Chapter 1631 - 1617: Where the Eyes Rest, There Is Everlasting Love: The Same Old Routine Every Time
Almost as her mother stepped out, Violet Zimmerman shrugged her shoulders, saying nothing, and shuffled forward a bit.
Daxton Lancaster’s arm felt empty, hanging by the bed, and he glanced up at the woman who was clearly still sulking, lifted the quilt, and lay down on the bed.
...
In the darkness, the couple lay back-to-back on the bed, with a large space between them. Violet Zimmerman rested her head on her hand, her mind replaying the earlier scene.
It was as if the taste was still lingering in her mouth, an indescribably strange flavor, just thinking about it brought a swift wave of discomfort.
In the dark, Violet Zimmerman dashed into the bathroom like a flash of lightning.
Daxton Lancaster turned, facing the direction of the bathroom, the dim light concealed the emotions on his face.
When Violet Zimmerman returned to the bed, she held a piece of rock sugar in her mouth, often suffering heartburn during her confinement, so the room was stocked with rock sugar.
As soon as she lay down, warmth pressed against her back, Daxton Lancaster’s arm tightened around her waist, and his resigned voice sounded in her ear.
"Violet, we are husband and wife, we shouldn’t disdain each other."
Violet Zimmerman tightly closed her eyes, pressing her lips together firmly, not allowing herself any reaction.
Daxton Lancaster’s large hand kneaded her waist back and forth, as if suppressing something, his warm lips intermittently kissed her earlobe, sighing.
"You are the wife I earned through honest means, do you know, you have always been in my heart.
Violet, perhaps I don’t understand what love is, but every time I go on a business trip and see those beautiful clothes, I think of you."
After several instances, Violet Zimmerman had figured out Daxton Lancaster’s tactics, following the humiliation came continuous repentance.
She closed her eyes, took a breath, trembling as she exhaled, and in the darkness, Violet Zimmerman said, "Daxton, I don’t need those illusory things. From now on, let’s live respectfully, like guests."
She didn’t want those so-called feelings and affections. Since divorce wasn’t possible, they’d make do and live together.
"But I can’t do it!"
Daxton Lancaster’s voice sounded behind, already forcing Violet Zimmerman over, his lean body climbed on top, pressing on Violet Zimmerman, holding her face, making her look at him.
In the dark, Violet Zimmerman saw a glimmer in Daxton Lancaster’s eyes.
"Violet, you are my wife, my closest person. Some things, some pains, I can only confide in you, Violet, you should understand me..."
Daxton Lancaster’s face was buried in Violet Zimmerman’s neck, his suppressed voice could not conceal the pain in his heart.
"I’m a man... I want to taste what it’s like... but I can’t... although I’m wealthy, many women around me are willing, but I only want you, because you are my wife..."
The air fell silent again. Previously, during these times, Violet Zimmerman would offer comfort, but now she seemed to have lost hope, staring blankly at the ceiling, letting Daxton Lancaster pour out his woes.
"Please don’t disdain me, okay, we are husband and wife,"
Daxton Lancaster’s voice sounded again, and then a tickling sensation moved along her neck, it was Daxton Lancaster’s lips, quickly sealing hers.
"Daxton, stop it, I’m exhausted."
Violet Zimmerman turned her head to avoid, not only physically tired, but emotionally drained.
It’s always like this, one slap and one sweet treat.
Daxton Lancaster said nothing, stubbornly kissing Violet Zimmerman’s lips, during the struggle the piece of rock sugar in her mouth was taken by the man, a gentle exclamation followed.
"So sweet."
