Chapter 519: The Blazing Three-Headed Beast

The account on the map was surprisingly brief.

Even so, Marcus could only imagine how spectacular a battle between beings of that caliber must have been. Just reading the summary left him with a faint sense of regret. If only he could have witnessed that clash with his own eyes.

According to Silas’s notes, after fighting the Sea Goddess for nearly twenty minutes, the Blazing Three-Headed Beast finally realized it had met an opponent it couldn’t defeat.

Despite its savage appearance, it possessed remarkable intelligence.

With a deafening roar, all three of its heads attacked simultaneously. Violet Celestial Fire, black Demonic Fire, and crimson Mortal Fire fused together into a colossal dragon-shaped inferno that surged across the battlefield, forcing everyone to retreat.

The moment it created an opening, the beast turned and fled straight for the volcano.

"No!"

"It’s getting away!"

The Sea Goddess immediately urged the East Sea Azure Dragon into pursuit, accompanied by her elite warriors. After witnessing the creature’s bloodlust and the slaughter it had unleashed, she had already made her decision.

No matter the cost, the Blazing Three-Headed Beast had to die.

Unfortunately, deciding something and accomplishing it were two very different things. A Super Divine Beast wasn’t simply powerful; it was astonishingly fast.

Even mounted on the East Sea Azure Dragon, the Sea Goddess couldn’t close the distance before the beast reached the volcano. All she could do was watch as it tore through layers of blazing rock, disappearing into the maze of molten tunnels hidden deep beneath the mountain.

Her expression darkened. Leaving it alive wasn’t an option. If she departed and the beast emerged again, Twin Wing Island would never know peace. Worse still, if it ever abandoned the archipelago and reached one of the mainland cities, the devastation would be beyond imagination.

Silas’s notes explained that the Sea Goddess had only learned of the beast’s awakening because Cloud-Mist Palace possessed a divine treasure known as the Emerald Sea Mirror. The artifact allowed her to detect major disturbances across the eastern seas, enabling her to rush to Dragon’s Roar Isle with her strongest subordinates before the situation became even worse.

But now the battlefield had changed. The volcanic tunnels were the Blazing Three-Headed Beast’s territory.

There, surrounded by endless magma and scorching heat, the creature’s strength would increase even further, while the Sea Goddess, whose power centered around the water element, would be placed at a significant disadvantage. The tunnels themselves twisted beneath the volcano like a labyrinth, making it difficult enough to locate the beast, let alone corner it.

Even if they managed to find it, there was no guarantee they could win. The beast understood that as well.

As long as it sensed the Sea Goddess waiting outside, it could simply remain hidden inside the volcano indefinitely. There was no reliable way to force it back into the open.

To make matters worse, the Goddess of Dreams had already issued an urgent summons. The Sea Goddess was needed elsewhere, and she couldn’t remain at Dragon’s Roar Isle forever.

After weighing every option, she devised another solution: she summoned ten Drum-Frogs.

According to Silas, Drum-Frogs were one of the strangest creatures found in the deep sea. Their booming croaks echoed like enormous war drums, and each adult could swallow an astonishing twenty thousand tons of seawater in only five to ten minutes.

Even more unbelievable, carrying that unimaginable volume of water had almost no effect on their size or mobility, though such an incredible ability came with severe limitations.

Once a Drum-Frog filled itself with seawater, it had to expel everything within two minutes or its body would rupture under the pressure. It also couldn’t remain more than two hundred meters away from seawater for longer than thirty minutes, otherwise it would rapidly dehydrate and suffocate.

The Sea Goddess ordered the Drum-Frogs to drink until they were completely full before having flying mounts carry them high above the volcano.

At her command, all ten creatures released their stored seawater at once. A raging torrent crashed down from the sky, its sheer force resembling a flash flood pouring directly into the volcano, powerful enough to stagger even a Divine Beast.

But the Sea Goddess wasn’t finished. As the immense waterfall descended, she scattered into it a finely ground powder made from Glacial Ice Crystal, a Mythic-grade treasure she had once collected from the frozen rivers of the distant Far North.

Glacial Ice Crystal resembled flawless blue ice, but its true power appeared only when it came into contact with water.

The reaction was instantaneous: a single fragment could freeze ten thousand tons of seawater into solid ice at nearly one hundred degrees below zero, creating ice so unnaturally cold that it would never melt, even beneath the ocean.

The moment the crystal powder mixed with the cascading flood, the torrent solidified into enormous masses of ice, and the Sea Goddess followed with a powerful sealing technique.

Countless frozen blocks crashed into the volcano one after another like an endless avalanche, burying every entrance and filling the beast’s underground lair.

In total, she used thirteen Glacial Ice Crystals to completely seal the entire volcano. Even then, she still wasn’t satisfied. Hovering high above the mountain, she began chanting another incantation.

Moments later, she summoned yet another divine treasure she had obtained from the frozen rivers of the north: the Glacial Ice Sword. Its pristine white blade resembled flawless jade, wrapped in drifting frost and pale mist.

