Vanessa Quinn knew Evander Lancaster hated her, but she didn’t expect him to hate her to such an extent.

Evander Lancaster’s reaction was so intense that it startled Vanessa Quinn, who was unprepared. She watched as the man’s handsome face darkened like the night, the color slowly draining from his face.

"Evander Lancaster, if you want to get rid of me, unless the Lancaster Family openly announces the cancellation of our marriage agreement in front of the media, I’ll keep bothering you every day!"

By the end, Vanessa Quinn was practically roaring, her knuckles on the chair turning white, her neck veins popping, and the kiss marks looking even more terrifying.

His phoenix eyes tightened as he watched the persistent woman. Evander Lancaster suddenly laughed and nodded, "Fine, I’ll do as you wish!"

After saying that, he picked up the jacket hanging on the wall and strode out.

"I’ll make the whole Lancaster Family regret it!" Regret breaking their promises and for provoking someone they should not have!

Vanessa Quinn turned to watch Evander Lancaster’s departing figure, gritting her teeth in curse, and was answered by the sound of his footsteps on the marble corridor.

Driving all the way back, Evander Lancaster’s handsome face remained gloomy until he entered the apartment and saw the gluttonous little lazy pig on the sofa, making the gloom in his heart disappear instantly, as if the cloudy weather had met bright sunshine.

"You’re back." Sophia Hamilton turned her head to glance at him, holding a paper bag in one hand and sending beef jerky into her mouth with the other.

"Yeah," Evander Lancaster took off his shoes and changed into slippers.

"Where’s Mom?"

"I wanted to eat durian, so Mom went to the supermarket."

Sophia Hamilton was munching beef jerky while watching cartoons. While others do fetal education by listening to music, she was quirkily watching cartoons, claiming that her baby in the womb would develop a liking for cartoons, thus avoiding future obsessions with mobile games.

Evander Lancaster laughed and sat on the sofa, embracing Sophia Hamilton’s shoulders, "Why do you have to boss even Mom around? Just call me if you want something to eat."

"Actually, I didn’t want it that much. Mom said living in the apartment felt too suffocating and wanted to go out. There’s no square or park nearby, so I sent her to the supermarket."

"You!" Evander Lancaster pinched Sophia Hamilton’s nose, "Do you feel suffocated? How about we move back to the old house? There’s good greenery, and you and Mom can take walks in the yard..."

"Stop!" Evander Lancaster’s words were interrupted halfway by Sophia Hamilton, who made a pause gesture to him.

"Stop conning me. I’ve said, I won’t have any ties with the Lancaster Family!"

Evander Lancaster was helpless, "But I’m part of the Lancaster Family!"

"How is that the same? You’re my husband. Other people, hmph," Sophia Hamilton turned back to continue munching beef jerky and watching cartoons, humming twice when she mentioned this.

"I won’t associate with her for the rest of my life!"

Evander Lancaster knew exactly who the "other person" was referred to but didn’t continue the topic. Instead, he helped smooth her hair, saying, "Sophia, Mom is back from abroad and wants us to go back over the weekend."

"Hmph! She means you, right?" Sophia Hamilton sneered lightly. Would that woman with her eyes on the top of her head actively ask her to go back? Absolute rubbish.

"No, Mom specifically asked us to have a family dinner together over the weekend, and even specifically instructed me to bring you and Mom along. Our child is about to be born, and the elders from both families have not even met yet. Mom plans to discuss our wedding arrangements; if we just get a certificate without a wedding, we’ll be laughed at by others considering the Lancaster’s stature!"

Evander Lancaster said earnestly, and Sophia Hamilton turned back, her eyes reflecting indifference, a piece of beef jerky still paused before her lips.

Since Sophia Hamilton became pregnant, her appetite had surprisingly improved, so just a few months later, her baby face had grown into a cute bun face, white and tender, suggesting anyone could pinch out water with a squeeze.

"Evander Lancaster, no wonder you keep asking what kind of wedding I like— worried about being laughed at by others!"

Evander Lancaster...

He simply wanted to give her a grand wedding so she wouldn’t feel wronged, unrelated to whether others would laugh or not, okay!

Asking which girl in the world doesn’t dream of having a romantic and unique wedding? Clearly, the little one is purposely misinterpreting his words.

He knows because of his mother’s past actions nearly led to his child being aborted, and he is also very angry. But regardless of how angry he is, she remains his mother, impossible to never communicate with his whole life.

"Sophia, as the saying goes, love the house and its crow, I’m apologizing on behalf of my mother for her past actions," Evander Lancaster adopted a serious attitude, but Sophia Hamilton remained unmoved.

"Evander Lancaster, what’s the use of your apology? The one who disagreed with us being together was your mom. The one who wanted to harm my son was also her. If it weren’t for my son’s strong fate, you’d be crying now!"

Sophia Hamilton raised her voice, and Juliana Lancaster hadn’t come in yet but already heard her daughter’s voice. She opened the door, pretending not to be pleased, frowning and scolding.

"What’s the point of yelling? I heard you yelling from far away!"

"Mom’s back." Evander Lancaster walked over, taking the shopping bags from Juliana Lancaster’s hands, who still frowned disapprovingly at her daughter.

"I yell for a reason. If he hadn’t annoyed me, I wouldn’t have even bothered to make a sound."

Sophia Hamilton kept munching beef jerky, looking indifferent, Juliana Lancaster was very helpless, switching into slippers, smiling at Evander Lancaster.

"This girl has been spoiled by you. You must stop spoiling her from now on!"

"Mom, are you my real mom or his? Why do you start speaking for him as soon as you come back?" Sophia Hamilton protested discontentedly, Juliana Lancaster’s face turned stern once more.

"This isn’t about real mom or not; it’s about principles!"

"I’m independent, talking principles gets you nowhere with me!"

"You child, argue again, and I’ll hit you!" Juliana Lancaster raised her hand pretendingly, Sophia Hamilton continued nonchalantly munching beef jerky, lazily saying, "Evander Lancaster, your mother-in-law is going to hit your wife."

Evander Lancaster, having delivered the shopping bags to the kitchen, emerged smiling, saying, "Mom, if you’re angry, hit me. Sophia’s body is not convenient."

"Hmph," Sophia Hamilton happily watched cartoons, Juliana Lancaster was even more helpless, walking to the bathroom to wash her hands, intending to cook dinner, mumbling while entering.

"This child is so spoiled!" Although mumbling this way, Juliana Lancaster was genuinely happy inside, which parent doesn’t wish their child happiness? With her daughter married to such a good man, she’d laugh herself awake even in dreams.

During dinner, Evander Lancaster again mentioned his mother’s invitation for them to return to the old house for dinner, yet Sophia Hamilton’s attitude remained unchanged — she wouldn’t go!

She never wants to associate with Evander Lancaster’s mother this lifetime.

Juliana Lancaster is an elder, and since they’ve already gotten the certificate how could they never associate, even if her daughter thinks this way, she won’t approve. So, she sternly scolded her daughter and gladly accepted the invitation.

Evander Lancaster and his mother talked over the phone, agreeing to return to the old house together over the weekend. Meanwhile, Violet Zimmerman had already started preparing early, but before the weekend arrived, something unexpected happened.
