Chapter 444 - 441: Father-Daughter Reunion (2)
The Supreme Leader has a DNA test done every time one of his children is born.
Even if he knows the child couldn’t possibly belong to someone else, the Supreme Leader of Valeria has this habit.
A large team was dispatched and arrived at the location.
They had long since attracted the media’s attention.
Reporters jumped on the bandwagon, all wanting to know what kind of incident had befallen the Ainsworth Family to warrant a DNA test here.
The main gates were tightly shut.
The primary tests were between Mr. Ainsworth and Sierra Ainsworth, Mr. Ainsworth and Nora Ainsworth, and Mr. Ainsworth and Catherine Callahan. Additionally, tests were run for Sierra Ainsworth and Claire Sinclair, Nora Ainsworth and Claire Sinclair, and Claire Sinclair and Catherine Callahan.
The process would be very time-consuming.
Claire Sinclair refused to be tested at all costs, so a sample was taken by force.
After the sample was collected, she collapsed on the floor as if from exhaustion, lying motionless, looking no different from someone on the verge of death.
Luna Ainsworth looked at her, then at Nora Ainsworth and Sierra Ainsworth’s reactions, and a premonition grew in his heart.
He was filled with unease. He thought about many things, and all the events replayed slowly in his mind’s eye like scenes in a film.
As he thought back, certain things that didn’t add up began to reveal themselves like subtle clues.
His heart trembled. ’If it’s true...’
He thought, ’For what I’ve done in this life, death would be too good for me.’
The wait for the results was excruciating.
It was so agonizing it felt like being tortured with every passing moment.
Finally, a few technicians came out, holding reports in their hands.
Nora Ainsworth and the others stood up.
The technician glanced at the report, looked directly at Luna Ainsworth, and said, "Mr. Ainsworth, based on the analysis of the various samples collected, we have a consistent result. Sierra Ainsworth is your daughter, and Nora Ainsworth is also your daughter. Catherine Callahan is not your daughter."
Luna Ainsworth pointed at Claire Sinclair. "And her?"
"She is definitively not the mother of Nora Ainsworth and Sierra Ainsworth. She is, however, the mother of Catherine Callahan."
This report completely shattered Luna Ainsworth’s heart.
He took the results, staggered back a step, and fell to the ground.
The feeling of being utterly devastated and crestfallen was so painful his heart ached to the point he could barely breathe.
The woman he had cherished all this time had been secretly switched long ago.
His own daughter was treated so poorly, and he didn’t even know.
He was guilty.
His sins were not light.
Sierra Ainsworth looked down and helped him up. "Dad, right now, your two grandsons have been taken somewhere by Claire Sinclair. We don’t know if Mom is alive or dead. If you want to atone, you need to find out if they’re still safe and rescue them."
Mr. Ainsworth nodded, got to his feet, and looked at Nora Ainsworth, tears streaming down his face. "I’m so sorry. A moment ago, Dad didn’t believe you..."
Nora Ainsworth’s expression was calm. Although she was moved, she didn’t let it show. "This isn’t the time for that. First, we need to ask this woman where my sons are, and whether my mom... is alive... or dead."
Luna Ainsworth straightened up, nodded, and turned to look at Claire Sinclair on the floor.
This woman he had lived with for so long was the true culprit who had torn their family apart.
"Don’t make a scene here. Take them back for interrogation."
Claire Sinclair and Catherine Callahan were taken back to the Ainsworth estate together.
They were thrown into the living room, their hands and feet bound, unable to move.
Nora Ainsworth was resolute. Tonight, she would force them to reveal the whereabouts of her two precious boys.
To prevent her from biting her tongue to commit suicide, Nora personally dislocated Claire Sinclair’s jaw.
She placed paper and a pen in front of the two women. "Write down where the children are. Otherwise, I’ll make you wish you were dead."
Claire Sinclair kept her eyes shut tight, pretending not to see. In her mind, she was determined not to say a word. She knew full well that whether she spoke or not, her death would not be an easy one. So why talk?
Just then, Catherine Callahan slowly regained consciousness.
Discovering she was tied up with paper and a pen in front of her, she became agitated. "Nora Ainsworth, let me go!"
"Let you go? You think that’s possible?" Nora Ainsworth crouched in front of her, gripping her jaw, and sneered, "Where did you hide my sons?"
Hearing this, Catherine Callahan burst into wild laughter. "You want to know? Well, I won’t tell you! Your two sons are already dead! Nora Ainsworth, did you really think that after I went to all the trouble to get them, I would let them live? I hate you so much, of course I’d get rid of them as quickly as possible."
SLAP! Nora Ainsworth struck her hard across the face. "Not talking? I have my ways of making you talk."
She stood up. "Someone!"
Several Men in Black entered. "Young Madam!"
"Drag these two to the basement for me. Prepare an ax. There’s a saying: give them a taste of their own medicine. I’m sure it will be quite a treat for Claire Sinclair to watch her own daughter’s leg get chopped off."
The moment she finished speaking, Claire Sinclair, who had been feigning unconsciousness, immediately opened her eyes.
Grabbing the pen, she quickly wrote a sentence on the paper: "If you let us go, I’ll tell you your sons’ address."
Nora Ainsworth was no fool. "I can find out without letting you go. Why would I release a tiger back into the mountains?"
Quentin Grant’s face was dark as he looked at the two on the floor. He shot a glance at the Men in Black. "What are you standing around for? Drag them to the basement. Now."
The group proceeded from the living room to the basement.
Catherine Callahan was tied to a stone slab.
Sierra Ainsworth stood there, watching with cold eyes.
A sharp ax was held in the hands of one of the Men in Black.
Catherine Callahan was terrified. "Don’t do this."
She looked at Quentin Grant. "Quentin, for the sake of the love we once shared, please spare my life! I swear I’ll never appear before you again! I’m begging you!"
Quentin Grant spoke. "It’s precisely because I’ve spared you too many times that you had the chance to harm Nora and the children. Catherine Callahan, you think far too highly of yourself. If you hadn’t created the illusion of being my adoptive father’s daughter from the very beginning, do you think you’d still be alive today? How many times have you harmed Nora? Yet you stubbornly refused to give up and insisted on continuing. In a way, I should thank you for your actions this time. If you had known when to quit while you were ahead, Nora’s true identity might never have come to light."
Catherine Callahan trembled all over. She wanted to say something, but she was powerless to argue.
She turned to her mother, who was still tied up nearby, and wailed, "Mom, save me!"
Claire Sinclair could hardly save herself, let alone her daughter.
Her eyes, as she looked at the group, were filled with hatred. In the end, showing no remorse, she declared, "Nora Ainsworth, I already gave the order. If my men don’t hear from me within half a day, your sons will be blown to bits. Let’s see how arrogant you can be then."
Nora Ainsworth’s fist clenched. But before she could respond, Luna Ainsworth suddenly snatched the ax from the hands of a Man in Black and swung it straight at Claire Sinclair.
"AAGH!!! AHH!!" The excruciating pain that shot up from her thigh nearly made Claire Sinclair pass out.
This was only the beginning.
The scene that followed was shocking, but everyone kept their eyes wide open, watching as bright red blood gushed from Claire Sinclair’s thigh.
It streamed down her dangling leg and onto the floor. The ax was so sharp that Luna Ainsworth had severed her leg with his own hands.
