Marvel: Odin Imprisoned Me with Hela

Chapter 5: Star-Piercing, as in Binary Carol

The tremendous impact sent Carol plummeting downward at a forty-five-degree angle, spinning through the air like a yo-yo until she had practically turned into a ball.

As for the culprit that had struck her, it flew off in another direction and vanished almost instantly without a trace.

"The Kree didn’t leave?!"

Captain Marvel, Carol, who woke from her half-unconscious state in midair, immediately came to that suspicion.

She had just destroyed the Kree fleet and forced back the person behind it, only to be ambushed right afterward. Could that really be a simple coincidence?

But then Carol recalled that what struck her just now had not felt like an energy attack. It had been a purely physical blow.

It felt more like a meteor had smashed into her head.

"Could it really have been a meteor?"

Carol shook out her hair. "No, that thing seemed to have flown up from the ground. It couldn’t have been a meteor..."

"I should stop falling first."

Carol, who was still tumbling downward through the air, looked at the rapidly approaching ground below. Brilliant energy light burst from both her hands.

She would use energy recoil against the ground to stop this massive momentum.

Boom!

What Carol had not expected was that just as the blazing energy released from her hands was about to reach the ground, it suddenly vanished into thin air.

The bizarre phenomenon caught Carol completely off guard.

That was right. She was indeed capable of single-handedly tearing through an entire space fleet, but that was pure suppression through overwhelming power.

In terms of combat experience, Carol had been beaten plenty of times back on Hala.

"There’s no time!"

Watching the energy she released constantly vanish into thin air, Carol knew that relying on recoil to slow herself down was no longer possible. At the final moment, she could only raise both hands to protect her head.

Boom!

The originally clean and neat grassland was plowed into a long trench by the enormous impact.

Orion Cross, who had been eating the last piece of fried chicken, froze on the spot. The fried chicken fell to the ground. "Who stole my skill? Grand Starfall?"

"Wait. How did she get in here?!"

Orion Cross snapped back to his senses and immediately stood up, walking toward the end of the trench.

Although it had only been for an instant, he had still seen that what fell was a person, not a meteor or a satellite or something like that.

"Is she the woman you mentioned who could rival Odin?"

Hela stood beside Orion Cross and looked together with him at the figure slowly climbing up from the trench as she asked.

There was a terrifying energy within this woman.

"Uh, not this one. Another one."

Orion Cross glanced at the mission that had suddenly triggered and shook his head. "She can be considered a ’new-money powerhouse.’"

He remembered Marvel officials saying that in the cinematic universe, the strongest female hero at the moment was Captain Marvel in her Binary form, with no exceptions.

That meant that in terms of combat strength alone, even the Ancient One would have to rank second.

Unfortunately, just as Orion Cross said, Captain Marvel Carol was currently only a "new-money powerhouse."

If she really faced the Ancient One, whose knowledge was as vast as the sea and who possessed countless experiences and methods, then the outcome would still be hard to say.

As for the mission...

[Captain Marvel Series Mission: Defeat Carol Danvers in Binary form.]

Forget it.

"Are you Kree?"

Carol slowly stood up from the trench, shook out her flowing blond hair, and looked at Orion Cross warily. This person before her seemed to know her?

After being smashed from ten thousand meters in the air by something with force comparable to a comet and slammed into the ground, yet still remaining alive, active, and clear-headed, probably only this person on Earth could do that right now.

"What the hell?"

Orion Cross froze, failing to understand how she had reached the conclusion that he was Kree.

Carol, however, did not speak again. Without another word, she flung an energy wave with her right hand.

Boom!

"Isn’t firing one off the moment we meet a bit inappropriate? Or do all you women like doing things this way? Fight first, then ask all the questions during the fight?"

Orion Cross lowered the Aspect’s Sacred Shield in his right hand, glanced at Hela watching the show from the side, and said speechlessly.

"I just wanted to see the color of your blood."

Carol looked at the shield in Orion Cross’s hand in surprise. It had completely blocked one of her energy waves. Then she leaped up, jumped out of the trench, and landed in front of Orion Cross and Hela.

The color of blood was the simplest way to distinguish Kree.

Should she fight the man in front of her?

Carol swept her gaze over Hela and slowly clenched her fists.

"No need to check. I’m a native-born Earthling."

Orion Cross stabbed his spear into the ground, tossed his shield down, sat on it, and looked at Carol in front of him. "Why are you so vigilant? We didn’t actively attack you. On the contrary, you were the one who barged into our territory."

Orion Cross did not know that he was the one who had knocked Captain Marvel down, and Carol did not know that the unknown object that had attacked her had been thrown by the person in front of her.

"You’re right."

Carol nodded slightly, then sat down beside Orion Cross on her own initiative. She pointed at the shining Aspect power on his body. "But since when could Earthlings do this? How come I didn’t know?"

She had originally thought that she was the only person on Earth who had obtained superpowers through some coincidence, but now she had suddenly encountered another one. Perhaps two.

"I also don’t think Earthlings can casually throw energy waves at people."

Orion Cross rolled his eyes. Captain Marvel actually had the nerve to talk about him? Wasn’t she the biggest cheat-like existence herself?

"Fair enough."

Carol curled her lip and glanced at Hela, who had been standing silently to the side the entire time. "So, who exactly are you people? And what is this place?"
