I, Hydra, chapter 7.

On the other side, holding the arm of his son Quintus, Callisto chose to come to this gods forbidden realm, the territory of Hydra, the city-state of Sparta, to escape the persecution of the goddess Hera.

Volume I: Text-10 Callisto and Quintus

Looking at the young woman in front of him, Hydra stroked her chin indifferently.

"You... are Zeus' woman?"

Hearing Hydra's words, Callisto nodded.

"I am the virgin goddess of hunting, the moon, the wilderness, the forest, beasts, midwifery, bounty, conception, bow and arrow, one of Artemis's nymph maidens, and I thirst for nothing but for the great and merciful Lord Hydra to take in my child, Quintus."

Hearing Callisto's words, Hydra didn't comment, instead closing her eyes and thinking. Seeing Hydra's silence, Callisto didn't dare to say anything, when he silently knelt on the ground, not even raising his head.

There was one thing different about Callisto among the mythology, she was not like her other ninfolk maids, who spent their days wandering by the streams and strolling through the gardens, reciting poetry and dancing softly. She always wore a powerful hunting outfit, with a bow on her shoulder and a spear of gold, and followed Artemis in her brave pursuit of the beasts in the high mountain forests. The tiger's roar could not frighten her, and the fox's cunning could not escape her skill. She became Artemis's most capable and trusted assistant.

One hot summer day, Callisto chased the beast into a forest clearing. Hot and tired, she lay down in the shade and soon fell into a deep sleep.

Zeus, the almighty, was watching her. Although Zeus is the king of the gods, but its wanderlust can be said to be known all over the world, whether it is a goddess or mortal woman, Zeus has never let go.

The first thing you need to know is that you can't be sure that you're going to be able to get the best out of your shoes.

Seeing this scene, Zeus was very annoyed, but soon, Zeus had a plan, he became Artemis and found Callisto again, Callisto was so happy to see Artemis, then Zeus suddenly took Callisto into his arms, Callisto was puzzled and wondered how Artemis could be like this? But Callisto didn't think much of it, not realizing that Zeus was increasingly misbehaving, Callisto finally sensed something was wrong and tried to break free of Zeus. Zeus saw that he couldn't hide it anymore and showed himself at once. Poor Callisto was not prepared for this, she tried her best to resist, but to no avail. Zeus is, after all, omnipotent, and Callisto, despite her ability to subdue dragons and tigers, was still unable to escape Zeus' clutches.

Zeus proudly returned to the heavenly palace!

He was the ruler of the universe, so naturally there would be no punishment or retribution for him. The unfortunate one could only be the innocent Callisto, who wiped away her tears and silently returned to everyone's side. No matter how much pain she felt inside, she couldn't talk about it and had to force a smile in front of everyone. However, the old Callisto could no longer be seen. She always looked down at the ground in shame; the smile on her face disappeared, and she often sat away from everyone in silence; when hunting, she had even less courage and spirit, and watched her prey slip away from under her nose.

To make matters worse, she discovered that she was pregnant. No matter how much she tried to hide it, one day, finally, everyone still knew the secret. Artemis, who had no idea what was going on, was furious, and even though Callisto was her favorite elf, she couldn't contain her anger and drove her away from the hunting ground.

With no one to rely on, Callisto made her home in a thatched hut deep in the forest, never to see her sisters laughing or hear the goddess's call again. Shortly afterwards she gave birth to a boy, and it became somewhat of a sustenance in her life.

Zeus, the king of the gods, would not be punished, but when Hera learned of this she was furious and came to the woodland where Callisto was perched, and on seeing her she cursed her, ignoring Callisto's pleas, tearing at her hair and slamming her to the ground, saying fiercely, "I will destroy You are so beautiful that you can't tempt anyone anymore!"

Just as Hera was about to turn Callisto into a black bear, Hydra awoke.

It was because of Hydra's awakening that Zeus urgently convened a meeting of the gods. It was because of this that Hera had to be forcibly transported to the sacred mountain of Olympus.

But even so, in the process of Hera's forced teleportation still viciously said: "I will make your fair arms grow long and thick black hairs, your delicate fingers become sharp claws, and those delicate red lips, turn into a mouth of blood. The sound of your prayers will not be heard by Zeus, and I will deprive you of the ability to speak, and turn your silvery voice into a dull roar. I'm going to turn you into a black bear. I will leave you with nothing but unceasing wailing and lamenting your miserable fate! You heroic hunter will become the beast that the hunters chase, and spend your days hiding around in the deep woods, never to have peace again!!!"

As he said that, Hera was hastily recalled to Olympus Sanctus.

Had it not been for Hera's awakening, by now Callisto would have been turned into a black bear, then as the legend goes.

Fifteen years passed, fifteen years later Hera according to the myth would stumble upon Callisto's son, he saw his enemy's son was so handsome and dashing, more than ten years ago the evil anger could not help but come to her heart, a poisonous plan was born in her heart.

