Chapter 610: Where Is His Grandfather?
(Author’s POV)
"I will go to the Miracles right now," Dion said, then quickly added, "She will be devastated to hear the news, and I am the only one who can help with her emotions."
Alaric gritted their teeth but didn’t oppose him. With his abilities, he knew Dion was the best person, and the one Myra would need most. Elio clenched his fists but didn’t stop him.

Brave hummed, "Alright, Dion, you will go to her house. But~ .... don’t go at this time. If you do, Myra will insist on coming here. We need to keep her identity hidden from Catherine and Brian. And there’s a good chance someone associated with them might attend too. They must not know who Myra is. So, go to her house just before the start of the funeral proceedings." He instructed.
Alaric added, "One more thing: don’t bring her family members, only her. This place is lurking with vampire lords. The fewer people to keep an eye on, the less trouble we will have."
Dion pursed his lips and nodded.
Elio then asked, "What about Yelena? Should we tell her too? After all, she was also Fabian’s friend."
"She is already stressed because of her grandfather. Plus, she and her family must be on the flight to Damona already," Brave remarked, recalling Yelena’s face. Somehow, he felt pity for her. "No need to tell her."
After their brief meeting, they checked the arrangements and waited until it was around eight thirty. Then Dion drove to get the Miracles.

During the short drive, Myra kept her hazels outside the window, but her thoughts were elsewhere. Fabian’s face kept appearing before her eyes. His final words reverberated in her head like a broken record. Her eyes moistened again as she chewed on her lower lip.
Dion glanced her way with a tight expression. With one hand on the steering wheel, he offered her a tissue. "Here, take it."
Myra didn’t hear him. She was deeply engrossed in the memories.
Dion noticed and called her name again, "Myra~ .... Myra~ ...." When she still didn’t reply, he reached for her arm. The moment his fingers brushed against her skin, she jolted away from him. In the process, she had slapped his hand too.
Dion’s eyes trembled, his hand halted midway. He didn’t expect her to react so strongly. It felt like someone was squeezing his heart.
Myra snapped out of it and realized what she had done. "Dion, I~ .... I am so sorry. I didn’t mean to~ ...." she said instantly.
"It’s okay. I understand," Though Dion said this, pain was written all over his face. He was clearly hurt. After that, neither of them spoke as they soon reached the Larson manor.
The car halted just a few meters away from the main gate.
"Wait, I will get the door for you." Saying this, Dion walked out. Myra remained seated. Through the glass, she looked at the gigantic mansion. This was the first time she had come here. The servants were pacing around, probably busy preparing for Fabian’s funeral.
A few other people were going inside the mansion. They weren’t in normal servant uniforms, nor were they wearing ordinary clothes. In fact, they wore long black capes with gold embroidery, their faces concealed by the hoods. From behind, they looked like grim reapers. Looking at their backs, Myra felt a sharp uneasiness. Then a thought struck her.
Dion looked at them and gnashed his teeth. ’Tskkk~ .... why the hell do they have to be here now? What bad timing.’ He waited until Catherine, Brian, Silvia and Vinicio stepped inside; only then did he walk to the other side and open the door for her.
He reached out his hand, but Myra didn’t take it. Instead, she met his gaze and asked; her next words left him speechless: "Dion, why is Fabian’s funeral being held at Chairman Larson’s place? Fabian’s parents had already passed away when he was five. His grandfather is his only family. Does Mr. Stephens senior know about Fabian’s death?"
Dion stared at her a little longer. ’So, Fabian had told her about his parents’ death~,’ Drey remarked with a frown. Then added, ’~but hadn’t told her that Jacob is his grandfather. Why?’
Licking his lips, he mumbled his reply, "His grandfather already knows. He is inside."
Myra nodded, then posed another question, "Who were those people who just went inside? Why were they dressed like that?"
Dion sucked in a sharp breath, then replied, "They~ .... they are the elder mourners. You know how old people are. They are way too traditional with their dressing and all."
Myra wasn’t convinced, but she didn’t ask further questions. She took his hand and stepped out. Dion gripped her hand firmly as they walked inside.
As soon as they stepped inside the mansion, Chris appeared out of nowhere. "Young Alpha Dion, where were you? The funeral is about to start," he inquired. Then his eyes shifted to the person beside Dion and gleamed, but he concealed the look in a flash. "Ms. Miracle."
"Secretary Shadow," Myra mumbled. "Can you take me to where Fabian’s grandfather is?"
"Prof. Stephens’ grandfather?" Chris repeated. He then looked at Dion, whose expression remained tight. But before he could say more, a voice interrupted them, "Myra~ ...."
The three of them turned their heads towards the source as Jacob walked in their direction. He was wearing an all-black suit; an ivory carnation was tucked into his suit pocket.
"Your maj~ .... master," Chris said, not expecting Jacob to appear. Since waking up, he hadn’t left Fabian’s side for even a second.
Jacob kept his eyes on Myra and spoke, "You wanted to see me."
Myra’s brows knitted in confusion. "I was~ ..." she started, but Jacob cut her off.
"Fabian was my grandson," he revealed, his voice shaky.
Myra was stunned. She blinked and couldn’t register his words. "How can you~ .... You are~ .... This can’t be~ ... You don’t look~ ...."
Jacob let out a sigh. He knew why she was so perplexed. Anyone would be. "Ms. Miracle~ .... no, Myra," calling her name, he took her hand. "Fabian has told me a lot about you. You were very dear to him. I am glad~ ... you could come and attend his final proceedings. He could finally rest in peace with all his loved ones present."
Myra felt the tremor in his voice, and the quivering of his hand and her own body trembled as she tried not to cry in front of them. But the way he said Fabian’s name with so much familiarity, she could tell Jacob was telling the truth. He really was Fabian’s real grandfather.
