs.

"Because it's not. You like it, but you don't need a reason."

"You... are a great demon who's been alive for 6,000 years. It's nice to get into a human thing. That's a lot of stuff. You'll see."

"It doesn't matter."

Eunice just cuts off Logan's words.

"Even demons don't know if humans are human or ghosts. Because I feel the same way about liking them. They'll be different from each other until they like it."

"But hey..."

"Well, if Logan likes Marie as a girl and wants to have kids. Uh, it's a lot harder, but it's not like that, is it?

"Well, yes..."

Logan's thoughts on Marie are close to those on her sister or daughter if you say so in humans.

"Some kids chose the hard one."

It was obvious who Eunice was talking about, even if he didn't give it a name.

Logan remembered that she had even advised her that it would be hard to get too much in.

"... Damn it, Master Logan's gone around too."

As a pioneer, Logan looks up to heaven.

But the tone was backwards, and the expression was sunny like a blowout somewhere.

"Thank you for the sermon. I'll teach you something good."

"What?"

"That's the training you've been doing. It's all for nothing."

"Waste!?

Shocked by the boulder, Eunice opened her eyes and opened her mouth gently.

"I guess you're learning how to swing a sword by imitating that hodeli or whatever. That's not what you wear all morning and all night, and what do you do after decades of catching up with that kind of people?"

"So, but Hodeli's so strong, huh?

To Eunice's words, Logan nods.

It may be said that Hodeli's movements are extreme to the extent that they can probably be done in the form of a person.

If there was a being in this world that could be described as omnipotent, if it created a sword-wielding human being, it would make the same move as him. I'm a human being in that area.

But everywhere he is, he is only human.

"What do dragons do when they imitate people? If we fight on the same mound, we'll have the same technology, but you'll lose."

"What, why?

Eunice seemed to be listening for real.

"Keep your back down. My body is light. My arms are thin. If technology and abilities were the same, there would be no winning element."

Says Logan, holding the little Eunice's head down with his hands.

Smaller bodies mean shorter reach for that matter, and thinner and lighter means lighter blows for that matter. If you are an assassin with an unintentional strike, it is still only a disadvantageous element as a swordsman who fights head-on.

"Uh, is that right?

To wonder about it also meant that Eunice had never suffered from it before.

"So you learn how to use your powers more than just wield a stick. The power of the Spirit is, in short, the very way a hero lives. It's like a symbol. If you can use it without swinging, it will help."

"... yeah. Thank you, Logan!

Honestly, I didn't know as well as half of what Logan was saying, but I still feel like I've got some way to go and Eunice nods.

"... oops"

It's not a demonic behavior at all, even though it's not in the contract, such as protecting humans, teaching them how to fight, or even being thankful.

But not surprisingly, not so bad. Logan thought so.
