Master of the brave.

Inside the elf ①

Deep forest so much that you can't even step in with a horse.

The surrounding trees had thick trunks enough for adults to finally circle by joining hands, and overhead the sunlight was blocked by the growing leaves.

This is a world outside the realm of people. An abysmal green world that nurtures many lives.

It is those who live there who are the rulers of the forest, the elves - those who have more powerful magic than men, who pride themselves on longevity and build a higher civilization.

Long ears and light watery eyes are the hallmarks of the species. And fair skin. Thin body, but with supple muscles, the experience accumulated by its centuries of longevity far outweighs that of a person.

Their capital rises in the middle of the Alfana continent, at the foot of a world tree that is said to root throughout the continent.

Its graceful and magnificent landscape, conveyed by a few human beings, who were allowed to step into the land, deserves their capital, which is celebrated alongside the Dragon tribe as one of the reigning races on earth.

It is even considered one of the reasons why the Demon Nation, led by the Demon King, who even feared God, and the demons under his command, could not completely dominate the continent.

Deep in the woods all over the continent, as the realm of their elves, each nation of man has been guided by the principle of non-interference - similarly, the elves should rarely interfere in the world outside the woods, except for the changers who show interest in the outside world.

"... so, Deputy Director. What are we gonna do now?

"That's right..."

Kelvin saw Chirali and the elves surrounding him. They don't seem to give it to me while I use magic. If you make any extra moves at all, you'll be shot through.

Winn had told Kelvin that during his second little pause in the woods, he somehow felt like he was being watched.

When Kelvin also heeded Winn's advice, he thought that some kind of demon might be asking about this one, and the three of us were on guard -.

"No way, I didn't think the identity of that gaze was an elf"

"Whatever you think, it's not a friendly atmosphere, is it?

Rock pulls a pulled grin.

"I heard the elves don't interfere much when it comes to the human world. Besides, wasn't Captain Lloyds supposed to be talking to you?

"Nor did I expect to be so welcomed by all the elves. I've never even heard of the Knights being besieged before."

Either way, it must depend on how they come out.

With that grumbling, Kelvin advanced to the front of the Winns. Both hands remain raised above to signify no hostility.

"Don't move! Stay put!

An elf man shooting an arrow at Winn's feet makes a sharp voice. It's elf.

The language of the Elves, a reigning race, is one of the compulsory subjects in the Knights School.

Following that voice, Kelvin stopped his leg.

Winn asks around for chills.

As far as I can see, I can confirm five elves. but there will probably be more.

"We are from the Knights of the Lemursil Empire. In the name of the Lloyds Ten Horsemen, or Count Lloyds Van Elstead, you must have been contacted that we would be visiting you?

"I haven't heard anything like that."

"That's strange... I was supposed to rendezvous there with the other side"

Kelvin tilted his neck and snapped in a whisper.

"Disarm. Let me restrain you for one second. Let me hear the story in our settlement!

He raised one hand and signaled whether the man he was talking to was the leader. Several of the elves who were aiming with bows and arrows from a distance advance and retrieve the two swords thrown to the ground, as well as Winn's sword, which remains pierced by a goblin.

And when I urged them to follow me to the three of them, I walked out.

"What are you going to do now, guys?"

"So far, it doesn't look like I can do any harm."

None of the three of them were tied up, but they're poking short spears out the back. Didn't you get tied up because it's hard to walk?

Winn gently strokes his hips dagger. All three of them had knight swords and short spears taken up, but only daggers and knife types were allowed to possess them.

Perhaps you are telling yourself to protect yourself, in a forest from which demons and beasts do not always emerge.

"For once, it sounds like you're going to take us to their city. Originally, we were going there too. In a way, if you think you can guide me that far with an escort, it would be easy."

From the start, Kelvin seems to be going to let the Elves fight him if something strikes him. It is a swallowing look with a soft grin, as always.

As a matter of fact, their attitude during the escort is only being poked at weapons and they are not seen to take any further action. Regardless, that would not be the case if you showed a defiant attitude.

"There's nothing we can do in this situation. Follow them very carefully."

Winn and Rock looked at each other to see if that was okay, but Kelvin was certainly right. There's nothing they can do right now.

Looks like you should do what they say for the most part. While walking, Winn explores the signs of a man who seems to be the leader of the elves walking behind him.

From earlier on, he alone had created a swordswallowing atmosphere to an unusual extent.

If Captain Lloyds hasn't heard from the Elves about themselves, it's possible that Winns are in danger of violating the Elves' realm.

So I know I'll be vigilant enough.

But that elf leader's gaze - his eyes that dwelt in some faint light. I feel something else willed rather than just coming from vigilance. Winn felt like he was even willing to kill me.

I guess the hostility of the leader to the anomaly he unleashes is somehow guessing around him as well. The other elves were walking in a tense atmosphere somewhere.

Maybe that's why Kelvin is walking somewhere out of the way.

While somewhere nervous, the line walks solemnly through the woods. Towards a settlement for the elves.

"Wow..............."

………………

"This is... how wonderful..."

The size of the settlement is about the village. I can only say it's a prudent size to be called a line-strength race, but the magnificence of its landscape was something that there was not much to make up for.

Central part of the settlement. One giant tree that keeps sparkling pale and glowing there.

Even though the sun's light was blocked by the surrounding trees, the brilliance of giant trees was illuminating the settlement brightly. At the roots of the giant trees a pond was formed made of water flowing in from the gorge, whose brilliance reflected on the surface of the water, creating a truly fantastic sight.