One day, Callisto's son, lance in hand, was looking for prey in the forest. Suddenly, a large bear slowly approached him. This bear was Callisto. She recognized the brave hunter in front of her as the son she had longed for for fifteen years, and she ran forward excitedly to embrace her baby.

And how could his child have imagined that the big bear in front of him was his mother, whom he had lost for fifteen years? Seeing such a big bear coming at him, he flinched backwards in excitement, raised his spear, and stabbed the bear with all his might.

Zeus, who was patrolling in the sky, saw the scene and could not bear to see his son kill his mother. So he cast a little magic, and turned the boy into a bear. In this way, the boy recognized his mother immediately. He ran up to her and snuggled into her arms, and mother and son were reunited happily

A happy reunion?

The thought of it made Hydra want to laugh.

Opening his eyes that turned dark red, Hydra looked directly at the mother and son in front of him, the young Quintus didn't know what he was dealing with yet, instead the mere year old Quintus giggled and reached out to Hydra.

It was a robust baby, Zeus was spiteful scum, but the blood of the gods was strong.

"I could have taken in your child and you, now you should know better than anyone the vile nature of the gods, Artemis of your faith abandoned you without question, Zeus merely used you as a plaything. Hera, on the other hand, took out her anger against Zeus on you. Is this all your fault? The answer is no..."

As she said that, Hydra stood up and picked up the tender Quintus. Although only a year old, Quintus could already walk upright, relying on the divinity within him.

"Your son is strong, and you are a good mother who did not take out your anger on this little one because of the sudden doom and gloom. You are a strong woman, a powerful woman. And now, seeing the gods for what they really are, you should be more aware of the vile theocracy. Sparta welcomes the strong, the strong man. Sparta welcomes you. Callisto, from now on, you will be one of Sparta, and you will not speak of believing in Artemis, the goddess of the hunt, you will believe in me. Your child will become the greatest warrior of all and then take your place as Hera takes vengeance on the herd!"

As she did, Hydra lifted the younger Quintus aloft.

"Devour the Swarm! You will be the serpent of the Aegean Sea!!!"

........

Callisto is the original being of Greek mythology, and Quintus is a fictionalized version of the God of War series of games, but in the background Quintus's mother is also Callisto. And Quintus's father also happens to be Zeus.

It just so happens that Quintus's title is Spartan Dead, so it was used to mess with it.

In addition, the very next characters such as Hercules, Acalante, and Charon will adopt the type moon setting.

In short, there will be a lot of messing around in the future in addition to originality.

Time flew by quickly, and six years had passed in the blink of an eye.

The original Quintus also grew from a child into a teenager, its body strong muscles even compared to the Spartan warriors are not terrified.

Sparta was in awe of the strong, so Quintus soon reached the recognition of the Spartans, and for a Spartan woman to have a strong and healthy child was something worthy of a lifetime of glory.

"Faster, higher, stronger! Is that what you're after next, Quintus,"

As he spoke, Callisto relentlessly stroked Quintus' head, and beside him stood two guards, looking straight ahead, carrying six throwing spears behind their backs and leaning on a lance and a round shield in their hands. They were one of the most elite armies in all of Greece, the Spartan Praetorian Guard.

Each child could have a final warmth with their parents as a farewell before they left, for the time afterwards they would be trained with a true earnestness.

The young Quintus had a head of hair and a handsome face full of determination.

"Don't worry, mother. I will be the strongest warrior in all of Greece!"

Hearing Quintus' words, Callisto nodded sympathetically.

"Just to be able to live well is enough, my son."

As he said that, Callisto gently kissed Quintus on the forehead, nodding to the two Praetorians beside him.

Receiving Callisto's meaning, the two Praetorians walked up to Quintus without saying a word.

Nodding, Quintus stood up without saying a word and followed the two Praetorians out of the house.

He knew what he was about to face, and as a child who had grown up in Sparta, Quintus knew better than anyone the weakness of Sparta.

The streets outside the car, when passers-by saw the two guards in front of Quintus is in the eyes of the obvious admiration.

Now Sparta was no longer the culturally backward Sparta, run by Hydra, Sparta had abandoned the vile custom of trying to give babies to the elders for approval, and had instead become a place where different positions were chosen based on their talents. Such as casting and cultural heritage.

Hydra gathered all the beasts in the Peloponnese and domesticated the unintelligent plus. With the assistance of the beasts, the city-state of Sparta was experiencing a period of rapid growth. The three-story buildings were incredibly simple with the help of the beasts, and it was because of the long period of living with the beasts that the young children of Sparta were blessed with blessings like wild affinity.

In the new Spartan city-state, people worshipped the strong, such as the Spartan Praetorian Guard. It was the most elite army in all of Sparta, and its number remained around three hundred all year round.
