Chapter 577: Your Purpose Is Fulfilled
(Author’s POV)
"No~ ... you can’t have them," Myra muttered, her tone defiant, her eyes blazing like wildfire.
Elisa gave her an amused look and asked, "And why do you say that?"
Zeroing her hazels on Elisa, Myra mouthed word by word, "Because~ ... the Everests Brothers are mine." Her tone was firm, possessive even. "I, Myra Miracle, am their fated mate. So, you, Elisa, demon queen or whatever you are, cannot claim my mates. They belong to me."
Listening to her confession, Elisa was left dumbfounded, her mouth wide open in shock. But that lasted only for five seconds. She cackled and then burst out loud like a child, "HAHAHAHHAH ahhahahhahah~~ .... you are there, what? ..... BwaHAhahahAHaahaha ...." Her hand was on her mouth as she continued her maniacal laughter to Myra’s face. Her devotees joined in again; their shared laughter casting an eerie chill to the atmosphere.
On Elisa’s open mocking, neither Myra’s eyes nor her body language faltered; they remained as is.
Seeing her this confident, Elisa cut short her laughter and spoke, her voice full of contempt, "For someone so denigrated, you sure dream big, uhh? A human mutt being paired with a werewolf. I haven’t heard that once in my near millennial time. And you are claiming that not just one of them~ ... but you are bonded with all four Lycan Alphas? Myra, oh, Myra~ .... I knew you were an ambitious bitch but never thought you were that greedy, hmm. What~ .... not going to act like your usual goody to shoes self anymore, huhh?"
"I only spoke the truth," Myra uttered, without any fear.
Seeing her fearlessness, Elisa was pissed; her eyes narrowed. She grabbed Myra by the neck roughly and snarled, "Shameless wretch. Don’t you dare act cocky in front of me. You measly pest, the Lycan Alphas are mine; I own them now." She wrung it, making Myra lose her breath.
Myra, clutching Elisa’s hands desperately, replied, her voice tight from the pressure, "What? Got your little ego hurt? Or did the truth bruise your sentiment?"
Elisa compressed her hand even tighter around her neck, her nails digging, ready to rip her throat. But even this did not stop Myra; it only made her bolder. Chokingly, she said, "You cann~ot o~wn any~ of th~em. The~y are n~ot y~our pro~per~ty. The~y ar~e my~ mat~es." She dared to say this even though the lack of oxygen had made her face go reddish purple.
Aamon stepped in immediately. Holding Elisa’s wrist, he spoke, his voice lowered, "My queen, she is just trying to provoke you. Don’t do anything rash. This human sacrifice’s blood is still needed to complete the ritual. Calm down, or else everything will be for nought."
Elisa snapped out of it at once and let go of Myra, knocking her like disposable trash to the ground. Clasping her neck, Myra heaved heavily, trying to eat out the air as much as she could.
Witnessing the whole scene and seeing the angry finger marks on Myra’s neck, a chord was struck in the depths of all the Lycan brothers’ hearts. They all were aroused from their deep slumber, something their wolves had been struggling to do.
The first one to speak was Brave. Shedding his usual calm self, he scowled, his sharp browns resembling a spark of a live wire, "Elisa~ .... don’t you dare lay a finger on her." Saying this, he barred his fangs at her, now using more strength to break out of the circle.
Both Elisa and Aamon were flabbergasted to see him lunge out of the mind controlling spell. This has never happened, ever.
Then another voice erupted, "If you do that again, I will rip your throat apart." Elisa gasped as she and Aamon shifted their attention to find Alaric warning them; his sapphires were brewing with a glacial fury.
"Not just your throat, but your entire body will be shredded to millions of pieces, you vicious demons," Dion grumbled darkly. His golden greens had shifted to a dangerous sulphur yellow.
Last but not least, Elio’s threat came next, his voice heavy; his greenish blues flashed like lightning in a stormy sky, "Touch a strand of hair on her body and we will make sure you will turn to dust, here and now."
’Hh~ how?’ Stunned, Aamon’s eyes darted around towards the formation. The demon circles were intact, still glowing, working as they should. So, how were they able to extricate themselves from the dormancy? Lycans or not, they were from the mortal world. How could they do the impossible?
His mind raced. ’No, this can’t be happening. I am the Marquis of Hell. No one can defeat me. Not them, not anyone.’ he opened his palm and directed it towards the Lycan Alphas. Out of nowhere, several thick, thorny silver chains emerged and snaked around the brothers’ bodies, shackling them in place.
Several painful roars tore through the atmosphere as the spiked silver rustled against their bare skins, lacerating their flesh. But Aamon didn’t stop at that. Without wasting a second breath, he raised both his hands as a sizeable ball of blazing hot hellfire appeared, ready to throw it at them.
Myra was horrified to see the brothers’ agonizing suffering. Her chest tightened, her body trembled as if she could feel their pain. As if it was her own. Then her eyes landed on Aamon and expanded in fright. She instantly realized what Aamon was about to do and her heart leapt in her throat.
Only the heavens knew where she got such immense strength despite her frail body. She pushed herself up from the ground and blocked Aamon’s way, shouting, crying, begging, "You cannot do this. They will die."
Aamon, resembling a total madman, answered, his orbs feverish, his tone utterly menacing, "Oooh~ ... they already are~ .... I am helping things accelerate. Because once they die, everything will be back to how it should be." Unceremoniously, wrapping his blade like tail around her body, he seized her. Its pointed edge clasped her right wrist in a vice like grip. "You need to help me reach my goal. Won’t you help me, friend?" Saying this, with one stroke, his sharpened tail cut her flesh.
Myra shrieked as fresh blood oozed out of her deeply torn skin.
Smirking at her with absolute cruelty and ruthlessness, he spoke, his voice arctic, "Myra Miracle, your purpose here is fulfilled. Wish to be with them. Go die with those rabid dogs~ .... you sewer rat. You belong with each other. GOOO DIEEEEE~~~~~~~~ BURN WITH THEM." He thrust Myra back with mighty force, screaming, "BURNNNNNNN~~~~~~~~~~~~ ....."