"Hey, Rock. Me... I know Letty has been on a really tough journey as a brave man. But there was some flattery somewhere in my heart. Traveling around the world, seeing all kinds of things, getting in touch with all kinds of people... I know it must have been tough, but I was so jealous. Really, the world is huge..."

"... right"

Winn accidentally stopped and stared at the landscape to eat in.

Don't the elves feel bad about being praised for their settlement, too, and they stopped and waited without any particular haste.

"That big tree with its strange glow is the World Tree?

"No, it's a young tree in a world tree to be exact. Deep underground, world trees strewn all over the continent. You're a young tree that's grown from its roots. Deep in the woods, we heard the elves create cities and settlements around the young trees of the world trees. Nevertheless, I didn't know the young trees of the world tree were so beautiful..."

The conversation broke off and the three continued to see the sight without a voice.

"How beautiful is the world tree itself if this is a young tree... I wish I could see it someday"

'Hey, that'll be enough. Time to go.'

Encouraged, a line goes on to the elf settlement.

As we approach the center of the settlement, the young trees of the world tree, we see its full content.

"Is the grain of light glowing?

As we approached, instead of the young trees of the world tree shining themselves, we saw something like a small droplet gushing out of the young tree and its grains emitting pale phosphorescence. From a distance that was who was shining the young tree.

Forgetting the fact that he was being taken, Winn was just overwhelmed by the sight.

"Stay in."

The three were brought together as the only stone building in a settlement of elves with many wooden buildings.

I guess it's used as a barn.

Now it was time for the Wins, who had all their weapons taken up, to be trapped inside that stone building.

"... what will happen now"

Rock whines as he slaps the building wall. Looks like a pretty sturdy build.

There are two small buildings windows that combine lighting and ventilation. It's only big enough for a person's head to go through or not. The only entrance and exit were the entrance doors, but the locks had been closed from the outside disappointingly.

"This is just going to be hard to get out of."

"... I was wondering if I could get a meal or something"

Winn said, rubbing his stomach complaining a little hungry. Bags with portable food along with weapons have also been taken away.

"... it hurts not to have food. More than that, Lieutenant, do you realize about magic?

"Yeah. You're completely sealed. Though this seems similar to the sealed demonic kingdom of the Imperial capital. Perhaps the magic ceremony is different. Is it elf magic?"

"Huh? I didn't realize..."

"Well, Winn has little magic. You won't be able to ignore it."

"The sealed demonic kingdom of the Empire is the six towers surrounding the imperial capital and the tower of the central part of the imperial capital. Together, it can be deployed by activating the Ritual Magic Formation for Magic Amplification, which is installed in the seven towers, but I didn't see anything like it here. Rock, since when did you feel a magic freak?

"It wasn't until I walked into this building that I felt sealed with magic."

"I'm with you. In other words, only this building will have the magic of a magical seal."

"Is sealing magic that hard?

"Right. I have some idea of magic that inhibits magic activation, or magic seals that target individuals. But it was a very difficult magic to restrict the place and seal the magic of an unspecified number of people who entered the place, exercised at least on a personal basis - no, it might be possible with the magic of the brave, the wise, the Virgin class, but as far as I know, you've never heard of anyone who could use it."

"Is it that hard..."

Kelvin nods at Winn's whining.

"Right, you know that when you apply grant magic to others, it's less effective than when you apply it to yourself, right? It is believed that this is because the magic the subject possesses will resist the influence of the magic received from others. The magic of magic seals can say the same thing. Earlier, I said that there exists a magic seal magic aimed at individuals, but that magic also needs to be powerful enough to overwhelm the target, and ordinary human wizards will do their best to weaken the target's magic."

"But now it feels completely sealed with magic, doesn't it?"

"Yes. Rock, you're right. You're perfectly sealed, just like when His Excellency Zaunas had the coup."

"Does the Elves have that much magic..."

"Sure, the elves have more magic than people, but they still don't have enough magic to seal an unspecified amount of magic in space. I think it's magic using young trees from the world tree."

Winn glanced out the window for the lighting.

I can even see it from here. Beautiful giant tree with a pale glow.

"Is that light the magic that springs from the world tree"

In retrospect, when Letty also meant it, the magic was overflowing outside and her whole body was wrapped in a golden glow. A phenomenon similar to the world tree that supports the world can occur individually - again, I can see why Letty is out of standard and has become a brave man.

"If the weapon is taken away and the magic is sealed, you'll be fine. I don't have rice, and I can only sleep."

Locke lowered his hips to the floor. I didn't see anything in this room that I said desk or chair. Fur cloth and...

"You seem to have quite a few blankets...... hmm?

Kelvin stopped as he tried to walk over to something like a blanket that was piled up messily in the back of the room, in the corner.

"What's going on? Deputy Director"

"No, like something's working now?

Line up next to Kelvin, who stopped his leg, and Winn stares too. Then the blanket did look slightly up and down.

Kelvin glanced at Winn. The lock also becomes cautiously mid-waisted so as not to make any noise.

Winn slowly approaches the heap of blankets to avoid making footsteps. And once I looked back at Kelvin and Locke and made sure they both nodded - pulled the blanket off and grabbed the wrist of the person lurking beneath it.

(Is that it? thinner than I thought...?

Thin, luxurious arms.

"- Whoa! No... let go, please don't kill me..."

Fine, tearful little voice.

"Huh? Oh, girl?

While Winn grabbed me by the wrist of my left hand, the girl squatted in the blanket looked up at Winn with fear and tears as she shuddered.
