Chapter 576: They Belong To Me
(Author’s POV)
’OUR MATE IS IN THE HANDS OF THAT VICIOUS WITCH. SHE IS IN DANGER. YOU NEED TO SNAP OUT OF IT,’ the wolves howled, shrieked, screamed, barked, did everything they could to wake their human counterparts. They forgot all about the harrowing they were suffering and could only see Myra, heavily chained, with her eyes shut, hauled by those ugly devil looking creatures. They were all eyeing her, licking their charcoal lips, salivating like total beasts as if she were some feast to dig in.
But unfortunately, the demon circles’ power was overriding theirs by a margin. It was made up of the blood of an immortal straight from hell, Aamon, after all. The full moon was augmenting the efficacy tenfold. And the Arcanalith’s channelling it made it nearly impossible to awaken the brothers. So, none of the wolves could reach to them. But this did not stop them. It made them more violent, more eager, more belligerent. Despite the toxic silver entering their lungs with each breath, they thrashed and growled with all their might.
The lesser demons brought a manacled Myra to Elisa’s side. She looked like a prisoner who was about to be executed.
Elisa lifted Myra’s chin with her blood soaked hand, smearing her face with purplish liquid. The scent, or rather the foul rotten stench, woke Myra up.
After opening her eyes, the first thing she saw was Elisa’s face up close, giving her a devilish grin, "Awake?"
She blinked for a fraction of a second, then all the memories before her passing out crashed down on her at once; her eyes widened in shock. She tried to lurch back from Elisa’s hold, but her body felt heavy and refused to move.
"My golden goose, where do you think you are going?" Elisa spoke, her voice a mere whisper. "Did you forget your promise already?"
Myra recalled her own words, and her breath hitched. She had agreed to give Elisa and Aamon her blood, but in return asked them to leave her parents’ lives.
Her eyes darted around to see whether William and Sandra had been freed or not. But what she saw made a chill run down her spine. Hundreds of the red, black, and purple colored lesser demons were circling them. Each had a small pair of horns and a spiked club in their hands. They all were sneering and slavering, staring straight at her. It gave her goosebumps.
With a tremor in her voice, she dared to ask, "Wh~ ... what about~ ... my parents?"
Elisa patted her cheek twice with the back of her hand and remarked, "What a filial daughter, uh? Even on death’s door, still thinking about them. Are you going to make someone like me emotional?" She feigned wiping a tear.
"Are they safe?" Myra questioned, ignoring her comments and her gesture; her expression hardened.
"What? You think I won’t keep my word," Elisa said. "See for yourself." Saying this, she tapped her forehead lightly, as a vision appeared in front of Myra. Her parents had just stepped inside the house. Wendy came towards them and asked, "Mom, Dad, where did you go? I called you, sis and Yelena sis dozens of times; none of you answered." She looked past them and asked, "Where are they? Did they not come with you?"
William spoke in his usual voice, "We met Ms. Queens on the way. She had invited Myra and Yelena for dinner. The three of them will be going to see a movie afterwards and stay the night at the hotel."
"Huhh?" Wendy was confused by the suddenness. She queried, "Then, why are both their phones unreachable?"
"It ran out of battery. Don’t worry, we already spoke to Myra. She says she and Yelena are fine. They will be back in the morning," Sandra assured her.
With that, the vision ended, bringing Myra back to reality.
"Now that you have seen it. It’s time to keep the end of your agreement, Myra Miracle," Elisa muttered. "See~ ... I even brought your friends to keep you company," she inclined her head to the side. "Aren’t I good?"
Myra looked in the said direction. Her eyes squinted immediately because of the intense light coming from the circles. But once she had adjusted, her hazels expanded in sheer horror. The four sturdy, part animal, part human figures were floundering and wrestling right in front of her. Their eyes were radiating dangerously, looking in her direction as if calling for her.
She recognized them in a heartbeat as she gulped down hard. She glanced at Elisa with raging orbs, and barked, "ELISA, WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING? WHY ARE~ ... WHY ARE THE EVERESTS BROTHERS HERE? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO THEM?"
Elisa scoffed, "Ohhoo~ ... so you knew about their origin all along, huhh?" She leaned in, "To take them with me to hell and make them mine." She said it so low that only Myra heard her.
Myra’s eyes darted to all four of them. Seeing them flailing in pain made her heart wretch. It felt like she was getting torn apart again and again and again. With gritted teeth, she spat, "You wanted me. Leave them out of it."
"Hahahaha~ .... BwWaAHAHAHAHA~ .... HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA~~~~~ ...." Elisa guffawed right at her face. The crowd, without knowing, joined in. The laughter reverberated. She then looked at Myra as if she was an idiot, "Do you think all this setup is because of you, human? Hahh~ .... don’t give so much importance to yourself. You are nothing but my golden goose sacrifice, a.k.a, my blood bank, a pawn on my chessboard. Nothing more. The ones I have been eyeing are them, the Lycan Alphas~ ...." She claimed, staring at the four with a look which made Myra nauseous.
Her stomach twisted; her heart burned at Elisa’s words. Something within stirred, shifting as electricity coursed through her. Her instincts were running wild, as she shouted for everyone to hear, "NO, YOU CAN’T HAVE THEM."
Elisa’s brows furrowed, then relaxed as she said, "Hahh~ .... And why do you say that?"
"Because the Everests brothers~ .... are mine," Myra confessed, glaring straight into her eyes, her voice unshakable. "I~ .... Myra Miracle .... am their fated mate. So, you cannot have them, demon queen. They belong to me."
