Master of the brave.

Eltz Adventurer Guild

The next morning.

Winns, who revealed the night at the Earl of Elsted's house, decided to leave the mansion behind when they had breakfast in the room where the dinner party was held last night.

Before the armies of the Kleifdorf Marquis can besiege Elz, they must pass through the pits of Mount Magil to the Kingdom of Lyon.

The three of them, Alfred, Lloyds and Kelvin, are going to the Barracks of the Private Knights of the Earl of Elsted to discuss what is to come.

Lloyds' wives dropped me off at the front door.

"Don't you all think you're scared that the town of Ertz might be engulfed in war from now on? Or is it some kind of certainty that this town can make it through this difficult thing safely?

Hearing about yesterday, Cornelia asked Lloyds' wives what they cared about. There's no way they haven't heard from their husband, Lloyds, of the ordeal they're going to visit Ertz. But even in the breakfast table this morning, they saw no fright or anxiety.

To Cornelia's question, Lloyds' wives looked at each other. And on their behalf, a woman in her late twenties or so named Lila, the oldest of the wives, answered the Crown Princess's question.

"Come on, we don't know that far either. But I'm sure your husband will do something about it, so we're going to have the same routine until your husband says something."

"You're trusted, my Count."

"Of course you are. So, my lord, my lord. Please don't worry about us and come to Lyon. We sincerely wish you a safe journey."

When they bowed their heads in front of the gates of the front door, the smile they floated was never false, but heartfelt.

◇ ◆ ◇ ◆ ◇

"First, you have a map of the pit."

Winns, who followed the mansion of the Earl of Elsted family, first asked the Guild of Mine Workers.

The Mine Workers Guild was contacted beforehand by Lloyds, and he was given a map of the pit without a thing.

"Wow, what the hell..."

I saw a copy of the map Winn had received from the guild's officials and whined in a way that Rock didn't think.

The pits depicted there were intricately intertwined as if the threads were tangled.

There are so many intersections drawn in that it seems to be countless, but I don't even know if that intersection intersects on the plane, or if it intersects the upper, lower layers in 3D.

Maybe that overlaps many layers. Many of those maps were given to me.

"I have no choice. They say this is the most accurate map. Besides, they're still digging deeper and deeper into the pit, and it's changing every day."

"Is that how you get to Lyon properly..."

When Winn says, Rock looks up to heaven with his eyes covered with his right hand.

"This... could we just get lost?

Leticia, who had her eyes on the map just like Rock, gives a troubled look when she sees Winn.

That's what she says of the six most accustomed to traveling: Wynn, Leticia, Cornelia, Rock, Lino and Wedge.

"I'm not scared to get lost deep underground."

When Leno held his head, the wedge standing beside her also nodded.

"For once, they say the pit connected near the border of the Kingdom of Lyon is already abandoned, so it doesn't mean that it is still being dug and the road will change. But Letty's right, it's just us. Then you're a little nervous."

"Why don't you ask the Mine Workers Guild for directions?

Follow Cornelia's suggestion to visit Alliance staff for directions. The response from the Mine Workers Guild, however, was that if you want directions on abandoned pits, you should go to the Adventurers Guild and look for adventurers familiar with abandoned pits.

"Adventurer?

How can you be an adventurer instead of asking a miner to guide you through a pit? Leticia asked the returning Wynn wonderfully.

"It seems that once the pit has been decided, the miners will never descend. And this pit that leads to Lyon was abandoned almost sixty years ago, and no one knows this pit, the miner who's diving now."

"So, how come we're talking about adventurers being good?

"Sometimes demons live in abandoned pits, and once every few years, a massive crusade of demons was carried out by adventurers. That's why the Adventurer Alliance has more maps of what was actually used in the crusade at the time, and they know more about abandoned pit roads."

"Yeah? There's a demon?"

When Winn answered Rock, Leno looked disgusted.

"What's with the demons... me and the undead ~?"

"There could be an undead..."

Leticia says.

"If there are victims in a mine accident or something, there might be an undead if there's a demon in there."

"Letty, what other demons do you come up with?

When Wynn asked, Leticia leaned her ankle and thought.

"Hmmm... I've never fought that much in a cave-like place either. Other than the undead, the devil's goblins and cobolts often live in caves and scrap pits. If it's a warcraft, is it reptile like snakes or lizards? And what else is a bug-based demon? Worms and scorpions...... I guess it's the ants I don't particularly want to meet. Anyway, there's a lot of them..."

