Chapter 1630 - 1616: Everywhere the Eyes Reach, It’s Everlasting: Worlds Apart Before and After
The baby’s cries came through, a sudden sound, like an alarm ringing in Violet Zimmerman’s heart.
In a mother’s heart, her child is always the top priority. With a sudden movement, Violet Zimmerman stood up, ready to attend to her child.
One leg hadn’t left the bathtub when the man towered above her grabbed her back, tossing her into the tub again.
Daxton Lancaster’s taut facial features emitted a coldness that was devoid of empathy.
Violet Zimmerman sat back in the bathtub, clutching Daxton Lancaster’s leg, "Robert is crying."
For a mother, her child is her heart; she was his biological mom, how could she just watch her child cry without doing anything!
"Crying helps with digestion." Daxton Lancaster said coldly.
"Continue, it felt good earlier."
In the room, Robert Lancaster’s cries grew louder, the baby persisted in crying without adult comfort.
"Violet, Daxton, what’s wrong with Robert? Why does he keep crying? Is he uncomfortable?"
It was Aria Williams’ voice, accompanied by the urgent sound of pounding on the door.
Violet Zimmerman looked up at the towering man, her lips were bleeding because of her own bite earlier.
Aria Williams kept knocking, "Violet, open the door. How can you be sleeping so deeply, not hearing the baby cry?"
With a splashing sound, Violet Zimmerman was already being lifted by the arm by Daxton Lancaster, "Go open the door for Mom."
Daxton Lancaster’s composure made Violet Zimmerman feel cold inside. She stepped out of the bathtub, pulling on a robe silently as she walked out.
In the bathroom, Daxton Lancaster’s lowered gaze fell on an unresponsive spot, his dense eyelashes concealed the emotions beneath his eyes.
"Violet, what were you doing? Why did you take so long to open the door?" Aria Williams’ voice of complaint paused as she saw her daughter’s wet hair.
"...you and Daxton..."
"Mom, come in." Violet Zimmerman moved aside, expressionless.
Hearing her grandson’s persistent cries, Aria Williams couldn’t care less, she walked quickly past her daughter, picking up the constantly crying grandson.
"Violet, Robert must be hungry, hurry over to feed the child."
Aria Williams placed the little grandson on the bed, unwrapped the blanket and changed to a fresh diaper.
On the other side, Daxton Lancaster came out of the bathroom, his hair wet, also wearing a robe, and displayed visible embarrassment and seemed uneasy.
"Mom, it’s all my fault... I woke you up."
Originally, Aria Williams purely thought her daughter was bathing, but upon seeing Daxton Lancaster’s appearance and expression at that moment, she suddenly understood something.
Wrapping the grandson again and handing him to the daughter, with a blushing old face she chided, "You young people, honestly!"
"Mom, don’t blame Violet, it’s all my fault," Daxton Lancaster’s hesitations further confirmed something.
He walked over to sit beside Violet Zimmerman, one hand resting on her shoulder, the other hand affectionately tucking the stray hair hanging over her forehead behind her ear.
Violet Zimmerman lowered her eyes, opened her robe and silently breastfed the child, experiencing once again the hypocrisy of this man, clearly forcing her earlier, now pretending to be a loving couple.
The little guy stopped crying as soon as he latched onto the nipple, and Aria Williams didn’t want to intrude further, awkwardly said, "Okay, I’ll head back now. You two couple, be more careful in the future!"
"Mom, sorry for worrying you, we will be more thoughtful in the future." Daxton Lancaster replied good-naturedly.
