(Author’s POV)

"NO~ ... BEING MATED TO YOU IS THEIR SACRED BLESSING, NOT YOURS," the goddess said without any hitch.

Myra looked at her, dumbfounded, a bit rattled by the goddess’s words. Flustered, her insecure thoughts taking over her mind, ’I am their blessing? How? They are~ .... werewolves with immense power; they are Lycans, and I am~ ... just a~ ... normal human. So, how can I be their~ ....?"

"MY CHILD, YOU HAVE A LOT OF SELF DOUBTS," the goddess commented rather playfully. "NO BEING WHO HAS MY GRACE IS ORDINARY IN ANY WAY. ESPECIALLY NOT YOU. YOU POSSESS A RARE GIFT; NO ONE IN THE MORTAL WORLD DOES."

Myra’s eyes flickered as the goddess continued, "DO YOU KNOW WHY THOSE DEMONS WERE SO OBSESSED BY YOUR BLOOD?"

"Wasn’t I just a sacrifice for their demonic ritual?" Myra stated, reciting what she had heard so far.

The moon goddess’s words hit Myra like lightning: "FOR THAT, THEY COULD HAVE CHOSEN ANY LIVING HUMAN, BUT THEY WERE SPECIFICALLY LONGING FOR YOU. YOU KNOW WHY? ... BECAUSE YOUR BLOOD HOLDS THE POWER NOT JUST TO HEAL SOMEONE, BUT TO BRING A MORTAL ON THE BRINK OF DEATH BACK TO LIFE. FOR AN IMMORTAL BEING, IT CAN HELP THEM NOURISH AND STRENGTHEN THEIR POWERS TENFOLD. YOUR BLOOD HAS THE ESSENCE OF THE DRAUGHT OF AMBROSIA, MY DEAR CHILD. IN HUMAN TONGUE, YOU CAN CALL IT ELIXIR OF LIFE."

Myra opened her mouth, then closed it like a fish. Fumbling, she said, "Are you really sure you are talking about me, moon goddess? You haven’t mistaken me for someone else, right?"

"HAHHAHA~ ... YOU ARE FUNNY. HOW CAN I NOT RECOGNIZE MY OWN BLESSED CHILD?" the goddess giggled. She then uttered something unexpected, "YOU SEE DIFFERENT, FAMILIAR AND UNFAMILIAR VISIONS IN YOUR DREAMS. AND WHENEVER YOU ARE TRULY IN DANGER, THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU FREEZE. APART FROM YOU, EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE ELSE STOP. ISN’T IT CORRECT?"

"H~ How do you know?" Myra was shell-shocked. She had been having such random dreams since childhood. As for the other thing, she always thought she was just hallucinating.

"I KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU. THOSE DREAMS YOU SEE ARE NOT RANDOM. THEY ARE ONE OF THE FRAGMENTS OF THE PAST OR FUTURE MEMORIES OF THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU. EACH ONE IS TRYING TO TELL YOU SOMETHING," the goddess revealed. "AND AS FOR THE OTHER, YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO CHRONOKINESIS."

Myra promptly remembered all her supernatural encounters and then asked, "You mentioned I can halt time when my life is at risk, right? If that’s true, what about the time those three monstrous beings kidnapped me? I actually died then; why didn’t my ability activate?"

The goddess gave her a wry smile this time, "IT WAS BECAUSE YOUR EMOTIONS WERE NOT STABLE AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. NEITHER HAD YOU ACCEPTED ANY OF THE LYCANS AS YOUR MATE ... HAVING A SUPERNATURAL ABILITY AND USING IT ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS, MYRA. THE MORE YOUR PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL STATE IS IN TURMOIL. THE MORE YOU TRY TO RUN AWAY FROM YOUR FATED MATES, THE MORE YOU WILL HAVE A HARD TIME ACTIVATING YOUR TRUE ABILITIES PROPERLY."

That night, when Amy told her that she was her birth mother, Myra truly was in a wrecked state. Myra didn’t utter a word for a long while, trying to process every piece of information that came her way. "So, what she is saying is true. I~ .... really have such powers."

"MYRA, THESE ARE NOT THE ONLY ABILITIES YOU POSSESS," the moon goddess told her. "THIS IS JUST THE FRACTION OF WHAT YOU CAN ACTUALLY DO."

"W~ wait, there is more?" Myra’s eyes expanded. "What is it?"

"YES, BUT I DON’T WANT TO OVERWHELM YOU MORE THAN YOU ALREADY ARE. WHEN THE RIGHT TIME COMES, YOU WILL GRADUALLY KNOW ABOUT IT ALL. FOR NOW~ ... YOU JUST NEED TO REMEMBER THIS THING: A UNIFIED MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT WILL CULTIVATE YOUR POWERS. AND THAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN YOU STAY IN HARMONY WITH ALL YOUR MATES. THE MORE YOU OPEN YOUR HEART TO THEM, AND THEY WILL TO YOU, THE MORE YOU WILL AWAKEN YOUR TRUE POTENTIALS," she answered truthfully. "NOW, IT IS TIME FOR YOU TO GO BACK TO YOUR REALM, MY CHILD."

"Wait, wait, wait~ .... I want to ask one last question, just this. Why did you bond me with four mates? Is it even okay to be with all of them? Isn’t it unfair to them? What if they don’t want to be with me or I don’t want to be with them? Forcing someone against their will- I am not that kind of a person," Myra conveyed her true feelings. Because accepting she was mated to them to save their skins and loving them equally was a different thing altogether.

The goddess only smiled at her and said, "MY CHILD, YOU THINK THIS IS YOUR FIRST LIFE TOGETHER WITH THEM. YOUR FATES HAVE BEEN ENTANGLED SINCE A LONG TIME AGO~ ... each one of them ... ~AS FOR WHETHER THEY ARE UNWILLING, IT IS NOT SOMETHING I CAN ANSWER. I HAVE TOLD YOU EARLIER, IF YOU WISH TO END ANY OR ALL OF YOUR BONDS, YOU MAY INITIATE IT; I WILL PERMIT YOU, BUT THERE WILL BE A GREATER PRICE YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY. Now~ ... you may return. Don’t tell anyone about what you saw and heard here. Let it be our little secret, hmm~ ..." saying this, the goddess’s midnight blue eyes changed to sharp grey, as Myra clutched her head with both hands, feeling a spell of sudden dizziness. She collapsed on the floor. With heavy eyelids, she glanced at the goddess one last time, then her hazels shut on their own.

The next time she opened her eyes, she was back in the mortal world. Standing in the middle of now-ruined demon circles, she looked around and saw all the lesser demons who had mocked her, lying on the floor, squirming and convulsing violently, getting burnt by the mix of the rare wolfsbane root and hellfire. Then her eyes zeroed in on the demonic pair of Elisa and Aamon.

Aamon was unaffected, but that couldn’t be said for Elisa. Though Aamon was protecting her from the hellfire, she had inhaled a good amount of aconitum. She was on the verge of perishing.

Aamon looked straight at her with one eye red and the other black. Barking with fury and desperation, "YOU THINK YOU HAVE WON. THIS ISN’T OVER YET."