"What's a worm?

"Mimizu Demon"

Winn responds to Leno's question.

Worm is a demon that chews through the earth, whether it's dirt or rock. Bugs and small animals in the ground, when they become big, they eat not only large animals, but even demons.

Are you searching for prey with vibrations and sounds transmitted through the ground, sometimes attacking people?

It's just that mouth teeth that chew through rocks, skin as hard as rock skin, are troublesome, but if an adventurer had just the strength to crush those attacks and crush hard skin, he was also a demon that could target a thousand bucks. Often, mineral crystals accumulate in the body of the worm. Especially if you're a worm living in a mine with a goldmine vein, sometimes you'll find gold in your belly.

When Leno heard Winn's explanation of the worm, his disgust with giant mites seemed to prevail. Goosebumps,

"I want bugs to give me a break too..."

"I agree with that opinion... Lino"

"But there are quite a few other bug-based demons, not just underground, right? Brother."

"Yeah. I wonder if there are many bug-based demons in the woods and low mountains as well. What I personally don't want to meet is a mosquito demon. Bee poison needles are a pain in the ass, but when a mosquito demon hits you, you suck your fluids alive."

When Winn was attending the Adventurers Guild, the Empire had issued urgent requests to all the adventurers who belonged through the Simlug Adventurers Guild.

A village dweller was found dead overnight, only skin and bones.

The cause of this is the mosquito demon.

Bug-shaped demons with the ability to fly and operating only by instinct can strike travelers one after the other traveling through villages and streets if left alone.

Knights, soldiers, and adventurers affiliated with the Simurgh Adventurer Alliance split into the woods with man-made sea tactics to find and defeat mosquito demons.

Wynn never fought directly, but he sees the body of a soldier attacked during a crusade.

Bodies that have been inhaled with body fluids and have become only skin and bones.

According to another soldier who witnessed the attack, the mosquito demon who scratched his weapon sucked the contents out of his sight as he inserted a giant mouth into the neck of the poor soldier.

He said the scream of the Terminator, who was sucked into the contents of his body and gradually weakened, was a sight he didn't think belonged to the world.

"Hey... you're lying, right? Is there such a demon?

You imagined it when you heard about Winn, Leticia gave a subtle look to the bright blue rock.

I wonder how many times Leticia also saw such sights.

"Me too...... I kinda wanted you to give me a break for the bug-based demons"

Cornelia in tears shrugged her shoulders and shivered all the time.

"I'm glad I didn't meet such a monster on a regular crusade mission."

"Really..."

"Well, I don't think we meet mosquito demons just inside the pit. 'Cause they're only near a swamp invaded by curiosity."

Winn laughs bitterly when he sees three people, Cornelia, Rock and Leno, face to face and nod at each other.

"Bye, brother. Going to the Adventurer Guild?

"Right. Ask where the Eltz Adventurer Alliance is and go."

When we discussed that, Winn and Leticia stood up first and walked out.

◇ ◆ ◇ ◆ ◇

The Adventurer's Guild in the town of Ertz was a two-story building, and here too the town's specialty, the Tabernacle Tower, was built in the centre.

It also looks like a lumber-rich Eltz. The building is made of total wood, with Adventurer Guild signs at the height of the second floor.

Once inside, the first floor is the reception of the Adventurers Guild and a liquor store in the back. I guess upstairs combines a private room with an inn.

Naturally, it was smaller than the Simlug Adventurer Guild East Branch. There are only five tables placed in the back tavern, and only two pairs of parties of adventurers surrounding the table. Both parties were still young, late teens to twenties, young people there.

When Winn went inside and looked around, the adventurers who were eating booze and food sent a frivolous glance to give it to him. The Wins are now wearing simple shirts and trousers without armor. However, four people, Winn, Rock, Leno and Wedge, wear the matching ones. He wasn't an adventurer, he was dressed to show that he belonged to some sort of organization.

They had a blatantly unpleasant look on their face, but when Leticia and Cornelia come in following Winn, they look at it with a flinching and intriguing look.

I guess I spotted them both as not ordinary people at a glance.

I looked especially at Leticia and looked out for the beauty she had.

You took the lead together and saw Wynn looking around in the guild as a delegate, or an old man with a front came to voice.

"A guest? Or is that a favor?

