Middle-aged Adventurer Kein’s Good Deed

172. Kane, get a new request.

When the Kanes come to the Adventurers Guild, they get stuffed by a young receptionist, Pushke.

"Mr. Kane, I'm persuading Senior Elena to return to the Adventurer Guild!

"Yeah?"

"Mr. Elena quit or something. No, we're losing our job!

"Really? That's a big deal."

But even if they say so, Kane gets in trouble, too.

Elena says with a frightened face.

"Why, you wrote a proper handover to Pushke."

"You're telling me to take over and do all this work for us! I can't, I can't!

The succession books that Pushke keeps on the reception desk are like mountains.

"That's how much you can do."

Pushke sighs that this is who can do his job.

"I can't do it. We've only been in here a year. This is not just the receptionist. Everyone's in trouble with the office."

Elena, a veteran receptionist, was also an adjunct to Guildmaster Georg.

No, instead of Georg, who can't do anything administrative work with an adjunct or a brain muscle, he even did all the non-negotiable and detailed checks on accounting.

I mean, it was essentially Elena who was cutting this guild up.

Without that Elena, it wouldn't even go around work.

"I don't care if you like putting Senior Elena in Mr. Kane's side room, so he wants it back anyway. Look, if it's Mr. Kane's orders, why don't you listen to Senior Elena?"

"Eh, even if they say so"

"Uh, if it's anything anymore, we can be Mr. Kane's sideroom. I'm interested in balls and stuff, so let's do it!

When Pushke crosses the counter, teases Kane and says so, screams from fan adventurers.

A popular Pushke is the number two receptionist who looks like this.

If Elena is retiring, it will also mean popular number one.

Make it a rookie (Rookie) and it's already ace style.

"Pushke!"

"I'm kidding, seniors. More or less, Mr. Kane, aren't you the kind of guy who makes a bunch of side rooms?"

Kane nods when he thinks he is.

Even if Pushke jokingly presses me, it's enough to pull my back a little.

"But the seniors are seriously after you, aren't they, balls?"

"That's not true!

"I don't know if you're a housekeeper or a maid, Mr. Kane, but you're still in the house."

"That's because I'm Nowa's mother's replacement, and I want to make it right for you"

"Here! Isn't it completely in the mode of dropping it from my daughter? You should be careful, Mr. Kane. The guild has been taken over at this rate, and at some point, without Senior Elena, the job won't be able to turn around, so we'll talk about suddenly disappearing from there and crushing the guild, or whatever exile protagonist it is."

"That's not true!

"That's true. It's not a joke, it's not a joke, it's a fact that you don't get around to work without a senior. If you haven't banished him, why can't we just leave him alone? Don't just quit your job with a bee."

Pushke leads to Elena with a potentially grounded momentum.

"I don't care if they say that..."

Elena also gets in trouble for this.

"In general, I suddenly have trouble leaving the office or something. I'm a maiden for my senior year, Elena, so I thought the clerical kids would be relieved that I'm gonna be late for my next Gilmouth."

"Ha!? Not just you, but the clerical kids?

When Gillo and Elena looked at the clerk's office, the clerk's girls, who were glancing at what would happen, hid their faces humbly.

"Ah."

When his mouth slips, Pushke holds his hand by his mouth.

"Pushke and the rest of the clerk's kids, they need to talk to me later. I'm sorry, Mr. Kane, but get involved in some weird stuff."

"No, no, that's fine"

Pushke has a unique affection, or it's creepy to hear about carrying it with a pom pom.

That's the popular receptionist, I think, Kane.

"This way, I'm going to tell you a little story (...), so, uh, Mr. Kane was glad to be working on herb collection again this time"

"No, I'm not today."

"What!?

Elena is also surprised by this.

It is important that Kane, the herb hunter, does not collect herbs.

The neighborhood is on the wrong level.

"What a change of heart!

Pushke listens to everyone on behalf of him.

"No, I've been having too much fun lately, and I thought I'd make trouble around here. So, I'm going to do a sewage cleaning job. You haven't done it yet this year."

Kane brings an old requisition where some paper is starting to yellow.

Recently, thanks to the little goblins on Mount Cuco gone, Kane has been forced to supply herbs without having to go.

Then I thought I'd do a sewage cleaning job that nobody would do for a long time.

"Oh, you did leave that request unattended the whole time. It's a job that doesn't have a lot of people to take on, so it's very helpful as a guild, are you sure?"

"Of course, sir."

There are no novice adventurers this year, so I was just accumulating with no requests.

However, as long as the dob in the sewage is tight and dirty, I don't think it is easy for Elena because she can't offer much reward.

"Mm-hmm. But I thought it might be hard on your own. I don't know how many days it will take to clean the city's sewage."

There came Abel, the leader of the A-rank party, The Meteor Chasers, from among the adventurers who were listening around.

"All right! If Mr. Kane does it, let's do it too!

Besides, Xara, a party member, is a bit of a bandit.

"No, I don't want to clean the sewage. It stinks!

Kurtz, the glasses magician, also protests.

"That's right! Neither is Mr. Kane, but sewage cleaning is not the kind of job a high-ranking adventurer would do!

"Such a stinky, dirty, annoying job, because I would never do it."

"I'm honest, too, because hard work is out of jurisdiction."

I am sick and tired of being pushed by the weird Abel momentum and followed by the dob of the sewer.

"No, Mr. Kane will do it. It could be an important training as a swordsman."

That's absolutely not true.

The job of shoveling out mud that builds up in sewage is the bottom-line request that beginner adventurers who can't yet go on an adventure outside do.

"No, it's not training or anything. There's a lot to do alone, so I was wondering if it would help."

Kane is also going to do a useful job for the city for the downfall, so he may not even be able to say training in a way.

"All right, it's settled! You guys don't have to do this. Just me and Mr. Kane!

Abel shrugs her shoulders, saying she can't help it because she's so strong to say it.

"So can I have two shovels for sewage cleaning?"

With that said, as Elena begins to give Kane and Abel the shovel, so do the Princesses Anna.

Because of the monster exorcism, the S-rank party, The Rose Maidens Blooming at Heights, had also been asked to keep their guild through.

"That's funny, we're coming too!

"Princess Anna Akan, we have a job to do to defeat the monsters that stand in the way of the trade path of the Kingdom of Kane."

Even as a Maya, I'm not willing to hang out with a sewage dove even though I'm busy with a lot of things.

Besides, no matter what you think, you can predict it's a fall that will destroy the sewer as Princess Anna tries to force the sewer hedron all at once.

Don't take it, while Maya and Princess Anna are arguing, Sephilia gently pulls Kane's sleeve.

"Dear Kane, lend me that shovel."

When Kane gives it to me like I was told, Sephilia polishes up the flat blade of a shovel for sewage cleaning with a beautiful cloth and prays for something.

Then the shovel sparkled.

Apparently, Sephilia did a good job of bluffing.

"Thank you, Sephilia. And, Mr. Anastrea. It's important to get rid of monsters."

Maya is in trouble, so Kane can say the same thing and deceive Princess Anna.

"Er, no!

"Look, go. We have a pile of work in our house!

Slipping, Maya dragged me and Princess Anna left the guild behind.

"Come on. Shall we? Now it's time to beat Mr. Kane!

I don't think we can beat sewage cleaning.

Along with Abel, who stands alone, Kane made his way to clean the sewer.
