Chapter 442 - 439: If You Harm Me, You Will Not Return
Sierra Ainsworth took a look, asked nothing, and simply obeyed. "Okay."
"I heard on the bug that she’s planning to eliminate both of us tonight," Nora Ainsworth said, handing her a pistol. "It’s silenced. Take it. It’s loaded. There’s also a knife. It’s very sharp. We don’t harm those who don’t harm us, but if anyone comes for us, there will be no escape."
It was the first time Sierra Ainsworth had ever touched a gun. She quickly hid it, along with the knife, and nodded at Nora.
"Don’t leave my side at all tonight. I’ll have men stationed at the entrance, waiting for us."
"Okay, Sis."
As the Capital of Valeria, Draconia naturally had a vibrant nightlife.
The singles’ gala was held in a famous club.
The attendees were all dressed to impress, the women stunning and the men dashing.
Each hoping to show off their best assets.
And sure enough, Catherine Callahan’s attire was so stunning it was impossible to look away.
Her low-cut evening gown was exceptionally alluring, and her ample bust, threatening to spill from the neckline, made men stare and stare again.
She wore a stylish hat, and her exquisite makeup was highlighted by fiery red lips.
She stood on eight-centimeter-high heels.
Accompanied by her entourage, she entered the party.
The moment she entered, all eyes were on her. Those who didn’t recognize her immediately began to speculate about who she was.
In stark contrast, Nora Ainsworth and Sierra Ainsworth were dressed casually. No dresses, no high heels, and their hair was tied up in high ponytails. They looked less like party guests and more like bodyguards.
Instantly, Catherine Callahan became the center of everyone’s attention, while the two women trailing her were completely ignored.
The sisters sat nonchalantly on a sofa, but their focus was sharp. Nora meticulously scanned their surroundings and the people nearby.
They didn’t touch any of the food or drinks.
Even when others offered, they refused to take a single bite.
For the first half of the evening, the atmosphere was perfectly harmonious.
At nine o’clock, Nora Ainsworth noticed that Catherine Callahan hadn’t left yet. She could see that Catherine was thoroughly enjoying the attention as numerous men tried to cozy up to her.
Just after nine, the atmosphere of the entire party slowly began to shift.
Nora noticed that the number of people laughing and chatting had started to dwindle.
"Sis, look at that man beside her," Sierra whispered. "He keeps glancing over at us. His intentions are obvious."
Nora had already noticed. "We’re leaving now. We can’t wait until the place is empty."
The two of them stood up, but they had barely taken a few steps before Catherine Callahan intercepted them. "What’s the hurry? I’m not leaving yet. Let’s go together later."
"Well, it’s just too dull," Nora said with a sigh. "No one’s even hitting on Sierra. She’s bored out of her mind, so we figured we’d head home."
Catherine made it clear she wasn’t letting them go. "Oh, don’t! Just wait for me."
Nora knew what she was up to and was determined to leave.
"You seem to be in high demand with the men here, so enjoy yourself. We won’t keep you company." Just as she finished speaking, a dozen men brandishing knives burst through the door.
Catherine screamed and tried to flee, but the main doors slammed shut in an instant.
The lights suddenly went out.
It was so dark you couldn’t see your hand in front of your face.
Nora grabbed Sierra Ainsworth and immediately bolted deeper into the building.
She had already noted the location of the stairwell.
They sprinted relentlessly up the stairs.
The sounds of pursuit were right at their heels, but since they were wearing flats and pants, they were incredibly fast.
In no time, they had run up four floors and stopped at a corner.
Nora had expected the whole group to charge up together, but to her surprise, they left two men behind to guard each floor as they went up.
For four floors, that meant at least eight men were standing guard.
Nora’s mind raced. ’We’ll be found sooner or later,’ she thought.
’It’s better to seize the initiative.’
Clutching her knife, she crept toward the two men guarding the fourth floor. She plunged the blade into the back of one man’s head, killing him instantly. At the same moment—because the other man was holding a light—Sierra took aim and fired. The shot was true, hitting him square in the forehead. Both men died on the spot.
They slowly made their way down to the third floor.
Things went smoothly until they reached the second floor.
The pursuers from above must have come down, discovered the bodies on the third and fourth floors, and immediately alerted the guards on the first and second floors.
And so, Nora found herself in an open confrontation, fighting four men—the guards from the second floor and reinforcements from the first.
She was a skilled fighter, but taking on four men was exhausting. She managed to finish them off, pulling Sierra down the stairs with her, though not before taking a knife wound to the arm.
Seeing their dead comrades, the remaining men became like enraged lions. Their roars and the thunder of their footsteps were enough to fray anyone’s nerves.
Down on the first floor, the lights had come back on. Catherine Callahan was sitting there calmly, not expecting to see the two of them come down again.
She shot to her feet. "Nora Ainsworth, you’re harder to kill than I thought."
"Catherine Callahan, did you really think I didn’t know what was going to happen tonight? I’ve been ready for this. Let’s not even talk about me getting out. Even if I couldn’t, did you think *you* could? I have my own people waiting at the entrance right now. With your pea-sized brain, trying to play games with me? You must be tired of living!"
Ignoring her injured arm, she lunged forward and kicked Catherine Callahan hard in the stomach, then pressed the gun to her head.
The burly men who had just caught up froze, not daring to make a move.
"Take one more step and I’ll kill her," she warned, backing away toward the entrance. "Open the door."
Catherine was convinced Nora was bluffing. "Don’t open it! She doesn’t have the guts to kill me! Kill them both, now!"
Nora let out a cold laugh and said to Sierra, "Take the knife and cut her."
Without a moment’s hesitation, Sierra slashed Catherine Callahan’s calf with the knife.
The sharp pain made Catherine scream.
"AH! Nora Ainsworth, how dare you..."
She leaned in slowly, whispering next to Catherine’s ear. "You’ve already gone after my son. Tell me, is there anything I wouldn’t dare to do? Tossing you into a vat of boiling oil... I bet that would be an even more... ecstatic experience for you."
Catherine snorted. "I knew you were here for your son. And you’re so good at playing dumb. Go on, kill me. If you do, you’ll never see your son again."
"Open the main door, now! Or the next cut will be to your womb."
Catherine started to panic. She looked at her motionless men and roared, "What are you standing there for? Get them—AHHH!!!"
With an icy expression, Sierra Ainsworth plunged the knife into Catherine’s abdomen, right over her womb. "Cousin, you shouldn’t have stalled. Or else... your blood... will slowly... drain away. When you try to harm others, you should be prepared for the consequences."
"Open the door!" Catherine finally ordered, her body convulsing in pain. Pale and drenched in a cold sweat, she was on the verge of fainting.
