Me, Hydra

I, Hydra, chapter 17.

One of his major points was that he knew that he was ignorant. While many sons of the rich and the poor often gathered around him and asked him for advice, Socrates often said, "I only know that I am ignorant." He prided himself on his ignorance and believed that everyone should acknowledge their ignorance.

Socrates lived a hard life. He wore an ordinary single garment in both cold and heat, often wore no shoes, and was not particular about food. But he didn't seem to notice any of this and just concentrated on his studies. The examples of his life and the ideas of his achievements are recorded by his disciples.

In short, he was the ancient Greek Confucius, one of the three Greek philosophers, and the other two of the three Greek philosophers were Plato and Aristotle.

"I didn't expect that Thor could actually get together with Socrates...Surely Nature grams pride..."

Being able to drink Socrates to get a piece of it was definitely a good thing for an arrogant nature like Thor's.

Shaking her head, Hydra clapped her hands and the temple's Praetorian Guard walked in.

"Bring these two here."

"As you command, Great God."

As he said that, the Praetorian Guard turned and left the temple.

A moment later, Thor and Socrates arrived at this great temple.

"You are the god-king here? That's nice to look at. But I don't think you're any stronger than my father!"

Tor's tone when he came up was a clip-clop, but Hydra didn't care about Tor's fire, instead looking to Socrates beside her.

"You're Athenian, I suppose? What's the reason for coming here?"

"To be able to understand the more vast knowledge!"

Socrates' words were swift and resolute, and without hesitation.

Nodding, Hydra didn't pursue the question.

"Yes, you may. Take my token, from now on you are the keeper of the Great Library of Sparta, you can even sleep and settle in there. You can also explain knowledge to others in the library. But one thing, you can't take the library books out. How?"

"Begone!!!"

Socrates looked very excited, seeing the situation, Hydra nodded, then said: "You first wait outside for a while, I have something to say to Thor."

Upon hearing this, Socrates flew over to Thor with a look of "mind your words", and after seeing that Thor did not care, he sighed and bowed and pushed him out of the great temple.

Looking at the untamed Thor before him, Hydra was not angry, but said, "Do you want to know what your father calls twilight?"

Volume 1: Text-23 - The Battle of Mirotaunos

My name is Miro Taunos, and I am a Minotaur.

Originally I lived on the sea, guarding the Great Labyrinth, and it was a boring time. There was basically nothing to play with other than the twenty men and women that were sent to me every year.

Until now, when Hydra approached me and invited me to become one of the Spartans.

As I thought about it, Mirotaunos snorted. Wiping the snot from his nose, Mirotainos stretched his lazy back.

"Don't be lazy, hurry up and move the bricks~ Or there won't be any fragrant barley wine tonight~"

"Aang, got it~~~"

Barley wine is good stuff, amber ones are made from wheat, and a glass of barley wine is better for the stomach than a bowl of rice.

Although nowadays he usually did some hard labor for the residents of Spartan City State, no one here hated him. And every time they saw themselves, they would greet each other with a friendly greeting.

"By the way... that cow at Old King's house is really beautiful, I must buy it when I save enough money..."

As he thought about it, Mirotonos picked up a large stone pillar for two and walked towards the Spartan bathhouse under construction. It was said that this large bathhouse could accommodate five thousand people at one time. Unfortunately, the men's and women's bathhouses were separate, and cows were not allowed to enter, so the beautiful cows were only waiting for them to save enough money to realize it themselves....

Mirotaunos's was also a member of the Spartan Gladiatorial Arena in addition to doing some hard labor, ranking around the top ten in the Beast category, of course, this was because of the fact that exotic beasts like Medusa whose abilities were too strange were forbidden to participate in gladiatorial battles.

That big labyrinth of his own evidence said to have been moved to the lower second floor of the Great Library, and now that I think about it, that big labyrinth was a bit of a loss when it was sold to Hydra for over a hundred silver coins....

But it didn't matter, and with a snort, Mirotaunos continued to join the construction of the Spartan Bathhouse.

Saving up five thousand silver coins earlier would allow him to enjoy the beautiful days of lying in the pasture surrounded by a herd of cows, and for this great goal, Mirotaunos had put in plenty of sweat.

As he was thinking about it, suddenly a herald from the gladiatorial arena came running over.

"Mirotaunos, are you free now? There's a new guy trying to challenge you!"

"Challenge me? What about the ones ranked below me?"

Mirotaunos was confused, knowing that his ranking wasn't that low anymore, it shouldn't be this fast if he wanted to challenge himself directly....

Shaking his head, the orderly spoke helplessly.

"I'm also helpless, the other beasts are either resting or helping build the Great Shrine today. As you know, the people on duty building the Great Shrine can't just skip work for no reason. By the way, you'll be given five hundred silver coins as compensation for your time playing this hand."

Hearing the words of the orderly, Mirotaunos' eyes lit up, five hundred silver coins was a huge payment, saving it would get you through most of the year.

"Right now?"

"Grace!"

On hearing this, Mirotaunos picked up the orderly beside him and ran to the arena.

And the orderly beside him was used to it, Mirotaunos's three meter height wouldn't fall on himself....

On the other hand, Thor walked into the Great Gladiatorial Arena as Socrates looked on helplessly.

"Have you offended Lord Hydra? Why else would you have been reduced to slavery? Either you admit your mistake, or maybe Lord Hydra will let you go."

Hearing Socrates' words, Tor shook his head, the memory of Hydra's words about the scene at the twilight of the gods even more so causing Tor to clench the crown of his teeth.

"I asked for it myself, Socrates. No need to defend me any further, I became a slave of my own free will."

"Why? You clearly didn't have to!"

Shaking his head, Thor curtsied.

"My homeland is about to face an inevitable disaster, and becoming a slave to gain forty wins or outright victory over the top ten ranked monsters is the swiftest way to become a member of Sparta. I can't wait any longer!"

At the news, Socrates sighed in frustration. Tor's love for his homeland Socrates had come to understand after these few days together. And Tor's nature was a stubborn donkey, and a match would never change.

"Then...cheer up! Must win!"

Hearing Socrates' encouragement, Thor smiled.

"Of course! That's an Asgardian standing in front of you!"

As he did, Thor picked up the rough round shield and the iron sword that had been blunted from the side of the weapon rack.