There is another official at the reception and tavern in Simlug, but in this guild the old man seemed to do both. I wonder if he used to make a name for himself as an adventurer too, his arms peeking from his wrapped shirt still had muscles, albeit old, and by the way, scars caused by blades.

"It's a request. We're looking for adventurers who can guide you through the pits of the Magil mine."

When you name Magill, the old man looks intriguingly at Leticia and Cornelia behind Winn.

"Guided by Magil's pit? Ho, what can I do for you aristocratic ladies in such a place... No, you asked me a stupid question. Forget it."

Requests to adventurers are confidential. The old man couldn't have known about that promise either, but I guess he accidentally leaked the truth out of his mouth when he saw Leticia and Cornelia. Apologizing to Wynn immediately, he sent him to the counter with the old man.

"So... was it a guide to Magil's pit?"

"Yeah, I want to go through Magil's pit and get out to Lyon."

The old man roared in the back of his throat as he showed the map of the pit he had received at the Mine Workers Guild.

"It's not an abandoned pit...... Hmm. Hey, you guys! The path through Magil's abandoned pit road to Lyon, can you get there?

"Oh? Pit to Lyon? Don't be silly, Grandpa. It was over sixty years ago when that pit was abandoned, wasn't it? Speaking of pits back then, it's pretty deep in the mountains. We're a little..."

The adventurers were hoping to hear if it was a rewarding job the nobles would bring in, but they are butting in when they hear about the directions of the pit that leads out to Lyon.

The old man looked to one party in the back, but the man who seemed to be the leader of that party shook his head with his hands up.

"Hmmm...... jarrow"

"Uh... is it such a dangerous place?

Winn asks, the old man has looked up with half an eye.

"You guys were going into that mountain without knowing anything..."

"Danger...... is it?

"I don't know about that. The area around the new pit with the mining district is reasonably good, but the old pit

People don't come near me now. Demons can easily live in pit-like holes in such places "

The old man turned his eyes to the Magil Mountains, visible through the window.

"Besides, Magil also inhabits beasts like bears, wolves, and phantom beast species like dragon species. If you're not an adventurer with too many arms, it's not a place to go and step in."

"I heard he's a coalition of mine workers and regularly crusades demons around the pit. That's why the adventurers are more familiar with the abandoned tunnels."

The old man nodded.

"Indeed, we also have a map with a way out to Lyon. Some of you have been there before... but all of you with experience are paying for it. Now, those who stay here are still young, and they cannot go to Majil as an Alliance."

"Is the captain trying to get us on that path?

Rock, who was listening to Winn interact with the old man, whispered to his neighbor Leno.

"His Royal Highness Cornelia is here..."

"I'd like to know if you think it's okay because Leticia is here."

Leticia shrugged her shoulders small.

"Sure, because I, the elder-class dragon, can't beat you."

"I think we can handle this when it comes to demons. Is it difficult to just be a directing officer? We have a reward for that."

"Are you knights?

The old man turned to the three Rock, Leno and Wedge behind the wins in conversation.

"Yes."

"I don't know what's wrong..."

An old man looks sinister.

There are two noble daughters and four knights.

Indeed, a knight's combat power is far better than a concurrent adventurer's.

But the old man seemed to care about Winns' youth.

That's when Winn tried to open his mouth.

"Hey, Grandpa. Can you feed me?

One man came down from upstairs.

About fifty years old? Shortly pruned red hair, bearded man. Are you asleep, or I scratched the back of my sleeping habit with a bold scratch of my head for a big stretch.

"Oh, yeah! There you are!

An old man shouted and looked at the man.

"Oh?"

"You'd have dived into Magil's abandoned tunnel, wouldn't you?

"Oh, well, then there are a few times, but what happened to that?

The old man suddenly spreads the subject, and a man makes his eyes black and white.

"You haven't been working on anything lately, have you? Just now, I have a job for you to guide me down the abandoned pit road in Magil, don't you think? Olt."

A man called Olt puts his hand on his chin where he walks down the stairs and thinks about it. Then where I wandered my gaze to look at the old man, I turned around and saw Winn's face looking at me.

"Ah? That? You... somewhere?

"... Could it be, Mr. Olt? I used to be in the Adventurer Guild in Simlug..."

Seven years ago, it was a reunion with Olt, an axman adventurer who fought alongside a powerful demon clan to protect a little winged girl.
