Chapter 1629 - 1615: Wherever the Gaze Lands, That’s Eternal—How Should I Punish You
Violet Zimmerman was cornered by Daxton Lancaster against the wall, his hand resting beside her, his bloodshot eyes staring at her intensely, with a half-smiling, half-menacing expression that was frightening to behold.
Violet was well aware that Daxton was having another "episode," and tonight was bound to include a session of humiliation.
Worse, her mother was staying next door; she couldn’t let her mother hear, and she certainly couldn’t allow her to worry.
Suppressing her inner panic, Violet forced a smile, raising her hand to touch Daxton’s face, attempting to appease him in exchange for peace.
"Daxton, you’re drunk, go take a shower, the water will get cold soon."
"Oh? Planning to use a gentle approach to deceive me?"
Daxton raised his phoenix-like eyes, his fingers underneath lightly grazing as he looked at Violet, asking with a smirk.
"Tell me, have you met Joseph secretly these days? Did he climb through the window to have an affair with you while I was on business trips?"
Violet...
Feeling guilty, she dared not look into Daxton’s eyes, her hand frantically clawing at the wall behind her, her gaze evasive, "No, no."
"Really didn’t?" Daxton retorted, his alcohol-laden breath drawing closer.
Against the bathroom wall, Violet could only watch as Daxton approached inch by inch, his lips almost touching hers, deliberately lowering his voice.
"So you’re saying you haven’t been together recently? Tell me... should I satisfy you in other ways?"
"Daxton!" Violet gritted her teeth in disbelief.
"You forced me to seduce Joseph initially, and now you’re turning the tables!"
"Yes, I forced you,"
Daxton candidly admitted, his hand moving up to pinch Violet’s chin, his thumb gently stroking her lips.
"I told you to get pregnant by him, not to stay entangled with each other."
"I didn’t!"
Violet hastily denied.
"Yes, you didn’t, but what about Joseph?"
Daxton continued to unconsciously rub Violet’s lips, his bloodshot eyes focused on them, speaking in an offhand manner, as if discussing trivial matters.
"Violet, I don’t know what kind of spell you cast on Joseph to make my own brother develop inappropriate feelings for you."
Here, Daxton’s tone suddenly intensified.
"Joseph is my brother, my closest kin, Violet, you deceitful woman, you even seduced my own brother. Tell me, how should I punish you?"
Violet felt the irony; so this is what "turning black into white" meant. It was him who desperately implored her, yet now it all became her fault.
She realized, the man in front of her was, to outsiders, a well-groomed gentleman, gentle, considerate, loving towards family and wife. But once the doors were closed, when it was just the two of them, he shed that layer of facade, transforming into a demon, doing things only beasts would do.
Leaning against the wall, Violet resignedly closed her eyes, "Do whatever you want." Ultimately, she couldn’t escape this ordeal; let him vent so she may find some peace.
Suddenly, Daxton’s lowered eyelids lifted, a fierce light quickly shot from his bloodshot eyes, and with a swift motion, Violet was lifted and thrown into the bathtub.
In the spacious bathtub, the man stood with his hands behind his back, looking down at the woman kneeling before him.
