Chapter 30: The Female Captain’s Favor

Among the vast stars, a stellar dragon wearing a golden crown upon his head opened his eyes.

Thousands of years ago, the Aspects had deceived mortals into placing this crown upon him, thereby banishing him from Runeterra, stealing his power, and calling themselves gods.

Now, that golden crown was constantly shedding flakes of gold amid the infighting among the Aspects.

"I have waited a thousand years only to witness Targon’s fall."

Just as Aurelion Sol, the Star Forger, thought that if he waited another thousand years, he would finally regain his freedom, a power he had never felt before entered the crown upon his head.

This power was not particularly strong, but it transcended time and space. Aurelion Sol had no way to stop it.

In the end, the Star Forger, the dimensional demon god of this world, could only be signed into a contract by Orion Cross without the slightest ability to resist.

And it was not an equal contract, nor was it a master-disciple contract like the one between the Vishanti and Earth’s sorcerers. It was even less likely to be a soul contract or master-servant contract between a hell lord and a believer.

Through that crown, Orion Cross successfully signed a domination contract. Even across countless dimensions, regardless of whether Aurelion Sol agreed or not, he could seize his power and convert it into his own mana.

Beyond that, once Orion Cross’s own strength reached a certain level, he could even control him.

...

With Orion Cross’s current fledgling mana, he naturally could not control Aurelion Sol. However, by borrowing that celestial crown, he had still forced Aurelion Sol to launch one attack.

That burst of pure starfire, crossing countless light-years, struck the sea beast beneath Bilgewater.

"You succeeded?"

The Ancient One dispersed the Rings of Raggadorr in her hand and looked sharply at Orion Cross. "That power just now was the dimensional demon god of this world?"

He had only just completed the contract, yet it had already taken the initiative to help. It seemed the dimensional demon god of this world truly was as Orion Cross said, very "gentle."

The Ancient One could never have guessed that Orion Cross had actually turned the tables and signed a domination contract with himself as the master over a dimensional demon god. This was something no sorcerer had ever accomplished before.

"That’s right. It’s finally done."

Orion Cross casually rescued Miss Fortune, Sarah, who had been swept into the sea by the huge waves caused by the Dragon King’s starfire, and returned to the shore.

As for the other two brothers, they could swim back to shore by themselves.

"Thanks. Interested in making a friend?"

Miss Fortune shook the water from her wine-red hair and smiled faintly at Orion Cross.

...

Inside a tavern in Bilgewater, Miss Fortune, Sarah, who had changed into a fresh set of clothes, sat down at the table where Orion Cross’s group was gathered.

"How is it? The food here isn’t bad, right? I promised earlier that all your expenses would be on me."

Sarah looked at Wanda and Pietro, who were drinking juice, especially Wanda. It made her feel as if she were seeing her past self, and a trace of warmth appeared in her smile.

"It has quite an exotic flavor. Can I take some with me?"

Coulson chewed a piece of bread and spoke.

"Of course. But..."

Sarah placed her hand on the table and supported her chin as she looked at Orion Cross. "If you have nowhere to go, why not join me? There are plenty of good things on my ship."

"Hahahaha, hic!"

Before Orion Cross could answer, a drunkard in the tavern burst into laughter after hearing that. He staggered over and swayed as he stood in front of Orion Cross. "Why aren’t you agreeing already? Miss Fortune invited you onto her ’ship.’ That’s something countless people dream of. If you can’t do it, then let me..."

The other cunning people in the tavern had indeed noticed that Bilgewater’s empress seemed somewhat interested in that man, but none of them would ever dare to laugh and tease her like this drunkard.

In fact, after the burly drunk finished speaking, the originally noisy tavern instantly fell silent.

"Hmph."

Sarah glanced at the drunkard, then returned her gaze to Orion Cross, waiting for his answer.

"No. We’ll be leaving soon."

Orion Cross speared a piece of steak, put it into his mouth, then picked up a napkin and wiped the corner of his mouth. "We’ll meet again in the future. We can talk about it then."

"What a pity."

Sarah withdrew her gaze, chuckled, and raised a mug of ale. She drained it in one breath, then smashed the mug against the drunkard’s head. "Drag him out."

Several men and women dressed like crew members walked over and dragged the drunkard, whose head was covered in blood, out of the tavern.

"Courtesy goes both ways. I’ll give you these two guns."

Orion Cross took out two guns from his system space, both previously brought back by Pietro, and used Gun Modification to turn them into one Holy Gun and one Demonic Gun before placing them on the table. "Each of these guns has six bullets. Once they’re used up, the guns will disappear."

"Good stuff. Thanks."

Miss Fortune stared at the two guns for a while, sighed faintly, and accepted the gift.

Whether it was sacred power or demonic power, both had excellent effects against the creatures of the Shadow Isles. This was a gift she could not refuse.

Only, why did you have to leave?