Without the slightest hesitation, the Sea Goddess hurled the Divine Artifact directly into the mountain of enchanted ice, strengthening the seal around the Blazing Three-Headed Beast even further.

When time permitted, she intended to return and deal with the creature permanently, but the sword disappeared beneath the frozen prison without a trace.

At first... nothing happened.

Then Marcus reached the next paragraph.

As expected of a Divine Artifact, the Glacial Ice Sword had been tempered for over ten thousand years within the frozen rivers of Glacial Valley, making it an extraordinary treasure even among Divine Artifacts.

Less than three minutes after it was embedded within the volcano, the entire mountain began glowing with a soft white radiance.

The already frigid summit grew even colder, and the surrounding environment began changing before everyone’s eyes.

Clouds from every corner of Dragon’s Roar Isle drifted toward the mountain, while vast amounts of water-element energy gathered from the surrounding sea, condensing into dense white storm clouds above the peak.

Only five minutes later, something impossible occurred: in the middle of a tropical archipelago, snow began to fall.

Within a remarkably short time, Dragon’s Roar Isle’s volcanic summit transformed into a frozen world of white, and the snowfall never stopped.

The Sea Goddess never had the opportunity to return; she never came back to slay the Blazing Three-Headed Beast, nor did she retrieve the Glacial Ice Sword buried within the volcano.

As the centuries passed, the sword continued radiating its incredible power, leaving Dragon’s Roar Isle with a permanently snow-covered peak that rose above tropical beaches and lush rainforests. Visitors could spend the morning skiing down frozen slopes before sailing to a neighboring island to swim beneath warm sunshine.

"What an incredible world..." Marcus couldn’t help murmuring in admiration.

If something on this scale had happened only a thousand years ago, then what must the Dreamland Continent have looked like three thousand years earlier, before the war between the Goddess of Dreams and the Demon Lord?

How magnificent had that forgotten age been? The thought stirred a strange longing inside him.

’If only I could see it for myself.’

He clasped his hands together with exaggerated sincerity and looked toward the sky.

"Please," he said dramatically, "let me and my girls travel back in time just once."

Nothing happened. Marcus sighed in mock disappointment. ’So much for miracles.’

Chuckling to himself, he looked down at the violet-red spear wrapped around his arm.

If the Sea Goddess possessed power like that, then the force sealed inside this weapon was surely no less extraordinary; he couldn’t wait to discover what it was truly capable of.

Silas’s account continued. Although the Goddess of Dreams’ summons was urgent, the Sea Goddess couldn’t simply leave Dragon’s Roar Isle immediately after the battle.

The survivors had lost family members, friends, and comrades. Fear and grief hung over the island, and many believed another disaster was only a matter of time.

Before departing, she personally established a powerful protective formation around Dragon’s Roar Isle to guard its people against future threats, especially the countless dangerous sea monsters that still inhabited the surrounding waters.

She also remained long enough to preside over the weddings of twelve couples whose ceremonies had been interrupted by the catastrophe.

Her presence brought comfort to the grieving islanders, and for the first time since the battle, smiles began to return.

Only after seeing hope restored did she mount the East Sea Azure Dragon once more and leave with her companions.

Marcus smiled as he read that part. Despite everything that had happened, she had still chosen to stay long enough to honor those couples.

Somehow, that small gesture made the legendary Sea Goddess feel far more human.

Twin Wing Island had always been famous as a destination for lovers. The two central islands resembled a pair of lovebirds spreading their wings, while flocks of real lovebirds nested throughout the archipelago year-round. Because of that, many people affectionately referred to it as Lovers’ Island.

Normally, more than twenty weddings would have taken place that day, but after the disaster, only twelve couples still chose to exchange their vows.

Those twelve weddings, witnessed and personally officiated by the Sea Goddess herself, became legends.

News of the volcanic eruption, the battle against the Blazing Three-Headed Beast, the Sea Goddess’s intervention, and the miraculous weddings spread throughout the Dreamland Continent.

Rather than diminishing Twin Wing Island’s reputation, the tragedy made it even more famous. Having the Sea Goddess personally bless those marriages transformed the island into a symbol of romance, devotion, and lasting love. Before long, countless couples began traveling there in hopes of receiving the same blessing on their own wedding day.

In response to the growing number of visitors, the Dragon Dynasty constructed the Twin Wing Temple.

Dedicated to both the Goddess of Dreams and the Sea Goddess, the temple served as a sacred place where couples from across the continent could hold their wedding ceremonies.

By all accounts, Twin Wing Island should have continued growing into the greatest tourist destination in the entire Dreamland Continent.

But history had other plans. Five hundred years after the Blazing Three-Headed Beast was sealed away, roughly one thousand years before the present day, another catastrophe struck.

Without warning, vast impassable chasms appeared around the archipelago, and the surrounding seas became overrun with terrifying monster territories that no ordinary fleet could hope to cross.

The paradise that had once welcomed visitors from every corner of the world became an unreachable forbidden sea.

As the centuries passed, no one could return. Eventually, humanity forgot Twin Wing Island had ever existed at all.
